Favorite place in the keys

I have been to Bakers Cay twice now and this is my favorite resort to stay at in the Keys. Staff is always incredibly friendly on property amenities are plentiful and the food is incredible. Will be back!

What a find! Wonderful resort!

This resort was great! The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were well appointed, clean and updated. The property was beautiful and great four us and our 3 year old. They had kids and adult activities and the food was good as well. We will be back!!!

Great Property!

This is a beautiful hotel in Key Largo! Very quiet and has a wonderful beach/lagoon. Plenty of activities and relaxing. It would be great for a couples and families. My only complaint is that the walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the room next to you. Just bring a sound machine and you will be fine!

Easy Check In Great Service

The property is great and the service is great. Clean rooms and plenty of activities for the kids and the adults. The availability of activities at the beach and pool give ample opportunity to enjoy yourself. The property does offer day passes to people that are not staying at the property so there is some conflict for resources. They also allow pets so there are dogs barking and throughout the property - unnecessary in my opinion. But the rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful

Great stay with family!

Overall, we had a wonderful time at Bakers Cay. It was my 3 kids (10, 6, and 2) and my wife and me. They have a lot of kid friendly activities at the resort each day. Plus, they have great water frontage on the bayside of Key Largo with two beach options. One is a nice resort style beach with rafts to lay on and a nice swimming area. That area also has paddle boards, kayaks and more to use. The other half is a quieter side of the resort with mangrove trees that you can sit and relax under at the water’s edge. Our room in the Hammock Wing overlooked this beach area. However, there were weddings 2 of the 4 nights we stayed, and they commandeer that area of the beach under the mangroves. It made it difficult to even use the balcony in our room on those nights, let alone the quite mangrove beach area. I feel we should have been given a heads up about this on Wednesday when we checked in. Plus, I planned on using that area the last night we were there on Saturday to sit by the water. After finding the perfect spot around 1 pm, we found out around 1:30 pm we needed to leave the area for a wedding happening that night. That was a big drawback to my wife and I and why we rated this only 4 stars. The other nitpicky thing is the resort can get very crowded at times. There were a couple times when we left the resort and came back only to find there was no parking. That was frustrating. Also, the pools are very nice but it is not a huge area. The pool could get very crowded at times.

A Lovely Escape

This resort has an upscale, yet totally relaxed, feel. I'm so glad our room was in the Hammock Wing. It was completely comfortable, nicely appointed and with perfect beds! My husband prefers a very firm mattress, where I like something a bit softer - we both slept comfortably. The balcony was a dream - we had our morning coffee looking at the bay through the filtered light of the wonderful Gumbo-Limbo trees. I did not experience noise from neighboring rooms as I had read in some of the reviews. The rooms were occupied, but really the only noise I heard was from foot traffic outside the room. Not a problem at all. I was worried there were too few chairs at the pool, but it was never a problem to find two available lounge chairs no matter what time of day we went to the pool. The heated pool temperature was perfect. There are great books to borrow at the library area of the lobby. By far my favorite part of the resort was the Hammock Beach, where you can indulge in a quiet read under the trees by the bay, listening to the water, looking up at the birds. Just wonderful. There are two restaurants on the property as well as a beach bar and a poolside bar, and while the food was pretty tasty, the wait to be served was rather long and the meals were expensive as many reviewers have noted. Also, there is a 20% gratuity added to the bill. I did take one of the bikes out on the path northward to pick up takeout from some of the area restaurants - added some variety and saved a few dollars. Lastly, the staff were very accommodating, and do a very nice job with the small details that make a stay notable. I look forward to visiting again.

It's a Room at a Hilton

Overall experience was good. Did not know this was a standard Hilton Hotel room. Wish there was a sink and micro at least. Room and property could use updating. Need to research how VRBO is offering hotel rooms as rentals by homeowners. Weird.
