About Mike Hawksworth
Mike Hawksworth resides and works in Phoenix, Arizona. He and wife Hope have enjoyed Hawaii vacations since their first trip in 1985. After spending many years renting a summer place in Maui, they were fortunate enough in 2007 to find our incredible Wailea home which had just been listed the week we arrived on the island. We knew it was special when we walked in the first time and had it under contract before they returned home. Hope passed away in the late summer of 2011 but the family continues to gather in Maui where many memories of Hope are relished.
Mike Hawksworth purchased this Condo in 2007
Why Mike Hawksworth chose Wailea
Over the years we have had the privilege of staying at various locations on many of the Hawaiian Islands. We have found the South Maui area provides access to shopping, restaurants and beaches that never appear crowded. With those amenities close, the Wailea Resort Area brings the tropical resort feel to every property. The Wailea Association insures that the properties are upkept and all landscaping and public areas contribute to the tropical resort environment.
What makes this Condo unique
Our home is steps away from Keawakapu Beach, which is fronted by private homes versus large hotel or condominium complexes, eliminating large beach crowds. We call the home our Polynesian Villa, since it is the only building on the Palms property in the Polynesian architecture. The home is a tri-level, with access through a private entrance midway between the lower bedroom suites and the upper living areas. The large lanais both upstairs and downstairs provide ocean views over Keawakapu beach.

Great, spacious villa!
Had a wonderful stay! Mike, the owner, was responsive and a pleasure to interact with. The unit is well equipped with all needs for the beach, cooking and general day to day living. We will be back!!
Great Location; comfortable home
We really enjoyed our stay at Mike's home. It's a short walk to the beach, and the home had all the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc.. that we needed. The beds were comfortable and the home is well stocked. We loved the community pool and hot tub and the grounds around the property are beautiful. It's near a busier road so there is some traffic noise but it didn't keep us from thoroughly enjoying our stay.
We absolutely loved our time at the Palms at Wailea and this unit exceeded our expectations. We had two families staying together for a week (6 people total) and we had more than enough space to live and entertain. The kitchen and laundry room are well stocked with supplies and was very clean upon arrival. It has a large deck off the back, and although it can be a little noisy (you back onto a busy road), we still spent every morning out there enjoying the view and listening to the birds.
The grounds of the Palms at Wailea were stunning. This unit is a short walk to the pool.
We spent a lot of time at Keawakapu beach, which is a short walk or drive to one of two public beach access points. You can take beach chairs or boogie boards down (no need to buy your own, they had lots of options to choose from).
The owner and island property manager were quick to respond when we had questions.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Beautiful property, only complaint was street traffic noise but not enough to be a deterrent
Spent 9 days in this lovely home. Close to a beautiful beach 5-10 minute walk. The house was beautifully decorated, clean ,well stocked, there was nothing we could have asked for. Lots of snorkel gear boogie boards etc. The owner Mike was very good at responding quickly to any questions we had prior to arrival. Beds were very comfortable as were the pillows
Great location and very spacious.
My family had a great time here. It had plenty of room and the roll away bed was perfect for our 5 year old twins. It was outfitted very well with beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear etc. May not be a big deal for everyone but the pantry was shocked very well with condiments and spices. My only complaints are with the management company that handles the unit. The grill was extremely built up with grease, so much so that the build up was actually touching the electric heating coil. Causing it to ignite. That's hard to do with an electric grill. I cleaned it all out and it worked fine after. They also changed the door code an hour before our scheduled check out time. Luckily we still had someone inside, otherwise our luggage would've been trapped. Like I said both of those items were about the management/cleaning company. And hopefully will be remedied. The unit itself was outstanding.
Includes everything you would need!
This was a great property to stay in. We had 6 adults and were very comfortable with our stay. Loved that there were beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, ice chest, snorkel gear to use. The place was clean and the kitchen was great to cook in. Would definitely recommend!
