A warm welcome.
Our apartment is located 7 km from the center of the town of Schopfheim in the Great Wiesental, at the entrance to the Little Wiesental, directly at the foot of the southern Black Forest (Black Forest with Feldberg, Blauen and Belchen), which is also a very popular starting point for motorcycle tours and tours for racing cyclists. Mountain bikers get their money's worth here anyway,

From here there are numerous excursions / bike / boat and hiking opportunities or day trips to the Black Forest (e.g. Vogelpark Steien, Feldberg / Titisee / Schluchsee, Erlebnispark Steinwasen and much more); Alsace (Tuniberg, Freiburg, Breisach / Strasbourg, Europapark Rust etc.) and Switzerland (Rheinfall Schaffhausen, Schifffahrt Rhein, Bernese Oberland, Zurich etc.) The city of Basel with museums and sights can also be reached by S-Bahn in just 35 minutes (hourly). The golf course from the Hausen Golf Club can be reached by car in 10 minutes.
The house with approx. 115 sqm over 3 floors offers space for up to seven people, 3 bedrooms (4th on request), living room with sofa (emergency bed - can be pulled out as a sofa bed), fireplace and TV; spacious dining area with open kitchen; at the entrance with cloakroom and guest toilet.
The kitchen has a 4-ring ceramic hob with oven, large fridge with freezer, microwave, dishwasher, standard coffee machine and TASSIMO coffee machine, kettle, toaster and complete cooking and kitchenware.
Bathroom with bathtub / shower / sink / toilet; Gallery on the top floor with fitness equipment, couch / table and additional sofa bed for 2 people 160x200 cm, foosball table; Terrace with seating and grill station and lawn.

Haus Kristall

This property has to offer one of the most relaxing holidays you could ever hope for. It is ideally situated for visiting The Black Forest, Switzerland and the Alsace Wine Route. The rail and bus connections from Schopfheim are excellent and reasonably priced and the town is friendly and charming. The host, Michael is very attentive and helpful and the property itself is first rate. The constant chirping of crickets and the babbling of the beck opposite are the soundtrack for complete relaxation. The meadows are full of majestic storks and there is a charming evening walk across the meadows to Wieslet where the Krone does fine meals. I was even lucky enough to see my first ever Red Backed Shrikes (Neuntöter) on the walk back! Highly recommended.

Nice place in the black forrest

We have stayed at many VRBOs before and this was one of the nicest ones. It was a bit more remote than the description "Schopfheim" suggests but you can see it if you actually look at the map. It is perfect if you are into hiking and the outdoors. We were there with three generations: us, our kids and our grandkids. This place is not really set up for a one and a two-year old but it worked. I had communicated with the host ahead of time that they don't have any kid safety items there. So if you need a high chair etc, you need to bring it yourself. There were plastic cups though but no plastic plates. The apartment stretches over three floors but if you keep an eye on the kids/stairs, it works really well. We all had a great time. The host lives just downstairs and is super responsive to emails and requests. Other reviews had mentioned the not so hot shower - we eventually figured out to turn the heat almost all the way up to get it hot. But the regulation really is a bit difficult. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need for cooking. And it has a dishwasher! The living space is generous. We were 5 adults and 2 kids and had plenty of space to sit. It is tastefully decorated. The host has a very extensive rock collection - fortunately place high enough that toddler hands cannot reach it. There were three bedrooms with doors on one floor and another bed in the loft. It worked for us, though a small dresser and/or hooks/coathangers to put away clothes for those staying in the loft, would be nice. The house is heated with a heat exchange system which worked well. None of us was cold (we even turned down the radiators; and we were there in December) and we did not need the fireplace. Garbage is supposed to be separated into plastic, paper and other trash. The host provided plenty of trash bags that we just put outside the front door and he took care of them. We tried to leave it clean (though not required but there was a broom to tidy up) but with a fairly early departure and two "helping" toddlers, we may not have been as good as anticipated, Overall, we had a great stay and can highly recommend it.

Tolles Haus mit nettem Gastgeber

Das Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen, gross und gut eingerichtet. Michael war sehr nett und alles hat gut geklappt. Im Haus hat sogar ein zweites WC, das nicht in der Beschreibung gestanden ist, was für eine grosse Gruppe wie unsere super war. Wir werden gerne wieder einmal kommen.

Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und immer erreichbar. Eine sehr gefplegte Wohnung und gemütlich eingerichtet. Es war alles sehr sauber. Die Küche war sehr gut eingerichtet. Wir waren Wiederholungstäter und kommen gerne wieder.

Een gezellig huis met fantastisch uitzicht

De eigenaar is zeer vriendelijk en had het huis mooi aangekleed met kerstversiering. Alles is aanwezig voor een ontspannen verblijf. Het huis is netjes en schoon. De slaapkamers zijn groot en comfortabel. Voor de kinderen is er een fijne speelzolder, met tafelvoetbal, biljart en nog veel meer. Ook is er een spelletjeskast en heel veel boeken om te lezen. De vele kristallen en stenen dragen bij aan een gemoedelijke sfeer.De omgeving is prachtig en je kan vanuit het huis direct het bos in om te wandelen, of te sleeën in het weiland. In de omgeving is van alles te doen of te bezichtigen. We hebben een heerlijke ontspannen tijd gehad en komen graag terug.

Tolle Unterkunft und Gastgeber

Der Aufenthalt war wundervoll. Die Gastgeber haben wir als zuvorkommend und stets ansprechbar erlebt. Bei der Ankunft gab es eine Irritation, da im Inserat 4 Schlafzimmer angegeben sind. Reine Schlafzimmer gab es 3. Schlafmöglichkeiten waren ausreichend vorhanden und auch alles, was wir sonst für einen tollen Urlaub brauchten.vorhHwsonst alles

Schöner Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge

Wir haben das geräumige , ordentliche, gepflegte Haus als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die größere Umgebung genutzt. Es ist gut geeignet für eine Familie mit älteren Kindern (viele offene Treppen, viel Deko könnten für Kleinkinder unpraktisch sein), für uns aber prima. Es war alles gut vorbereitet für uns (gemachte Betten, Grill stand mit Kohle bereit usw) so dass wir uns gleich wohl gefühlt haben. Die Ausstattung ist auch prima, Küche hatte alles für uns Notwendige. Bäder mit Handtüchern, Seife usw.( Handtücher wurden sogar ausgetaucht, nach einer Woche !) Betten sind nichts für große, breite Leute, das war schon etwas eng im Doppelbett, obwohl wir schlank sind. Wir konnten auch den Garten nutzen und druften sogar die Zucchini zum Eigengebrauch ernten.Schaukel war auch da und ein Ball. In der näheren Umgebung ist nicht soooo viel los. Spielplatz mit Tischtennisplatte und Fußballplatz haben wir genutzt, da kann man zu Fuß hingehen. Bei einem Auftritt der Blaskapelle im Gemeindehaus waren wir. Aber ansonsten war in Enkenstein nichts weiter (auch kein Supermarkt), aber das war uns klar. Parkplatz stand immer zur Verfügung. Der Vermieter war für alle Fragen und Probleme erreichbar und hat sich immer sehr schnell gekümmert. Alle Abläufe und Absprachen (Buchung, Abreise usw) waren total problemlos und unaufgeregt. Kann ich also auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Haus ist rauchfrei.
