La maroneta - family friendly property with Tuscan flair

The recently renovated country house built in 1891, with typical Tuscan flair, is the ideal retreat for couples, families or even groups to discover Tuscany.

The house is located at the foot of the Apennines and thus ideal to discover what Tuscany has to offer. By car, you can reach Pistoia within 10 minutes. Florence, Vinci and Lucca are about 30 minutes away. You can reach Pisa and Viareggio in about an hour and Siena in about 90 minutes. A nice opportunity for a trip to offer the surrounding old villages and nature parks. The forest of the Apennines starts directly behind the house, so you can walk from there on the forest paths, the olive tree plantations, or vineyards. The city center of Pistoia, its medieval streets and buildings are a sight. Pistoia was honored in 2017 as the Cultural Capital of Italy. La Maroneta is equipped with three large bedrooms (1 double bed per room), two living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and three bathrooms (two of which have a shower). Thus, the house offers enough space for families or groups.

You will be met on arrival and given the functions of the house. (Gas stove etc.) Afterwards, the entire system is at your disposal for free, undisturbed use. However, we are always available by phone and will be you
best support possible.

La Maroneta is equipped with two fireplaces and a stock of wood. We own our own water source, fruit trees and wine
Olive plantations. During the harvest season, if necessary, a trip to the olive harvest can be organized free of charge. We are happy to welcome families with children.

Within an hour you can reach many cities, the beach, or the beautiful Apennines with their parks in the area. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the rich diversity of the local culture as well as the culinary delicacies and to explore the different natural conditions. Relax in the idyllic nature surrounding the house.

Great Retreat

Beautiful house in quiet environment. The house is large and friendly. Excellent facilities including bathrooms and kitchen. A 10 minute drive to shops and Pistoia but the town is well serviced. 35 minute train to Florence.

A well-equipped, comfortable house in an excellent location.

The house is large and well maintained with a quiet garden/recreation area and an orchard of olive trees and grape vines. It is in a peaceful, secluded location near forest, but is in easy reach of local places of interest: Pistoia, Florence, Prato, Lucca and Pisa. Our host was friendly and responsive to our needs. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased with the space. We were concerned that the kichen might night be adequate based on the pictures, but it worked perfectly. The beds are comfortable. Lots of comfortable clean space. This was the perfect space to launch our visits to other cities by car and train. Florence, Lucca, Sienna, Montecatini Alto and more. Mosquitos were an issue so we didn’t spend as much time outdoors as we would have liked. Fortunately the living room is spacious and bright. We'd open the screened windows and door and have plenty of fresh air.

A beautiful villa just on the perimeter of Pistoia

The villa is extraordinary. Big and beautiful rooms, with a very high-tech system for water and electricity. We did not experience any power interruptions, but I'm confident that this house would have continue to operate for a few days without any problem.We did find some insect material in one of the drawyers, but this is a semi-remote villa, and it is difficult to keep all pests out, especially during the off-season.The host was gracious, and an excellent communicator. We really enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful old villa in quiet location

We really enjoyed our stay at La Maroneta. The villa has been carefully and lovingly restored - excellent windows, different, beautiful lights in every room, lots of paintings on the walls. There's plenty of wood for the fireplace, the kitchen is well equipped (even a nice tea pot) and the garden is well maintained with enough lawn furniture. Each of the three bedrooms is individually and practically furnished with wardrobes, chairs and mirrors. The villa is not far away from Pistoia, yet secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful countryside. The communication with Jacopo was easy, the check-in very comfortable with a key box and the instructions we got prior to our arrival regarding the appliances in the villa were very helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Tuscan retreat

Beautiful traditional Tuscan farmhouse set in lovely peaceful landscape. The house is well equipped with everything you will need. The rooms are all large and airy and, importantly, every window has a mosquito screen. The beds are big, comfortable with nice quality linen and each bedroom has more than adequate storage. In particular we loved the covered terrace and spent most of our evenings there. The local co-op shop is a five minute drive away (you will find only basic provisions there)and there is a bar/cafe directly opposite. There is a a much larger co-op on the outskirts of Pistoia and also an Aldi. The host,Jacopo, is very helpful and full of information. We loved our stay in La Maroneta and hope to return later this year.

