Spectacular Terrace Overlooking the Duomo

Façade and Roof Restoration: Currently there is restoration work underway at the building and scaffolding covers the exterior. The work is supposed to be completed in mid-2025. An elevator up to the apartment should begin construction (finally) in July and be completed in late 2025 or early 2026. (I've been waiting 16 years for the elevator to start - so light a candle for me!)

Belvedere Duomo is Florence's most beautiful location for your Italian holiday. Located literally on the side of Brunelleschi's Duomo (only 27 meters or 80 feet away), the two level apartment has a large terrace for dining (for 8) and relaxing in the shadow of this great dome, the third largest Church in the world. After an extensive two year renovation, this property is 'new' in the shell of a 12th century structure. The amenities of the apartment are as you would find in a luxury hotel suite, with a gourmand's kitchen, computer hookups and wi-fi, washer/dryer, and an elegant all travertine bath.

The apartment is on the fourth level of the building, with 88 steps well worth the journey. Assistance is available for an additional charge to help with luggage upon arrival (please arrange before arrival).

Spend a once in a lifetime vacation at one of the most historic sites in all of Italy. Belvedere Duomo comfortably sleeps 4 in 2 comfortable beds, a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen sofabed in the living room, with ample storage and unique original artwork and sculptures throughout the apartment.

One step onto the terrace of this magnificent unit, and you will understand the historic importance and splendor of Florence.

Spectacular!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Ron was the most responsive and helpful host I’ve ever encountered and the view from the terrace was one that we will never forget! The place was very clean and I hope we can return to Florence one day and stay here again!

Fabulous apatment overlooking the Duomo

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 days in this beautiful place. The location was great with easy walks to all sights in Florence. Paulo was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and other places to see in the city. The apartment was very comfortable and the memories of the view will last a lifetime

Fabulous Balcony!

This is my second stay at the apartments and loved it as much as the first. We rented both units to have enough bedrooms and baths for everyone. Both units are spacious and well equipped. The balcony is spectacular at sunrise, sunset and everything in between. Looking forward to our next stay!

Sunrise with The Duomo

Watch the sun come up sitting on the patio with the Duomo. There isn't a better view or proximity to this majestic landmark! This aspect of the apartment turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay in Florence. Evening view just as magical.

End of Summer Splurge Worth Every Penny

Spent three nights in the Belvedere Duomo duplex apartment. We found it well designed, beautifully furnished, and full of ammenities. Without question the top-floor terrace looking across to the upper reaches of the Duomo was the closer!

Amazing! The views...the location...perfect!

Amazing view

To say this has a view of the Duomo is misleading as you can almost touch it! The apartment is beautiful, well maintained and has everything one could need. The manager Lucca is delightful and was so friendly and helpful. The owner was very responsive as well. The location adjacent to the Duomo is perfect and surprisingly quiet. We will go back and stay there as this is a special place.

Beautiful location

This property is really unique. The location on the Duomo Piazza and right accross from the Duomo is terrific! The crowds die down around 5 pm and it's very quiet and relaxing after that. Easy walk to everything from here. There are a lot of stairs to the apartment as Ron notes in his listing and if you have a car the garage is a bit of a walk, so next time I will make arrangements for a porter to take the luggage to the room from the garage.

Perfect location and extraordinary views

This apartment is a jewel. The location on the Piazza del Duomo is central to everything. The view from the kitchen is breathtaking with the Duomo towering just over the balcony. Paolo, the local manager is extremely affable and is available to assist with many different aspects of a stay. For americans this also may be the only properly air conditioned space in Florence. The apartment was a great respite to cool off in and enjoy after a day of walking and enjoying the city.

Best location in Florence

Wow, what an experience... My family's first trip to Europe and this was the kick off to a wonderful trip. The accommodations exceeded our expectations! The pictures do not do the apartment justice, you must see it to believe it. Perfect location, center of city all major attractions are within walking distance. Local manager, Palolo was very hospitable and a great help. If you are looking for the view of a life time, this terrace is it! We will most definitely be back.

Heavenly.

This property is simply amazing. The view is stunning. The apartment is beautifully decorated, very well maintained and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. It's amazingly quiet considering it is in a very busy area in Florence. Convenient to all the sights, restaurants, shopping. The manager, Paolo, is very good to deal with and very helpful. I was thankful for all the steps to get to the apartment. It helped burn off some calories!! Loved this apartment and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Would love to return for another stay.

Fantastic experience

The apartment is fantastic! The location is ideal, the view from the terrace is kinda ridiculous it is so stunning, the interior is very well-maintained and the amount of space (there were two of us staying there) was perfect. As someone who loves to cook it was incredible to go to the nearby market or store, buy wine and groceries, and cook dinner in this great kitchen with a stunning view outside the window. I would HIGHLY recommend this place and I will definitely stay there anytime I am lucky enough to be back in Florence. A tremendous find! And Luca who met us on our arrival/departure could not have been more friendly or helpful. He was terrific.

