About this property

Original, but stylish smithy hut

The historic smithy hut from 1876, located in the Hessian mountain region, offers the ideal retreat on around 50sqm after a day full of beautiful and exciting experiences: hiking, mountain biking, trips to the region or simply unwinding!

THE ENVIRONMENT
Our smithy hut is originally but stylishly furnished and is beautifully situated on the site of a historic shepherd's farm, right on the edge of the forest. It is part of a 250-year-old courtyard consisting of the main house, the barn, the stables and the historic smithy hut. It was lovingly renovated in 2018 in a historic style and is now available to our guests. The harmonious ambience creates an atmosphere in which you quickly feel at home. At home, but secluded from the stressful everyday world.

THE LIVING ROOM
The historic smithy is simply furnished, but with everything you need for a few relaxing days: A 1.60 m bed, two wonderfully comfortable armchairs, a kitchen niche with a dining area and a small bathroom with shower and toilet are available to you. A narrow spiral staircase leads from the living room to the cozy attic, the sleeping area of the Dahler forge.

On cold days, you can end the evenings in front of the crackling fire of the wood stove with a good book and a glass of wine.

In the kitchen you will find a basic set of dishes including a toaster, a small fridge and a ceramic hob. If you like it even more rustic, you can also use a charcoal grill, depending on the weather conditions.

Bed linen is provided, towels can be provided on request.
TV and internet are not to be found - deceleration is the motto!

In addition to the smithy hut, you are welcome to enjoy our extensive garden with a pond, where you can relax and unwind from the stress of everyday life.

EXCLUSIVELY FOR OUR GUESTS
The smithy hut is only available to you. However, our house is right next door and we are always happy to help with tips about our beautiful home!

OUT IN NATURE
The panoramic hiking trail starts right in front of the door and leads over the Schäferhof estate. Through forests and fields you can walk for hours or start mountain bike tours. Numerous cultural sights, bathing opportunities or even restaurants are in the area. You will receive further information and tips on excursions - whether in good or bad weather, on arrival.

Bijzonder plekje!

Ons verblijf was door omstandigheden kort, maar hebben toch een goede indruk gekregen. Schoon huisje, en niet groot maar alles wat nodig is , is aanwezig. Plekje is op het terrein vd eigenaar, als je dat geen probleem vindt, dan is dit wel een aanrader! Vriendelijke mensen. Ook voor wandelingen zit je goed.

Prachtig huisje erg tevreden!

We hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad in de smidse hut. De locatie was mooi en de hut zag er van buiten en binnen prachtig uit. Het hutje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, het is een goede plek om even los te komen van alle drukte. Het contact met de eigenaren was ook prettig, ze waren erg vriendelijk en toegankelijk.

Wunderschön, gemütlich und romantisch

Die Schmiede Hütte ist ein herrlicher Ort um sich ein paar Tage zurück zu ziehen und einfach mal durchatmen zu können. Im Winter wird man gleich mit einem benennendem Kamin empfangen, was einem sofort ein schönes Gefühl zum ankommen gibt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr zu empfehlen. Aufmerksam und wirklich hilfsbereit bei diversen Fragen und Anliegen. Wir haben uns die Tage an denen wir da waren sehr wohl gefühlt!

Ein wirklich wunderschön restauriertes Kleinod..... Die Alte Schmiede ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und gutem Geschmack hergerichtet worden. Es ist alles da, was man für ein paar Wander-, Paddel- o. Biketage braucht. Und wenn man danach den urigen Bollerofen anheizt, was Feines trinkt und isst, fehlt zum Glücklichsein....NIX!!!

Ruhiges Ferienhäuschen zum Abschalten

Dieses Ferienhäuschen ist stilvoll und rustikal eingerichtet. Genau der richtige Ort zum Abschalten vom Alltagsstreß. Gemütlich wird es abends am Kaminofen. Ulrike und Hansi sind sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. In der Umgebung kann man sehr gut wandern und entspannen. Vielen Dank noch einmal für die schöne Zeit, die wir hier verbringen konnten.

Urige, individuelle Unterkunft

Wer einmal in ruhiger Umgebung abschalten will, ist dort genau richtig. Die Alte Schmiedehütte ist urig und stilvoll rustikal eingerichtet. Ist aber nur für 2 Personen geeignet. Geheizt wird mit einem Kaminofen, der dir kleine Hütte schnell erwärmt. Sie verfügt weder über WLAN noch über einen Fernseher, dafür liegt sie absolut ruhig am Waldrand, wir haben es genossen. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und kennen sich gut aus. Gerne wieder.
