We loved being directly on the beach. Quiet neighborhood and comfy beds. Would stay here again. Had some pest issues, but was resolved during our stay. Host was gracious and had excellent communication with us the whole time.

We had a literally perfect trip to Cayucos, Journey’s End was a complete delight. We did not need a lot of help from Lauren but whenever we did she could not have been more attentive and helpful.

Lauren was great about answering our questions! The home and setting was beautiful and relaxing! Everything in the house was user friendly and comfortable. What we enjoyed the most was the view! From the courtyard with all of the beautiful flowers, to the furnishings to the beach. We got to see otters, seals, dolphins and whales from the home! It was all so wonderful. We only rate it a 4 out of 5 for expense because the cost is not attainable for most and probably only this one time for us because it was a gift. We are so thankful for the opportunity to relax and enjoy! We even had otters swim by us!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The home was exactly as described. We especially enjoyed the outdoor patio for morning coffee and evening relaxation.The location was ideal — close to local shops, restaurants, and hiking trails, yet quiet and peaceful. Communication with the host was excellent.We would definitely stay here again!

We just returned from a wonderful 3 nights at your charming cottage on the beach in Cayucos. The entire cottage is as perfect as the photos show. Immaculate, squeaky clean, decorated perfectly and comfortably, and a view of the Pacific Ocean right in front of your eyes, with no obstructions. Fresh flowers, a note, cookies and a bottle of wine. All welcoming gestures. And our host Lauren was very approachable if we needed her, which we really didn't as the cottage was perfection

“Journeys End” was a little slice of paradise in Cayucos! Incredible sunsets, awesome beach for daily walks/runs, beautiful landscaping, firepit and several outdoor options for hanging out. Inside offered comfy beds, pillows and a great couch for reading or snuggling up for a movie. It was just what we needed… a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and comfy cottage on the beach. Top of our list of the many vrbos we have stayed at… we will go back for sure! Absolutely loved it!

Amazing Stay!

This is our second time staying at this beautiful home! Everything was perfect! It was so tough to leave, but we definitely hope to come back again in the future! The hospitality was amazing, and the location and view can’t be beat!

Three of us stayed at Journey’s End from Thurs-Sat. Access was seamless, place is cute, view is awesome. Thurs eve/Fri morning we were in downtown Cayucos, so wasn’t until Fri afternoon that we saw the first mouse scurry across dining room floor to hide under fridge. We had read house’s extensive handbook upon arrival, which mentioned that sightings of mice or other pests might occur, with a number to call if it was bad. Didn’t think it qualified as bad that afternoon, but by bedtime, fridge mouse was getting bolder. It was too late to call at that hour, so went to bed early and ladies sleeping downstairs stuffed towels under their doors to keep it out. I was bunking in the attic, however, and heard regular scratching under my bed overnight, so finally climbed into another bed in loft to try to get some sleep. By Saturday morning, there were at least three mice downstairs, running around kitchen, dining and living rooms and ultimately into the downstairs bedrooms. Called to report shortly after 8 am, and got ready to check out early, as we considered that pretty bad. The owner was communicative, letting me know that our situation had never happened before, and offering me a free night if I were to return, but not a refund, as I had not reported it until departure day. Ultimately she did refund the cleaning fee. I’m not sure what’s fair in this situation, but I wanted to let people know that mice can be an issue at Journey’s End (this was not in any prior review).

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry for the distress the mice caused during your stay. We wish we had known about the issue the moment it happened rather than on the morning of your departure; had we been notified right away, we would have sent pest control out immediately to resolve it. As soon as you let us know on checkout day, we dispatched pest control to take care of it that same afternoon. Our technician noted that unseasonably warm weather has pushed more wildlife to seek shelter lately. This is the first time we have ever encountered this issue, and we have taken extra preventive steps since your visit to ensure it doesn't happen again. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention, and we were glad to provide a refund and extend an invitation for a free night on a return visit. We hope to welcome you back for a seamless, five-star experience in the future!

Fabulous Location!

This is the 4th time I have stayed at Journey's End. The location could not be better - right on the beach. The home is lovely and has every amenity that you could need. I look forward to returning again next year!

We had a wonderful time. The home is in such a central location to services yet right on the beach. The house is beautiful, roomy with lots of nice patio areas. Rooms were large and beds comfortable. Fresh flowers on arrival!
