The house is located on the outside of the old town, directly by the sea, along the former city wall. The inner courtyard offers peace and shade, in front of the house is a picturesque sun terrace with seating group and sun screen right on the beach promenade. The sea is about 5 meters from the house, the bay has been attached with natural stone slabs to a comfortable lying zone. With the local stroll you can also comfortably go to other bays. The thick stone walls keep the building pleasantly cool, the air conditioning in the living area of the ground floor can be supported on request. Next to the dining area there is also a sofa on the ground floor, which can be converted into a sleeping place for 2 persons. A decorative fireplace complements the ambiance. The kitchen is also on the ground floor, accessible from the living area. It is small but complete and functional.
A separated wooden staircase leads to the upper floor, where the bedroom is located. In this one there is a double bed according to historical model as well as a pull-out sofa, also suitable for 2 persons as a comfortable sleeping place. In the bedroom is the access to shower and toilet.
In the immediate vicinity there are several restaurants with a wide range of Mediterranean dishes. Within a few kilometers you will find gourmet restaurants (among other things also focused on the Istrian truffles) and renowned wine cellars at an internationally award-winning level. The olive oils from the area are first class. A variety of medieval towns are only a few minutes away, such as Motovun or the artists' village Groznjan. Along the coast are the towns of Novigrad, Porec, Rovinj or Pula, just to name a few.
In the wider area (80 km) is the Adelsberger Grotte (Postojnska jama) in Slovenia. Once a week, Venice is served by a fast boat, ideal for a day trip. Trieste also offers a one-day excursion. The impressive National Park Brijuni (an island group in front of Istria) can be visited with a few boat trips.
In the season from May to October, there is a wide range of cultural activities in the Umag area, from classical concerts to techno festivals. A small museum, within 5 minutes walking distance, gives an impression of the historical Umag.
The sporting activities in the surrounding area include good signposted cycling and hiking trails, diving, sailing, tennis etc. Umag is also known for the annual international ATP tennis tournament.
