About the host
Hosted by Jared Finck
Hi!
We’re Jared and Corey, two brothers with a passion for the outdoors who decided to follow a dream and buy a ski house in Killington. We’re lifelong snowboarders, hikers, bikers, climbers, campers, and general lovers of all things outside, so creating a welcoming mountain retreat felt like a natural fit.
We named the chalet Château Charmaine in honor of our mom, Charmaine, who passed from AML in 2018. She had a flair for the beautiful, eclectic, and vibrant, and we worked hard to bring that spirit into the home — blending retro mid-century style with modern comfort to create a place that feels both fun and inspiring.
Being hosts is an extension of how we live: we love sharing spaces that let people connect with nature, relax after a day on the slopes, and build their own memories.
We’re responsive and approachable — we want every guest to feel cared for. If you have a question or need anything during your stay, just reach out. We’re always eager to help and always open to feedback on how we can make the experience even better.
We hope you feel the warmth and personality that went into this home and that your time at Château Charmaine is as special to you as it is to us.

Why they chose this property
We chose this spot for its perfect mix of mountain energy and peaceful retreat.
Château Charmaine sits on a quiet, wooded road just 7 minutes from Killington’s K1 Lodge, so you’re close to the lifts and the action but can still unwind in a calm, natural setting.
In winter, it’s all about the slopes — you can be on the mountain in minutes and back at the chalet soaking in the hot tub by nightfall. In summer and fall, the same trails become hiking and biking routes, and the foliage turns the hills into a breathtaking backdrop.
We love that this neighborhood feels tucked away but not remote: it’s peaceful enough for stargazing and evenings by the fire ring, yet restaurants, après-ski spots, and shops are just a short drive away.
The setting really brings out the best of Vermont — crisp mountain air, star-filled skies, and a sense of escape without giving up the convenience of being near Killington’s resort base.

What makes this property unique
Château Charmaine isn’t just a ski house — it’s a time capsule of style and spirit.
Built in 1969 as a Killington vacation chalet, it keeps much of its original character, including the warm board-on-board pine walls that give the home its cozy mountain feel.
We leaned into that heritage when furnishing the chalet. 1969 was the year of the moon landing, Woodstock, Abbey Road, and hopes for peace in Vietnam. We wanted the design to honor that vibrant, eclectic era — so you’ll find a velvet green chaise, a record player, a lava lamp in the loft, and a funky ring chair in the master suite, all paired with the comforts you expect today: a fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, cozy bedding, and USB charging lamps.
Large A-frame windows in the master suite frame the forest, making you feel tucked into nature. The loft lounge with its games, TV, and retro accents is perfect for kids and kids-at-heart. Outside, the 8-person hot tub, fire ring, and horseshoe pit make it easy to enjoy the mountain air year-round.
Château Charmaine combines mid-century nostalgia with modern convenience, offering a space that’s stylish, soulful, and welcoming — a place to unwind after your adventures on the mountain.