Super Unterkunft - Top Platz für den Toskanaurlaub

Die Unterkunft ist komplett ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Der Garten ist top und bietet viele Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen. Einzig die Mücken sind zwar leise stechen aber ordentlich - Anti-Mückenspray nicht vergessen :) Innerhalb kurzer Zeit ist man in Florenz, Pisa, Lucca oder am Meer (Spiaggia libera Marina di Vecchiano als Tipp für einen freien Strand). In Pistoia findet man um die Ecke alles was man zum Einkaufen oder Essengehen braucht. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub in La Maroneta!

Prachtige, grote vakantiewoning

Het contact met de eigenaar verliep prima. Er kwam heel snel antwoord op eventuele vragen. Qua faciliteiten was alles aanwezig wat je nodig hebt. En dichtbij alle mooie steden in Toscane. Goede keuze.

Wir ( Ehepaar mit 16jährigem Sohn und 14jähriger Tochter ) haben uns in "La Maroneta" sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Das Haus ist ausgesprochen geräumig und gut ausgestattet, der Garten gepflegt und sehr schön, und die Lage ist für Exkursionen bzw. Städtetouren ideal. Sehr nette Vermieter ! Zwei kleine Einschränkungen, die hier aber nur der Vollständigkeit halber angeführt seien: Keine Geschäfte wie Bäckerei oder kleiner Laden in fußläufiger Nähe, und manchmal war es wegen der Nähe zur vielbefahrenen Landstraße und den Gewerbebetrieben unterhalb des Hauses ein bisschen lauter als wir uns das gewünscht hätten. War aber definitiv kein Problem; wir können "La Maroneta" absolut weiterempfehlen.

Questa esperienza la consiglio vivamente a tutti. Casa in ottime condizioni, pulita, e un salone veramente splendido dove fare cenoni o pranzi in compagnia. I proprietari sono persone molto disponibili e gentili. La casa è strutturata come nelle foto con un camino che mantiene la casa nella calda, insomma non manca proprio niente. La consiglio a tutti sopratutto per la tranquillità della zona e lo stile rustico e antico della casa. Voto 10.

Très agréable

Située au bout d'un chemin de terre, la maroneta est une maison très accueillante et reposante. Située à 5 minutes du centre ville de Pistoia (une très jolie ville), la maison est à proximité de nombreux commerces (accueil souriant et service efficace garantis). Florence et Pise sont à 30 mn par l'autoroute. Les chambres sont vastes et les pièces communes (cuisine, salon et salle à manger) sont propres, bien équipées et très agréables. Le jardin est un lieu idéal pour une sieste ou une lecture sous les arbres (attention toutefois aux moustiques...). Bref un lieu de séjour parfait !

We just loved it :)

My family and me stayed in La Maroneta at the beginning of July 2018... and we just loved everything about this beautiful house. Doesn´t matter what you need, the house has just everything to make your stay comfortable (the owner even organized a baby bed and chair for our 1 year old daughter). Vassilica did her best to help when we needed it and we could contact anytime with Jacopo who responded every question in short time. At the end of our stay we had the pleasure to get to know Domenico and his wife. They gave us a lot of information about Pistoia. So everybody was really interested in making our stay perfect. The location of the house was what we were searching for. Just a few minutes outside of Pistoia (where you find supermarkets, restaurants, shops...) surrounded by nature. It was really central to do some trips to most of the famous Tuscany cities: Florence (20 mins), Lucca (30 mins), Pisa (60 mins), Siena (80 mins). Thanks to everybody for making our holidays such a pleasure! We will come back for sure :)

Simply Stunning

The cottage is perfectly located for a base to your Tuscan holiday. It is so well located in fact, that it is close enough to a very well serviced town and far enough that your peace and tranquillity is assured. The cottage is simply fabulous with everything that you need to spend a perfect week / fortnight in beautiful Tuscany. There are all the creature comforts you need but on top of that there is the fabulous tranquillity and peace from the fantastic countryside that surrounds you. The owners Father and Mother live in the adjoining property ( certain times of the year) and they are simply wonderful sources of local knowledge and history. I can happily remember the fabulous mornings sharing a coffee and the time of day just chatting with both of these lovely people, all of us happy just sharing the wonderful experience of a fabulous Tuscan morning. There are no negatives from our stay in this wonderful place and I am sure that my family and I will return to sample this little piece of paradise again. Thanks to the owner, his wonderful parents and Homeaway for making our holiday such a great success.
