Wake to the sun rise over the river and relax to the moonbeams at night from this charming homestead quietly situated within steps to the Hudson River in a town bustling with activities: kayaking, biking the hills and plateaus, fishing, casual & upscale restaurants, night clubs. Easy or moderate hike at Falling Waters Preserve 1/2 mi away. River view from every room in this 7 room house. And in the winter a short drive to the Catskill ski resorts.
Kitchen has new electric oven with range, microwave, coffee, supplies. Comfy beds & cotton bedding; 1 Queen bed and 2 full size bed- sleeping for up to 6. Large living room with tuned piano from the early 1900's with a tin pan ally sound. While this home has all the conveniences of contemporary living the charms of the 1940's has been maintained. You will find TV's with ROKU and also DVD's and CD's with a collection series of the Waltons for your enjoyment.
Outdoor BBQ. 5 min. to vibrant village of Saugerties and Horse Shows in The Sun (HITS). Nearby Hunter Mountain/ North Lake/ Woodstock & Bard College and many historical sites. FDR estate; Vanderbilt Mansion, Mills Mansion and Olana State Historic Site, Opus 40.
This home is at the top of a short hill overlooking the Hudson in the town of Saugerties. It is approximately 120 paces to the river and 2 blocks from the Glasco mini park. Lots of history and nature to be enjoyed including Eagle and Osprey sightings The village is 3 miles from Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS). Restaurants and shopping plaza are with 1.5 miles. Browse around Woodstock 12 minutes away. Falling Water Hiking Trails a short walk from the house. Host lives nearby and is readily available and willing to provide you with answers to your questions and a history of the area.

Welcome to my place. The home I am offering to host you at is my family homestead. I live 2 blocks away. This homestead has river front property and beautiful
river views, frequented by eagles, ducks, beavers, woodchucks and fox. It is also just 2 blocks from the Glasco mini park with a fishing dock, boat and kayak launches and picnic tables. This property was once the home of T. Ciarlante and sons' Crystal Ice Company where ice was harvested from the river. Glasco supported many immigrant families who came north to work in the blue stone and brick industries along the Hudson.
The house you will stay in was built in 1941 and it preserves many of the treasures from the early days- photos, antiques and the treasure of a 1913 Sterling Piano recently tuned and ready for respectful playing and a 1941 Kalamazoo kitchen stove (for viewing only.) In addition to the antiques you will have all the modern accommodations. TV in bedroom, induction cook top with up to date pots and pans, microwave, Mr. Coffee, full fridge, and medium size electric convection oven.
