I served on the board of Tahoe Cedars Property Owners in Tahoma from 2000-2004 working on several programs. In driving the development of the West Shore - Best Shore and The West Shore is the Best Shore trademarks, this was done to formalize the long held affectionate name reference. The property owner's association can now use and market the taglines to promote the highly desired west shore with the intention for proceeds to go back into the community. The license plate frames that I developed - the original chrome and black license plate frames with the bear paw sold like hot cakes and 100% proceeds given to the Marie Sluchak Community Park. Many folks still ask for it! We have a 30 year established El Dorado County dog leashing and licensing ordinance - safety and well being of dogs and citizens is top of mind - we have been able to reduce the large packs of dogs that ran wild in the streets and yards without any consequence or control. Having supported bear protections obtaining funding for aversion efforts that encourage bears to go back into the forest without harm. As a champion of the west shore I know we can continue to improve the quality of life and understanding between part time, full time homeowners and tourists. As a banking and payments entreprenuer, have been in my own consulting practice for many years, working for card companies, banks and processors launching many Visa related programs and products. I finished graduate school in 2010 with a MA in 21st Century Leadership at St. Mary's College in California. I love France and as a Francophile, hope to live there someday and emerse myself in the language and culture! Have huge black male 7 year old IntCH Bouvier des Flandres 'Handsome Hutt' who is my companion and best buddy!
Corinne purchased this house in 1998
I rebuilt the original 900 square foot main chalet that faces 4th Avenue keeping the original framing (beams), the roof and stone slab foundation is original. I then expanded to accomodate guests while adding a dining room, 1.5 car garage, detailed breezeway, new decks enhancing the property including full scale landscaping, all over a period of six years. A true labor of love. After ten years, with all the positive feedback and interest I decided it was time to share it! Come on by - there is no place like it - great price too for the bundle of amenities, conveniences, quality and beauty of the property inside and out, central location, access to lake and the Homewood Ski Mountain just minutes away!
Chalet de Huttlinger won the 2009-2010 Garden Glove Award this year for Tahoe Cedars Tahoma, so the very large yard, lawn and blooming flower boxes and urns, sitting areas and having the various little squirrles, chipmunks, (sometimes Black Bears) and the many birds that sail in for a sip in the fountain are reminders of the beauty of nature all around just by stepping right outside the door or onto deck. You will love it!
I wish I were still there! We love traveling with our Labrador Retriever and she loves to hike, snowshoe and swim. This home feels like a home and is by far the cleanest, nicest and most comfortable house that we have been able to rent with the dog. We arrived late due to a storm and the lights were on, candles lit, wine and cheese waiting for us----ahhh. The week only became more relaxing from there. The house is in a great location, close to trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing and very close to Homewood ski mountain (which is great for kids). Everything in the home is just as described. I strongly recommend this home especially for couples or families with older kids as the bedrooms are in different parts of the house connected by a breezeway.
We were lucky enough to ring in the 2017 New Year at this beautiful chalet. The fully stocked kitchen made cooking dinner a breeze, multiple fireplaces kept us warm and toasty, and the hot tub was a total blast in the snow. We were extremely impressed with Corinne's level of hospitality. Upon our arrival we found a handwritten welcome note, wine, cheese, brownies from Tahoe House (a delicious bakery we ended up frequenting four times) and even a bottle of champagne to toast with at midnight. She truly went above and beyond!!! We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Tahoma home with us.

Traveled in from the California Central Valley for a short vacation and some quality R & R – the chalet is fabulous, interior, exterior, amenities and concierge treatment, all first class, yet comfortable and welcoming – a real home feeling. Super clean and organized, gorgeous outside spa. Thank you Chalet Elves!
Adorable chalet! Family friendly. Very cozy. Loved the extra special touches like cheese in the fridge, a bottle of wine, brownies from the local bakery and even treats for our dog! Can't wait to return to this lovely chalet!
Came to Tahoe for some R & R from work and physical rehab after back surgery and found this jewel on the West Shore! OMG gorgeous - the Host and "Chalet Elves" ensured a great arrival and stay. For the price, there is nothing like it - it's a private residence that is fully loaded, "classy" yet "cozy!" Done lookin! Will definitely be back, can't wait for Winter skiing and sharing this great property with the rest of my family. BTW, can't even believe it is dog friendly.
Well, I would of given this 5 stars, but when I first went on VRBO to inquire about this lovely Chalet, the price stated $419.00 average nightly....however, when I booked the property it went up $100.00 dollars....I went on VRBO right after I booked it, and noticed the price change......I was Not happy about that since I was charged the "new" rate and couldn't do anything about it.
On the bright side, Corinne the owner, was over the top on the extra amenities that she provided.....Maybe, that came from the extra $100.00 dollars we paid.
We loved our stay there none the less......downside, steep stairs to get to bedrooms....main house bedroom was upstairs, but you had to go downstairs for the bathroom. For older people, that can be a downside. The studio bedroom, adjacent to the main house, has steep stairs going up to the bedroom, however, bathroom was on same level....
The whole house was beautiful and amenities galore.....you would Not have to bring a single thing except your suitcase and belongings...
Corinne was a joy to talk to and an amazing decorator!!!!!!
Guests of this property will enjoy our private Tahoma beach, pier and buoy field use.
