Alaska Nordic | Creek Chalet no.2 is a peaceful and tranquil property located in a serene corner of the forest. It is incredibly vivid in the snowy months and begs one to come outside in the summer months.
The space is styled in Nordic fashion; simple, clean and elegant. 2bd/1ba chalet attached to owners unit. Luxury linens, high quality mattresses and location right on the trail hard to beat. The large South-facing front deck allows for morning sun with coffee and the upper back deck is great to enjoy a drink and watch the creek flow by.
The property has three units: this unit no.2 and also Alaska Nordic Creek Chalet no.1 and no.3. Each has private parking, entry and access to the backyard and trail.
Each unit is private, quiet and a different size so each can accommodate different group sizes.
If lucky, booking all units at the same time would facilitate an incredible home base for a large group or multiple families travelling together.
I am available to resolve issues, provide additional supplies and help with recommendations for your trip.
My wife and I were born and raised in Alaska. We are both explorers and adventurers so have a lot of personal experience in Alaska's outdoors. My wife has worked in the Alaska travel industry for a long time and is an expert with bookings and trip planning.
The property is located in one of Anchorage's first homesteads. As the family grew in generations the original homestead was divided over time into the smaller pieces we currently have. There are multiple descendants of the original homesteaders still living in the neighborhood.
This said, the property is very centrally located in Anchorage:
10 min to the Airport | 3 min to the Seward Hwy | <5 min to multiple restaurants 15 min to Flattop Mountain | 10 min to Downtown | 45 min to Girdwood
There is one off-street parking spot. There is also a city park that abuts the property where larger vehicles or those with trailers could park temporarily.
We have a private access trail to the Campbell Creek Trail and are directly next to a creek access park. The park has a nice small beach that is safe for kids. The Campbell Creek Trail is paved and connects to over 100 miles of city-wide trails for access to endless local adventures. Taku Lake is 1 mile South on the trail and offers a great morning view, fishing and sunshine. Peanut Farm Bar and Arctic Roadrunner Burger Joint are both .75 mile North on the trail and are both classic Alaskan watering holes with tons of historical pictures and a look at Alaska's short past.
-Two bikes are available once the trail is free of snow and ice after break-up

Great stay! There was plenty of room for our family of six (two adults and four preteen/teen kids), and the space had everything we needed. The host was very communicative, and everything about the stay was easy and smooth. The home was also very clean. Would definitely stay again!

Abrianna and family were great to have. She communicated well, was able to check in and out successfully and left the space in great condition. I'd love to have her back again any time.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very well equipped and in a nice location along the Campbell Creek trail. We saw a moose family right along the trail! Very peaceful enjoying coffee each morning on the back deck overlooking the creek. Thanks for a great stay!

What a lovely place to stay. Nice and quiet, super easy check in and had everything we needed. Dallas is a wonderful host, fantastic communication
The creekside chalet was a wonderful place to stay. It was very peaceful and the creek was very nice. A great central location. Definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Property was as advertised, Dallas was very communicative, polite and caring. Bedding was so fresh as was towels. We had all we needed in the kitchen for making meals. The view off the deck was stunning.
Property met our needs. Communication with the owner was outstanding. The location is great with close proximity to anything you need. The neighborhood can be a little sketchy in spots, but we never felt unsafe. The twin beds aren’t the greatest for adults, but would be fine for kids. Overall, we had a very good experience. Would book again.
The unit is cozy in a timber building along famous Campbell Creek with a couple of bicycles to enjoy the bike trail along the adjacent Greenway. Very convenient to various shops and destinations along old and new Seward Highway, and the Airport.
The place was very clean and had everything we needed. The view of the creek from the back yard is beautiful. It was great to have a walking path right next to the property too.

Thank you Shelleen. I do appreciate your compliments! I work as hard as my guests need to make sure your stay is perfect and exactly what you hope for in Alaska. Cheers
Our family enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and updated. The owner was quick to respond to our messages and provide what was needed. There was plenty of space for the four of us. Having new vintage style bikes on the property to enjoy the nearby bike trail was an unexpected treat! We would definitely stay here again.

PERFECT
I can’t say enough great things! Perfect location, perfect scenery, perfect host, perfect trails, perfect creek. Perfect everything. You won’t regret staying here. It is everything and more!!
Communication was great! Suggestions on things to do and places to see were a very pleasant extra. Clean, warm/welcoming environment. Loved this place and will stay here again. Photos are true to the home. Easy access to the highway but not so close as to hear the traffic. Perfect get away.
The backyard has a creek and a bike trail. House includes bikes. Location was great. This is a duplex chalet, not an entire house however the space is very nice. By pics I thought it was an entire house. I would def stay here again!

About the host

Alaskan who tries to travel as much as I used to; I have 2 beautiful kids now. I live for the outdoors, adventures of any kind and ALWAYS the sun. I love solitude when it's what I want, but love people, culture and SPICY food. Large cities are always a fun break from Alaska, though I usually crave a beach, river or mountain after a few days in a large urban area.
Thus far I've visited and been a guest in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Cuba, Bahamas, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, India, UAE, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Croatia, and oh yeah, my neighbor to the East; Canada.
Why they chose this property
It is a gem in the middle of the metro. Not many properties are directly on Campbell Creek. This allows for the serenity a creek in the forest brings. All this while less than 5 minutes from anywhere and everything in Anchorage; hospital, airport, restaurants, bars, groceries, coffee...
What makes this property unique
The property is centrally located in Anchorage, but doesn't feel or look that way. It is located directly on Campbell Creek and has direct access to Campbell Creek Trail, which offers access to 100+ miles of trails system throughout Anchorage. Salmon run up the creek, we have moose, bears and eagles in the yard. Boats float down the creek all summer.
