About Melanie and Jim Buckshaw
We built Black Ankle Lodge as a getaway home. We have a love and respect for the outdoors. This cabin is special to our family and we visit it often. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Melanie and Jim Buckshaw chose Cherry Log
We choose to build Black Ankle Lodge on this site because of the endless Chattahoochee National Forest behind it. It offers total privacy and wildlife viewing. We had a wounderful time during our stay. The house was perfect and it was close to one of my favorite spots in the world...Three Forks. It is a great location in general. We will be back.
Thank you! We hope you return again!
Fantasy and magical!

Great cabin, great setting, great trip away
My kids and I really enjoyed this cabin. The place is very peaceful and the house is well-appointed, stocked, and maintained. Kids asked if we could live there and just commute to school!
Our kids used to feel the same way! Glad you had a great time.
clean, spacious, private
we enjoyed the weekend even with all the bad weather and rain we had
Glad you still enjoyed your stay, come back again.
We had a beautiful Christmas, everyone was happy and fit comfortable. We stayed for five nights and they went by fast. My family can’t wait to go back!
So glad you had a great family Christmas at our cabin. Please return!
Had an amazing adventure at this beautiful house
We definitely experienced an adventure different from what any of you will enjoy but we ended up enjoying the cabin with no water or electricity due to a blizzard! This has never happened to renters and regardless of the inconvenience due to natural causes we had the most incredible time enjoying the BEAUTIFUL snow, sledding, making s’mores, bbqing, playing board games, and venturing around the home into the trees and steep hills. While it wasn’t the most glamorous of situations, it was easy to make the best of it when the home was so cozy and beautiful. We’re looking forward to returning for a completely different experience and recommend the trip to anyone and everyone. Great owners and neighbors made us feel welcome and comfortable as well. Enjoy your adventure!
Thank you for the kind review, Dyann, and for being such good sports about the snow storm! Over a foot of snow and frigid temps. I know you don't see that in Miami! It was an adventure for all of us! Beautiful indeed. Please visit Blue Ridge in a warmer season!
