My name is Paula Caycedo, born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. I am a Biologist with an MSc in Ecology and Evolution at Amsterdam University. I live in Asheville, North Carolina, and work in bird ecology and Nature conservation.

Our house is part of the city's architectural heritage. Being the owners of the place for more than 50 years, we have witnessed our neighborhood's changes, formerly with English architecture and extensive gardens. Few houses maintain their original architecture, and the green spaces have lost area, turning into buildings. We decided to renovate our place to perpetuate the architectural beauty of Bogota city, complying with and respecting all construction regulations for this type of property. We created a stunning pollinator-friendly garden with a landscaper from Bogotá. We used native plants that offer food and shelter to birds, butterflies, and other beautiful insects. Our cozy apartment is isolated from the city's noise by the garden's lushness for the enjoyment of our guests as a space for relaxation and well-being.

Our place is a modern and cozy apartment, very calm and silent. Nevertheless, it is centrally located. We are walking distance to nice and trending restaurants and entertainment areas, such as the Parkway and the G zone. One of the most important Colombian rhythms is Salsa. Just around the corner is the Café Bohemia bar, a traditional bar where you can hear, feel and dance Salsa. We are at 15 to 20 minutes from the downtown of Bogotá, where you can visit historical places. Drugstores, grocery stores, local food markets, banks, cashier machines, and hospitals are also walking distance.
The station for the public transportation Transmilenio is just 3 blocks from our place, so you can move quickly from our house to any part of the city.
