Pali Kai is located on the fun side of the canal. The Olympics are in your backyard, so in addition to all the watersports in your front yard, you have all the activities and mountain sports your body and mind can endure!

Once you have worn yourself out, come on back to the house and relax in the quiet seclusion of Pali Kai , no neighbors, no traffic. Lounge on the 20'x24' sundeck, off the second story master bedroom. Surrounded by 2 acres and 240 feet of waterfront, Pali Kai insulates you from our civilized world, for as long as it takes, until you can face it again.

The location far exceeded my expectations, what a marvelous place!It was nice to meet the owner at check-in and we appreciated all the tips he gave us to enjoy our stay. The house had everything we need, including beach towels, beach shoes, and kayaks. It was very hard to leave this paradise!

Great view of the puget sound

Great place with great views. Lots of room for the whole family. Nice location. Lots of oysters ready to eat down by the beach. Kayaking available. Hiking nearby. Hoodstown has a cute little coffee shop and grocery store.

Amazing view and comfortable house

Our stay was great. House was very clean and very well stocked. The view is breathtaking! Loved having the covered front porch as it rained most of the weekend. John met us at the property at check in and was very nice and informative about the property, shellfishing, etc. very happy with this rental.

Just book it!

This is a great retreat, perched above the canal, isolated from the highway by a bit of driveway. As they advertise, this is not just some rental, but their home with their furnishings where you're invited to come and stay. Our getaway was too short but we did cook local clams and eat local oysters, and our pups were welcome here too!

Excellent Hood Canal property

We stayed for four nights and wished it was longer. Everything worked. The view was great and extremely tranquil. The property itself was spacious, with great light. Having both indoor and outdoor dining was a treat as was the viewing patio. All around wonderful. We felt welcomed and cared for. We will return.

Great family getaway!

Pali Kai was a wonderful relaxing getaway. We had a wonderful time enjoying the scenic waterway and getting oysters for dinner. The sun deck was a bonus with another place to take in the outdoor beauty. The house was a perfect set up for our family of 6. John was a great host and very helpful😊

Great hosts. John and Cindy were there and explained the features of the property. Home is in very good shape with plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, blankets/comforters, etc. Beach is accessible down a short path to the water. Outstanding views from the deck and front of the home. Overall, great getaway!

Wonderful Pali Kai

We stayed at Pali Kai for only 4 nights, too short a period for such a fabulous house and interesting community. Harvesting oysters at our house, clamming near-by and enjoying Hood Canal was relaxing, different (we're from Hawaii) and good fun! We were lucky to attend the annual Sequim Lavender Festival, that was great too. Thank you John and Cindy!!

So great

John and Cindy are wonderful and kind hosts. They made it clear that they were available for whatever you needed. Property was incredible. Exactly as described. Probably one of the best rental kitchens I have experienced. Only thing they didn’t have was a coffee grinder! Literally everything else they had. Grills worked well, plenty of propane provided. Harvested oysters during low tide. *chefs kiss* as fresh as you can get. Property is secluded and quiet. Path down to the beach is a little sketchy, but my parents (ages 60+) made it down fine. Just go slow! Comfy beds in every room. 10/10 would stay here again.

Great place on Hood Canal

We really enjoyed our stay in the Lilliwaup area for a month in Sept/Oct 2024. The house was two stories with a detached garage. The master bed and bath we used were on the second floor and were quite large with a king bed. There were dressers but very little closet space. This bedroom has direct access to the large patio area over the garage and has a view of the water. The master bath has a shower only. There is another bedroom on the second floor that shares the upstairs bathroom with a king and twin bed. The third bedroom has a king bed and is on the main floor and has access to a second bathroom in the hallway. It has a tub/shower. The house was well-equipped, and the appliances worked well. The living room area has a huge sectional couch. The TV set was small and worked well. We used our own firestick. This was a working vacation for my husband, so he set up his work area near the dining room overlooking the water. The internet was good, and the speed of the connection was adequate for our purposes. The view of the water from the front patio was very nice. We were able to fit our large SUV in the garage. There is room for other parking in the yard. The washer and dryer are on the second floor between the two bedrooms. The area is remote, beautiful, clean, and safe. It was about a 10-minute drive to the nearest town of Hoodsport but most other places were at least a half-hour to an hour drive away on a very curvy road.

Very comfortable and relaxing setting. We enjoyed the views and walking on the beach. Unfortunately, the tide was not cooperative, so we were not able to get any oysters! The kitchen was so well stocked, that the things we forgot they had. Rooms were comfortable. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely look at coming back! Thank you for opening up your home to us.

John and Cindy were very responsive throughout our entire experience. John met us personally at the house for check in and showed us around. The house was clean and stocked, as expected, and the pictures of the property and the amenities listed were accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We will definitely consider staying here again for future visits.

Incredible Stay!

The view is absolutely stunning and the deck above the garage is the perfect place to enjoy it. The beach is just steps away and we loved collecting oysters and exploring. The space was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The owners were so kind—they met us at check-in and gave a great tour. Can’t wait to come back!

Just what we needed

After months of recovery from surgeries we needed a quiet place away from the city.There were two neighbors far enough away that we could not see or hear them. We felt perfectly isolated. The upper deck offers a panoramic view of the canal.An excellent place to get away.

Perfect mini vacation for me and my family. John is a very kind host. He made sure we have everything we need for our stay. My kids enjoyed harvesting and grilling oysters, kayaking, walking along the coast during low tide and we even saw a seal. Definitely coming back.

Awesome house with lovely furnishings

This is a fabulous rental property and ideal for larger groups as there is plenty of space (and beds) for all. It was clean and the furniture is some of the nicest we've ever seen in a rental house.Constructive criticism: be aware that the driveway is very steep and made of gravel, so be prepared as you drive down to the house. Also, the house number is NOT at the driveway entry so future renters need to check their email for more directions.

Perfect family friendly property on Hood Canal

This was a beautifully kept house that had everything we could need. They even included some TV subscriptions for the evening or a rainy day. The beds were very comfortable, the view was amazing, oysters were plentiful, and it was stocked as if we lived there. Just bring your food and clothes! We even heard a whale blow and saw it swim by the house. There is a lot of wild life in the area including eagles and herons flying by. We had a great stay at Pali Kai!

Pali Kai Paradise

We loved this property! Nicely equipped for our family getaway. Comfy beds and places to hang out. Kayaking, oysters, beach walks and great location to check out the surrounding area. Although we were so comfortable, we had an awesome staycation!

This is why we share with others ,it gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the canal and it keeps my house intact due to being used. As a owner who meets every guest it gives me the opportunity to meet people from everywhere so no strangers ever stay there, only new friends.

Palikai is unique because it so secluded, no neighbors, no hiway noise because 101 is located away from the house. If you so choose you can spend the stay without seeing other people. The Olympic mountains are accessible in a 10 minute drive, there is a award winning seafood bar 5 miles from the house. Or just eat your own off our beach.
