Escape to this lakefront retreat and experience a memorable vacation with the ones you love the most! This gem is perfect for families traveling with kids and small children - there are all the amenities needed for a breezy stay with the little ones, including a children's playroom in the basement. Let your kids have the most amazing time with a large smart TV with cable, bean bags, toys, and games. This room has an attached full bathroom for your convenience as well. The family room on this level also features a smart TV with cable, a Tipi tent, and a Wii console.

Upstairs, an inviting open floor plan will greet you! Admire breathtaking lake views from your private deck and experience unforgettable meals alfresco at the outdoor dining areas available (seating 14). The gas grill will be ideal for warm-weather barbecues! Back inside, the living area features a smart TV with cable and comfortable furniture. The small, but efficient kitchen has you covered with all major appliances, including also a wine fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. There are four seats at the dining table and three extra spaces at the breakfast bar. This level also features two bedrooms (one of them being a bunk bed) and a full bathroom. And last, but not least, the third level hosts one bedroom and a full bathroom.

Lovely little spot! Aside from most of the light bulbs being burnt out (easy fix), this place really is a gem. We came in December but hope to come back sometime this summer.

Beautiful location

Beautiful location, clean property, very nice communication with property managers. We really enjoyed our stay. Only issue was the back door was very difficult to open and close and lock. Still a wonderful five star stay.

Great Location

This was a great location to lake and conveniently located to access. House has wonderful views and ample space for a family. Dock area was just perfect for swimming and lounging, and docking, with easy access from house.

Sweet Retreat Memorial Day stay

House sleeps plenty of people. Double bunk bed is great. Plenty of parking. Porch is awesome. Grill works for the most part. Kitchen was easy to use. Appreciated the disposal and dishwasher. The manager/host left a cleaning care package with supplies. Plenty of towels and they were all clean.

Nice getaway

We enjoyed our stay. It was tranquil and peaceful. It was only two of us, but there's plenty of room to bring the whole family. The beach area was great for swimming and launching our kayaks. We also went fishing from the dock and used the firepit.

Upon arrival we had trouble accessing the property. The deck’s sliding doors were very difficult to open and close — as well as the basement door. We had trouble locking the doors in addition to their opening problems. The house needed a more in depth clean — there was food on the floor and mold on top of the fridge. Many of the dishes were not clean and had mold on them, but that could have been due to previous visitors. The dishwasher was not attached properly and would not stay open so it was difficult to use. Overall, the house wasn’t clean, but the dock and beach were very nice! The only problem with the outside was that the fire pit was missing its bottom. The deck also had a beautiful view and a good dining area! We did love the location and appreciated our stay.

Almost there

The dock and beach are really nice. The house was mostly clean but could use some detail work. The back door could only be locked by a piece of wood. We wanted to enjoy the deck but the cushions were ripped and it was dirty. Too hard to clean ourselves for a short stay. Wish there had been a hose available on the deck with furniture we could have easily hosed off. That was a big part of why we wanted to stay.

Not bad for short gateway

Over all our stay was good) Here is the advantages: - perfect location - enough space for big family - great communication with rental company - I like that it has dish soap, detergent, shampoo, soap, toilet paper to start and it was actually enough for our whole stay Disadvantages: - WiFi really weak ( you won’t be able to work from this place) - mattress’s in some rooms are extremely uncomfortable need to be replaced, this one of the big disadvantages - few rooms were renovated but this place does need some investment for sure. - kitchen doesn’t have enough staff for big family like we had enough plates but only 2 mugs

