Vacation in a Magnificent Staffed Home in Centro with POOL!

Bedrooms 5
Space 6,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 6.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

In the heart of beautiful San Miguel awaits a luxury retreat that's perfect for entertaining friends and family, yet is comfortable and warm enough for just for one couple. With beautiful interiors, 11-foot-high ceilings, and loads of light in all the rooms, this new home is one of the most spectacular places you can rent in one of the world's most enchanting towns!

Casa Tres Hijos is an immaculate, 6500-square-foot, light-filled, open home with an American-style great room (kitchen with marble island, dining area and living space in one 50-foot great room), as well as 5 gorgeous bedrooms, each with a private bath (including two master suites with soaking tubs and double vanities on the first floor), a kids' den/TV room, a separate study, and three terraces for lounging and sunning.

To add to your enjoyment Casa Tres Hijos has a large grass yard in an 800-square-meter lot, one of the largest you'll find in centro; a 25-foot, solar-heated pool (heated by gas if you wish) with a deep end; separate 12-person Jacuzzi; outdoor BBQ area; two rooftop decks, on the second and third floors, with gorgeous views to all of San Miguel's churches and hills; and a long covered porch with stone arches facing the pool, perfect for entertaining and relaxing.

The charming interior boasts five large bedrooms--four with king beds and one with twins--all with soft linens, neutral soothing interiors, and blackout drapes for a good night's sleep. Downstairs are two of these king bedrooms, a den, and the wonderful living room/dining room/kitchen. Upstairs are three more light-filled bedrooms (two kings and one with twins), as well as the children's TV/playroom. Other amenities include the solar-heated/gas-heated pool and Jacuzzi, and pressurized, purified water. Drink from every tap!

If you've ever wanted to take a month off, learn Spanish, experience another culture, or just pamper yourself, this is your chance. No cleaning, no laundry, no housework, no gardening--let our helpful staff do it for you. We can even provide a cook if that appeals to you.

The pool is the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing and walking the atmospheric streets. Or sit on the covered porch, dine under the stars, or have a cocktail overlooking the Parroquoia from the second-story patio with its olive trees and herb garden. One of the main benefits of this house is the tranquility and quiet, a real treat when living in Centro. Not to mention that you can walk everywhere from here.

We are located in the upscale La Aldea neighborhood--a quiet gated community of Mexican and ex-pat homeowners. Located off Zacateros and Ancha San Antonio, we are an easy 10-minute walk to the jardin (main square), and even less to the Instituto Allende, the new world-class Rosewood Resort, beautiful Parque Juarez and a host of gourmet wine and cheese stores, organic markets, craft stores, and restaurants (all within about 4 blocks).

This is the perfect spot for your next family vacation. We welcome kids! You will not find another house this big, beautiful, light and well-located in all of San Miguel. Come see for yourself!

About Ann Hillers

We are a family of 5: Sam and Ann and three super boys, ages 13, 15, and 17. We spent six full years in San Miguel as part of the vibrant expat community here, but moved to San Diego in August 2015. Now our house is available to share year round. Sam is an English teacher and Ann organizes international tours and writes travel brochures.

Ann Hillers purchased this house in 2009

Why Ann Hillers chose Zona Centro

We fell in love with San Miguel the first time we arrived here--like everyone! San Miguel is such a magical place and when we are home here, the beauty of the town and the beauty of our experiences here are only magnified by the sweet sanctuary of our new house. It's one of the most peaceful places we know in San Miguel and the place folks wants to come to to relax, rest and play.

What makes this house unique

The sound of the mourning doves at dawn...the donkeys who graze in our corner park when they're finished selling their wood...the proximity to centro, but without the traffic and the noise...the quiet of our little neighborhood and most importantly the fantastic convenience to everything we love to do in San Miguel: walk, go out to eat, visit the local tiendas for produce, meat, and fruit, shop along Ancha San Antonio, enjoy tapas and live music at Cafe Rama, and occasionally, go to the Luna Bar at the Rosewood for the best view in town. All are an easy, easy stroll from our house!

A stunning house in an unbeatable location.

  • 5 of 5

This is an architectural magazine-worthy house.

Every single design detail is outstanding; from the blend of Mexican colonial and modern features, to the stunning modern kitchen, the pool and spa, the lighting and landscaping, the art on the walls - you name it.

