Very comfortable, lots of room, the kitchen had just about anything you might need. The host was great to work with. We would definitely stay here again!
Enjoyed the location. Short walk to the Wailea walking path that goes for miles and a long sandy swimming beach. We adjusted to the traffic noise during the day and really liked the unit. The kitchen is very well supplied and there is a lot of beach gear. We also liked the generous supplies of dishwashing and laundry soap for a 6 day stay. Close to many wonderful island adventures.
The apartment was as advertised and more beautiful in person. Great location, beautiful surroundings. Nice walk to beach and shopping. We did not want to leave.
This is a big 2 bedroom condo. Great kitchen, big rooms, awesome lania's, and every amenity you need! Great location minus the traffic noise in the morning. Owner was great to work with; communication excellent.
We enjoyed the condo immensely, made for a great week+ in Maui. Good location, beach is a close walk, Kihei is super close and so is the Wailea shopping area. Plenty of parking. Great beds. Good beach supplies, nice social space and bedrooms are downstairs so makes for more privacy for a large group. A couple small tweaks (better sectional furniture, a cooler for the beach, better cookware, Kleenex, shampoo & conditioner in the showers, fix one of the stiff sliding doors) would easily make the place 5 stars, but regardless it’s a good property with plenty of room and nice comfortable amenities. The street noise was actually quite distracting when we first arrived; a few days in it didn’t bother us much anymore.
Over all the house was in the perfect spot to walk to the beach and shopping. It was very spacious and the road noise wasn’t bad at all. The house is very dated and in definite need of updating and repairs. The couch is still broken as was mentioned from a prior review from well over a year ago and has yet to be replaced, you literally fall through to the broken frame. So there is no sitting on it, especially not usable for sleeping on the pull out bed. The lights in the master bath are burnt out. The second bedroom has a significant musty smell. Make sure and watch your step once entering the laundry room as it’s definitely a tripping hazard. The snorkel gear were all broken and not usable. The chairs for the beach were packed of sand and the pockets were full of empty cans and wrappers.
This condo was very speacious, provided easy living with a very convenient and scenic location. Very well appointed, the property gave us a true and relaxing Hawaiian experience.
This was a beautiful and clean property that was great for our family of 6. The owners were always quick to respond and were incredibly helpful. We had never been to Hawaii before and the owners truly made our stay and trip the best it could be. The view was great and the property is very close to many great things. I could not recommend this property enough. Should we be able to make it back to Maui again we will definitely stay here again.
What a fantastic place to stay. So close to everything. Definitely keeping this place close for another visit. Management team was super responsive and accommodating.
Everything met or exceeded expectations. The beach is walkable and the view from the balcony is lovely.
The only teeny tiny issue is that finding it was confusing because the condo building it’s in is accessible via a different street than the one for the main address for the other units.
Mahalo.
My two teens and I stayed for a wonderful time in February. The place was perfect for us, clean, with everything we needed. I gave 4 stars for location only because the road noise could be a factor for some people. The beach access within walking distance is a great beach for swimming, and we surfed at the Kihei Cove every day, just 5 miles down the road. The road noise did not affect our sleep. We would love to stay here again next trip.
Comfortable place to stay. A couple of nits: Watch out for the unmarked “trip” step going into the laundry. All four of us stumbled more than once. Easy fix would be a marking on the floor to warn you.
Also, pack shampoo. Not provided. It’s so basic at most rental accommodations and a hassle to have to buy before you shower after a long flight. Traffic noise is considerable if you want to enjoy the lanai but not so bothersome at night.
Otherwise, the beach gear was really welcomed and communication was great. Would stay there again.
First family trip to Maui. Good location for first time visit. Just on the outskirts of the busy part of Kihei so when we were “home” it felt quiet and relaxed. The condo itself felt spacious for family of 4 and daytime family visitors. Condo was spotless, everything in working condition, lots of extras such as beach gear, towels, kitchen essentials and a grill. The pool and jacuzzi was a nice added bonus to the trip with a beautiful view. We felt like we were at a resort.
Host was easy to reach with quick responses. We had zero concerns or issues, the whole stay was a pleasure.
We spent our Thanksgiving here.
Ideally located property with short walk to an awesome, family friendly beach. It turned out to be our favorite beach of the 7 that we visited. The condo is near to shops and other beaches. It is well appointed with all the amenities we needed for a family of six.
Lush gardens, great views, and a short walk to the pool. More of an island-feel at this condo than other Palms condos, different architecture.
Great service too! During our stay, the k-cup coffee maker stopped working, and they had a new one at the condo in a few hours.
Very kind and responsive Host! Awesome on-island service guy.
Would definitely go back!