We thought it was great to be able to check in late and to have the paid check option, so thanks for those! The responsiveness of your staff when a)the key code didn't work and b)we couldn't get the track lighting to work was appreciated, thank you. However, ultimately, there was a never a solution to the track lighting (just lots of phone time) and the entry lockpad (which is not of a type featured on your helpful guide, btw--it doesn't have a handle) was sort of wasted time for us. Given it was a holiday, and given the massive spread that is Lake Anna, we understand that an electrician couldn't be found in the area. Consider adding more floor lighting to compensate--there was one lamp in the living room. In the end, we could not get the lockpad to lock when we left--we had to lock it from the inside and go out through the sliding door, arranged so that the wood stop would fall into place. The venue is nice enough but could use a deep cleaning or new paint on the rims above the floor and heater vents. Kitchen mostly had the right components. Heating worked well. View was great. Neighbor used a leafblower for almost the entire day on Friday, but oh well. Otherwise, it was secluded and quiet, quite tranquil, a nice site overall. We liked it but we're not sure we would return. We may try to find another Vacasa site.

The lakefront location was great for kids with some sandy beach front to play fish and swim The house was not cleaned well and I did not receive timely communication around questions I had . The Wi-Fi was bad and resulted in a trip 30miles or so to get my work done . Checkin process was ok . Overall we liked the lakefront property but the experience could have been better

Labor Day Getaway

We spent 2022 labor day weekend on the lake Anna. For those who live in Greater Washington area the lake Anna is a perfect place for a short vacation and the Sweet Retreat property is a perfect place to stay for 3 eldery couples. We enjoyed swimming, fishing from the deck and sitting around campfire in the evening. Quiet place, nice weather, warm water, a bit of fisherman luck - what else does one need for a short vacation at the end of summer?

Quiet Escape with great fishing

This home is exactly as advertised. Clean with ample space for my family of five. Having a beach is great and the pier was beautiful. My family loved swimming and fishing. We caught sunnys crappies and catfish right from the dock and saw some bass but weren’t able to catch any. The house was located on a really quiet section of the lake where we just floated the week away. We only saw maybe 5 boats each day. Also really cool to see a lot of wildlife. The skies were filled with egrets herons hawks and even a bald eagle. Had a really nice time.

My stay at this property

Hi overall the property was exceptional priced a bit high for the outdated kitchen and appliance. The property does have an excellent dock and lake front view which was very enjoyable. The property manager on the other hand were terrible, zero communication on follow-up with questions. The internet was down the whole weekend so I had to cancel work calls that ended up being lost in my compensation. The property management was not sure which router was the internet. Told me that someone would come fix it. No one came to take a look at the internet afterwards no one replied. Overall great property terrible property managers

Beautiful view and so relaxing

Overall, this is a great house and we had a great experience. The house was clean and the view is amazing. The seven of us from two families have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals over the years and we know there is always something with all rentals, but this one had just enough minor issues to warrant 4 stars instead of 5. Most of the issues are (I suspect) temporary and if we'd been staying longer than two days, we would have had maintenance come in (Vacasa was very easy to work with!) but we just wanted to enjoy the two days rather than worry about maintenance coming and going. The issues that were a bit more problematic and not fixable by maintenance is that the bedding arrangement listed is not what was in place - there is no queen bed, it is instead two single beds so that was a bit surprising for the second couple, but we worked around it. There were also two boat trailers on the property that were just sort of haphazardly left there, as well as a number of home improvement supplies (paint cans, rollers) left in various places. Minor repairs are likely needed and I suspect they are in the middle of improving this further so again, for two days, it wasn't a big deal. Once those are addressed, I suspect this could EASILY be a 5-star property. It has fantastic views, the house was really clean and while the kitchen is small, we were able to find a way to make it work without too much issue and it definitely helped prevent the "too many cooks!" issue! So that might actually be a good thing. :) I think that a general clean up of some of the items that the owner likely leaves around for convenience would make it feel a bit more welcoming to renters, but honestly, we had a great time, loved the calm, mostly private swimming area, beautiful views (did I mention the view? It's got a beautiful view) and the highly important part that the house itself felt clean. So as long as the different bedding arrangement works for your group, this is a really great rental, especially with a few minor clean-ups of extraneous items.