Beautiful and best place to stay in Florence

This apartment has the best view of the Duomo and is in the best location in Florence. I almost hate to say this because at some point in the near future it will be impossible to rent. Comfortable and convenient to see Florence, this is where you want to stay. Currently there are about 100 steps to the top patio overlooking the Duomo. But I understand in the next year or so there will be an elevator installed to take you to the top. But you get used to the steps and you are doing your heart a favor. If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay in Florence where you can cook or at least make your own breakfast, you have found it. Plan your trip and rent this apartment and go.

We stayed there a few years ago and still remember it.......

We stayed in this apartment a few years ago with our kids (then 12 and 14). It was amazing. The view is absolutely the best in Florence (if you like looking at the Duomo and who doesn't), The owner was fabulous. He honored something which changed from the time of booking to the time of staying and took the high road without my even having to ask. Class. The manager was delightful. Great location from which to see all there is in Florence. Quality linens. Fully equiped kitchen. I have recommended it to friends and family and would not hesitate to stay again if we return to Florence. Basically, a four star hotel but you can make your own meals and have a private deck with the best view of the Duomo in the city.

Unique Apartment in the Heart of Florence

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Belvidere Duomo for 4 nights. The multi-level apartment was extremely comfortable and had everything that one could need. Ron has done a great job decorating the apartment and staying here was truly a unique experience. The location was great and a few blocks from the train station. You can walk most anywhere unless you are venturing outside of the city center. Whether in the morning, afternoon or night, the terrace was great. It is one of the best, and most unique, features of the apartment. One caveat-one must walk up four floors to the apartment, although as the days passed, the walk up seemed shorter and shorter. Finally, the glowing praise from those guests who have taken the time (including myself) to describe their experiences in Ron’s guest book is a testament to what a special place Belvedere Duomo is.

Best Location in Florence Ever!!

First off, Ron and his Management were very informative on what to bring, what to expect regarding the steps up to the apartment and even offered to purchase items from the store to get us by until we had a chance to go shopping ourselves. We met Robert at the door, he let us in and helped with our luggage. He had our groceries in the fridge, wine on the table and showed us around. Second, the location is unbelievably AMAZING!! Our photos look like postcards with the famous Duomo just a wine cork throw away. The terrace is just magnificent and a great place to take a load off and soak in the views. We visited the downstairs wine and cheese shop that Mickeal owns almost every day for a bite to eat, amazing wine and to hear about the stories of his family that has owned the 3 shops downstairs for over 100 years. I can't say enough good things about location and the owner Ron. We will for sure be back with our family and rent the apartment across the hall that Ron owns. Ciao!

Florence Belvedere

This was the perfect apartment in Florence. The view was spectacular, even better than the photos showed. It was great to have a fully equipped kitchen, including a small freezer, as well as the washer/dryer. Lucca was very gracious and helpful, available for any questions, although the information provided in the apartment "owner's manual" explained things well. The business card folder was great for getting telephone numbers for dinner reservations! I would highly recommend Ciro and Sons and Gustavino for either lunch or dinner. We spent most evenings on the terrace, admiring the Duomo, enjoying the bells and the sounds from the piazza, and enjoying a Brunello, cheese, and mostarda. Once the doors and windows were closed, the apartment was absolutely silent, such a treat in a city center apartment! Thank you so much, Ron and Lucca; we hope to be staying at this lovely apartment again in the future!

Like having the Duomo to yourself

The location of this apartment can't be beat. You litterally have an amazing balcony that looks directly at the Duomo - as well as a view of almost the entire city. We spent lots of time really looking at the exterior architecture of the Duomo from this bird's eye view. It is truely like having a museum piece all to yourself to admire. The apartment is comfortable, modern and well appointed. It is located very close to everything so we had dinner out and cooked meals in as well. The 88+ steps are a challenge, so pack light. But once you get settled, they become routine and walking those steps means you can eat all the amazing food you want! Paolo was wonderful (as was Alberto). He made us reservations for a great local restaurant on our first night which helped us settle in right away. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the bed is exceptionally comfortable and something you will cherish if you have travelled in Italy. Our stay here was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy.

Amazing apartment

Not sure i can top the many reviews that are here. The view is amazing, the location fantastic. The perfect location/apartment for our 2 week stay in Florence. Couple of hundred feet from Duomo, yet really quiet. . Luca took care of everything before and when we arrived. Was very helpful, and very patient. Thanks Luca!! Can't say enough about the apartment. Truly breathtaking view from the terrace. Whatever you like. Cook? no problem, great kitchen and eating area (and the view ...) Don't want to bother to cook? No problem, Run out and get something to bring back. easy ... everything is right there. If/when we come back - we would not hesitate. Would not bother to look for anything else. Fantastic. We had a wonderful trip and this apartment contributed so much to it. loved it!!!

The powerful presence of the Duomo from the upper living room and kitchen (unique around the entire Duomo) is breathtaking and hard to put into words. The Duomo becomes 'part' of your Florence experience, from a vantage point that only you can enjoy.

Located literally next to the Duomo, Belvedere Duomo is only a few minutes from the Uffizi, the Train Station, the Central Market and San Lorenzo (Medici Chapel), and the Galleria Accademia (David). The apartment is a 'new' property, completed restored and rebuilt after 2 years of intensive work, including wonderful appointments and conveniences only found in a luxury suite in a fine hotel.