Only considerations: the condo sits adjacent to a well traveled street connecting Kihei to Wailea, so there is a bit of road noise particularly in the morning and evening and overnight on weekends. It didn’t bother us, but could bother a lighter sleeper.
Also, while the regular beds were great, the pull-out and roll-away beds are not very comfortable (to be expected, right?) and I would think about that again when deciding how many people to have at this site. Kids would probably be fine in the pull-out, but I would not put an adult there for multiple nights.
Overall, a great experience! Looking forward to visiting again!
This was our third time staying at this property. Great location with very nice accommodations. A lot of swim related items at the property to use. You can walk down to the beach. Highly recommend this villa in the Wailea area.
A wonderful condo for a family of five with a large pool and gorgeous beaches nearby. Snorkel gear, beach towels, umbrellas & chairs, and boogie boards are provided.
The only glitch is the condo is on a four-lane road… which can get quite busy at times. Otherwise, we loved our stay.
This unit was perfect for 2 couples. Both rooms have ensuite bathrooms plus one upstairs by the living room. So great for 4 adults. Tons of swim gear in the laundry room that we really appreciated.
This condo is well loved and widely used. It was fully stocked with all the beach supplies you need. It was a close to the beach. The pool at The Palms was wonderful. However, this condo is one of the old units in the development. The traffic noise is constant and can be loud, so bring ear plugs. The DVD player was broken, the grill ignition didn’t work. The grill was dirty. The he dishwasher door is broken and will drop on your toes if you aren’t careful. The couch frame is broken. We didn’t use it as a pullout bed, but just sitting on it was awkward due to the broken frame. The downstairs had a mildew smell and there is a hole in one door. The snorkeling equipment has been used a lot, so some of it was broken. Definitely check the snorkels before you use them. We had some issues with housekeeping, but it sounds like they used a new company this week. I think a lot of these issues were just not known to the management team. When I let them know, Carl and Mark were quick to respond and remedy what they could. Overall, we liked the unit and loved our stay in Wailea, but this condo definitely needs some TLC.
Location was really excellent, we loved being close to Wailea shops, and sidewalks beach. It was very nice to have two separate bedroom spaces downstairs for our family, and there was ample beach towels/gear for us to use when we went out. Our only complaint was the traffic noise during the night - this property is very near the road and the windows are thin. Apart from that, this was a fantastic experience!
The only complaint is the couch pullout bed. It was unusable as it wouldn’t straighten out so if you laid on it you slipped off the bed plus it was very uncomfortable. Easy fix we went and bought a blow up mattress which we left at the property!
A beautiful location with a big yard for the kids to play in as well as the nearby pool. Close to shopping, beaches and restaurants. All the amenities of home just in paradise!
Property owner was quick to answer any and all questions.

Wailea Condo Review
Overall, the condo was spacious and nicely furnished. The bedrooms had plenty of room and the bathrooms were clean and nice. Kitchen was well-equipped and we appreciated the beach chairs/boogie boards/umbrellas. The disappointment I experienced was the loud noise from the road. I wanted to enjoy the back lanai but it was very loud and not enjoyable to sit out on the patio. We opted not to barbeque and hang on the lanai because of this. I know this was written in other reviews, but it was more than I anticipated. Luckily, we were out and about a lot so it was okay; but, if we were to plan to stay and relax, that would have affected us more. But, we did like how the location was placed in Wailea in walking distance to the local beaches and the longer walk to the Shops at Wailea.

About the host
Hosted by Mike Hawksworth
Mike, Anna and Masha reside in Phoenix, Arizona. Mike and his wife Hope had enjoyed Hawaii vacations since their first trip in 1985. After spending many years renting a summer place in Maui, they were fortunate enough to find our incredible Wailea home which had just been listed one summer the week we arrived on the island. We knew it was special when we walked in the first time and had it under contract before they returned home. Hope passed away in the late summer of 2011 but the family continues to gather in Maui where many memories of Hope are relished. Anna and Masha joined the family in 2017 and relish the many yearly trips we make to the island.
Why they chose this property
Over the years we have had the privilege of staying at various locations on many of the Hawaiian Islands. We have found the South Maui area provides access to shopping, restaurants and beaches that never appear crowded. With those amenities close, the Wailea Resort Area brings the tropical resort feel to every property. The Wailea Association insures that the properties are upkept and all landscaping and public areas contribute to the tropical resort environment.
What makes this property unique
Our home is steps away from Keawakapu Beach, which is fronted by private homes versus large hotel or condominium complexes, eliminating large beach crowds. We call the home our Polynesian Villa, since it is the only building on the Palms property in the Polynesian architecture. The home is a tri-level, with access through a private entrance midway between the lower bedroom suites and the upper living areas. The large lanais both upstairs and downstairs provide ocean views over Keawakapu beach.