There is not a bad bedroom in the place- each of the 5 is very large, with a wonderful spacious modern bathroom, comfortable large beds, great lighting and views, and patios or terraces. The rooms are all larger than they appear in the photos.

There were more outside sitting areas than our group could use during our week's stay!

The housekeeping staff was very friendly and efficient. All bedrooms and common areas were

serviced every day, so the house was maintained impeccably.

The house is in a small gated neighborhood, La Aldea, that is perfectly located at the very entrance to the central historical district. Getting to the Jardin central plaza is an easy 10 minute walk up a gently climbing street.

At the end of the week everyone in the group was still talking about what a wonderful house we were staying in. It is that kind of a place. It exceeded by far our already high expectations.

San Miguel de Allende, of course, is lovely. I can't think of a better place to rent for your stay in order to enjoy it.

PERFECT home in awesome city!

  • 5 of 5

As others have stated, the pics did not do this house justice. It was everything and more we had hoped or could've asked for. My husband and I brought our 3 adult children and their friends and we all had our own private areas. Gorgeous furnishings, artwork, textiles, details, etc. so many vignettes to relax together or alone, different areas where we all played games. Truly, we wanted to stay there all of the time, but we did venture out into the city and it couldn't have been easier. The location was perfect, only a few blocks to shops, restaurants, stores, and just a few blocks up the hill to El Jardin, the town center...easily walkable. Excellent food of different ethnicities were found all around. We also opted to stay home one night and cook in the chef's kitchen. And how could I forget to mention Luzma, the housekeeper! She was there every morning by 9:00, cleaned, cooked breakfast for us one morning, did laundry, just made the house spotless every day, as well as her son keeping the yard and pool clean. I simply cannot say enough things about this gorgeous, private, huge, well-appointed house! We highly recommend and to return, as well! Thank you for sharing your fantastic San Miguel home with us!

Unbelievably Beautiful, Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful, amazingly decorated home was the highlight of our girl's trip to SMA. The house is even better than the pictures, believe it or not. It is centrally located (15 walk to the main square) and convenient to all sorts of shops, restaurants and the Jardin. In a quiet, gated neighborhood. We were in the pool every day and night and the open concept living and kitchen welcomed us every morning. Did I mention all of us wanted to take every piece of art in the place home? This is an authentic home with every detail taken care of. We cannot wait to visit again - as this is our new vacation home away from home. The owner was fantastic, attending to every detail and incredibly responsive on the fly. I cannot recommend this vacation home enough!

A stunningly beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We arrived after dark, entering through a beautiful door that led into a safe and lovely property. First sight - the swimming pool lit up, showing off the surrounding open seating and covered porch. Breathtaking. The modern kitchen was one of the many modern elements that were built into a new home that blended in beautifully with the colonial accents. The art in the home is stunning.

The floor plan of the home was well thought out - each bedroom large and inviting - giving personal space to all. The bedding and linens top notch - made for some very comfortable sleeps.

As for the location - it could not be better. Walking to the Jardin a bit uphill - but very doable. Many good restaurants within walking too - and safe taxi's/drivers are easily obtained. Gated community was nice for security and the house set back so noise was at a minimum. It was over Christmas, so of course lots of fireworks and such - part of the wonderful celebrations of that season.

Having said all this - our hearts were stolen by our housekeeper Luzma and her son Jesus. Beautiful, loving people who worked so hard to make us welcome. This was our favourite part of all.

San Miguel de Allende is jewel - culture, shopping, history, fine cuisine, language institution and world class art....... what more could you want! I will be back!

Barrio La Aldea is a private community in the Colonia Centro (central district) with ample street parking and no through-traffic located at the western edge of the historic district. It is where Zacateros and Ancha San Antonio meet, opposite the street that the Rosewood Hotel is located on. It's the perfect location for walking to all local attractions, bars, restaurants, organic markets, craft fairs and the Saturday Organic Market. It's biggest advantage is the ease of parking and the quiet! As it's a series of just four streets in a square accessed by an entrance road you do not have traffic moving through the neighborhood. There is also a lovely community garden at the end of the block with cactus, fruit trees, grass and other local plant specimens.
