Located in a prime North-end spot, families can enjoy ocean views from the east-facing deck while experiencing minimal traffic disturbance. Kids will love playing games in the lower-level rec room, which features two double beds and serves as the fifth bedroom. The casual and comfortable furnishings invite stress-free relaxation.

The fully equipped kitchen comes with all the necessary appliances and gadgets for preparing delicious beach meals and snacks. Bring your bikes to explore the quiet neighborhood streets, and enjoy easy beach access just steps away from the house!

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 5 vehicles.

Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Great place. More rustic then where I stayed last time but very comfortable with kids not as worried about accidents

My family and I had a great time in Hess house. The beach access was close and the house layout was good. The house is very dated and could use some improvements. Overall everything was great and we would rent it again.

Family vacation

The location was good close to the beach, and the place had a lot of space and room for everyone. But like I said it just needs a lot of updating done to the place. other than that we had a wonderful day

Love the place and location

Having come back to Hess for the second time and probably we will be back next year, tells a lot. I love the set up of the house and it is just a few yards to the beach. It is close to church and the grocery store.

A modest house within easy walking of the beach. There were some maintenance issues with lighting and a significant problem with the refrigerator which we reported as we left. The kitchen was well stocked but without larger pots with lids that matched.

Just know what you're getting

Great location, plenty of beds, and very close to the beach. Everything is VERY old and have been cleaned so much over the last 50ish years that the finish is gone on all cabinetry. Cleaning crew did great and everything went smoothly with check in and out, but the owner needs to step it up and take care of the property. Vacuum leak in sliding door obstructs view, water damage around multiple windows and multiple ceiling areas, broken glass on coffee table just taped back together, and the list goes on. With that being said, cleaning crew had it as clean as they can get it and all appliances worked so if you're ok with a dingy house and just care about the beach then this place is a bargain.

Moldy beach house

Loved the location and shady deck with a table, chairs. The house has a good layout. There are molds on ceilings in most or every room. Electrical wiring through-out the house needs to be updated. Stove needs to be replaced. Dining room is dirty and moldy pot holder was in the middle of it. Issues are overwhelming. House shakes and some family members could not sleep. The house should not be rented out in this condition. Maintenance staff doesn’t know much. We talked to several agents and all said they will talk to the manager but even after we checked out, no real general manager reached out to us yet. We had a great experience in last fall but really disappointed this time.

Looks can be deceiving

These pictures must have been from 10-15yrs ago. The house, the deck, the furniture, is way more weathered than these pics make it seem. We had issues with the house holding a cool temperature. We couldn't use the backyard, it's made of sand, weeds, and sticker bushes. I would not walk on that deck barefoot. Uneven boards, nails rising out of them, hasn't been treated in years. Otherwise the location isn't bad. A short walk to the beach, it's a hot one, but not too long. Many other homes surrounding this one look 100% better. Offering pools or better hangout areas. We were really disappointed with Hess.

Awesome location, bad service, mediocre house

Let's start with the positive: - the location is unbelievably good: 2 minutes walk from the ocean. - clean bed linen and towels House is mediocre at best: pretty old. It is shaky, when somebody walks the stairs, you feel like you are on waves, feels dangerous. - showers and taps were leaking Bad: - Our first day of reservation has been cancelled 2 days before. Given we are from Canada, some of us just had to spend one extra day/night on the road. There was a refund for the first day + Vacasa credit towards the next trip + a lot of apologies. - Non-existent (at least, I would expect more): dust everywhere - we had to vacuum; dirty dishes and utensils. - the AC system unit is located pretty much in one of the bedrooms, i.e. a lot of noise.

In need of an update…

Hess is situated in the third row with super confident beach access. The exterior of the home looks to have been updated however the rest of the house needs attention. We would not rent this property again. The deck is incredibly splintered and hard to walk on. The grill is rusted to the point of not being useable. The kitchen stove burners do not all work. One was replaced for us during our stay and it blew out again. Supplies in the kitchen (pots, silverware) are not well stocked. The kitchen and living room furniture are terribly uncomfortable and should be replaced. Many lightbulbs were burned out. Curtains are falling down and windows require tools to properly close. One shower knob does not function well and the tub shower combo is in bad shape. It was serviced while we stayed due to water pouring into the laundry room when turned on but it could use an upgrade as well. During our stay we had to have a plumber, cleaner, and a dry wall person visit for repairs along with the stove being serviced. This is inconvenient while on vacation. With the proper attention and upgrades this small home would make a great basic vacation property but we would not recommend staying in its current condition.
