Very nice 1 BR just off of Pearl St. and only two blocks from Spruce Pool.
Worked really well for our family with two small children. Living room is a nice size. This apartment is on the upper level with its own entrance via a set of stairs. Some patio space at the bottom of the stairs, though that could be prettier.
Lots of storage space in both rooms and the hallway, good and spacious kitchen, two parking spaces behind the house. AC worked well during the summer months, as this is an upper level apartment it does get very hot.
Best washer I've come across in the US. No carpet, but hardwood floors and tiles, which we loved.
Pete and Cindy were very helpful whenever we had any issues.
Over the last few years we've been staying at quite a few different apartments, and this is the one we will definitely try to rent again next year.
An ideal place to stay while visiting Boulder!
I stayed in this flat on the upper story of a 2-story house during a 5-week working visit to Boulder. It was really ideal. The location is central, close enough to walk everywhere for dining downtown or shopping (whether groceries and bakeries or other items), yet still very quiet because it's a block away from Pearl. I often have trouble sleeping while travelling, but had no such difficulties here. The bed was in excellent shape and the bedroom had ample closet dresser storage. The kitchen is fully supplied and allows proper cooking, not just preparation of light meals. It has an extra roomy feel because of the open eating area (which has a table and bar stools), and it gets lots of light in the evening. The middle room between the bedroom and kitchen with a couch and TV was great for lounging in the evening. The air-con worked like a treat during the heat wave in June, and the wi-fi was excellent strength throughout the flat. The whole place was very clean and well-maintained. To top it off, the host (Pete) was just great, responding really fast to questions and problems. Thanks Pete for an awesome stay!
Loved Boulder and this apartment. Great location right off Pearl St., yet nice and calm neighborhood. When you walk out the door you look straight up at flatirons for a great view. This place gets my full recommendation.
Loved our stay!
Modernized; quiet; wifi; outstanding location; nice TV--we had all we needed! Thanks!
Location Is Everything
I really enjoyed my week in this little Victorian apartment. The remodel is fresh and spacious, with a well-appointed kitchen and roomy bathroom. The windows allow a great cross breeze is you prefer, but I was thrilled when I arrived on a 100º Boulder day to an air-conditioned, dry, clean space. I hope it is available the next time I come to Boulder for work!

About Peter Dempsey
I moved to Boulder in 1982 for my first job out of engineering school. I moved into an apartment in an old victorian and my next door neighbor in that apartment is now my wife of 31 years! We purchased the house on Spruce when we married in 1985.
Peter Dempsey purchased this Condo in 1985
Why Peter Dempsey chose Whittier
In 1984 my wife and I bicycled across America. We lived in Boulder at the time and realized after touring the country that Boulder is very special. I have been a nordic ski racer for 38 years. We share a love of cycling and I still love to run the trails close by. Boulder provides the perfect mix of proximity to great outdoor adventure and yet has all the amenities and diversity of a college town. It is not too big and not too small. The city planners had the forethought to purchase open space and keep a greenbelt on the edges of town. Enjoy Boulder, I know we do!
