The Wayside Cabin is a cozy, comfortable family cabin near the Sandlake Dunes and estuary just 4 miles from Pacific City beach. It is an easy home base for many nearby hikes and adventures like Whalen Island Park, Cape Lookout & Sitka Sedge. This home is nicely furnished for a family with a kids playroom, lots of games and toys and a nice back yard. The home does border Sandlake road which is not a highway but is a main road through the area. A dog is allowed but shouldn't be let out without a leash.

Layout:

Single level home. Living room, dining area and kitchen. Separate den/kids playroom. Full hall bath. Bedroom with queen bed. Bedroom with 2 twin beds. Detached garage not fully available but has storage room and outside 1/2 bath. Parking for 3 cars. Laundry facilities in the garage, family room has a desk with monitor, and the couch in living room turns into a double size bed.

Location:

This home is bordering the Sandlake estuary providing peaceful water & wildlife views (not water access from property). It is 4 miles to Pacific City, 1/2 mile to Sitka Sedge state park, and very near the Sandlake Dunes recreation area. The nearest beach access is nearby at Tierra Del Mar. This is on the Tillamook Scenic byway leading to Cape Lookout, Netarts and Oceanside.
Guests will check in at our local, convenient office in Pacific City. After hours arrivals will be accommodated.

This home is pet friendly for one or two dogs. Please let us know if you will be bringing a pet so that we can add the non-refundable pet fee of $10/night . Only well-behaved dogs are allowed. Pets are not allowed on the furniture, or left in the house unattended.

Occupancy rules are strictly enforced and apply to the entire property during the stay. Additional day-use guests may be allowed with management pre-approval. After your booking is confirmed, you will be sent the full rental contract and terms.

The safety of our staff, guests and local community is our top priority. This home is professionally managed and cleaned to strict standards in line with CDC guidelines, including supervised housekeeping and post-clean sanitation.

Cancellation policy: 1/2 the total cost of the booking is subject to forfeiture if reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of arrival. 100% of rental rate is charged if cancelled (or no-show) within 7 days of arrival. If the house is fully rebooked by another renter, cancellation charges (less $35) will be refunded. Reservation cancellation fee is $35. (If you book with a 3rd party, different charges may apply).

Exactly as advertised except more. Lovely view of estuary with ivis, marsh hawks, swallows and more. Huge backyard for playing with kids or dogs. Very cozy.

Nice coastal rental

We enjoyed our stay in this home. In the post online it says it has a bbq grill & a fire pit that we can use during our stay. There is a grill & 2 propane tanks. When we went to use the grill my husband discovered that both propane tanks were empty. So that was disappointing because we then had to cook our steaks inside which we don’t think is as good as steaks on the grill. We weren’t able to use the fire pit either due to a “no burn” policy in place. So that was also kind of disappointing. Other than those 2 things the house met all of our needs. The beds were comfortable for a well needed good nights sleep after fun days spent on the beach. It was also nice to have plenty of supplies such as dish soap, paper towels, aluminum foil, toilet paper. We also liked the hose outside to wash off sandy feet before going inside. We hope to come back again in the future.

Great yard/outdoor space

Could have been 5 star but check in was a nightmare. An Absolute nightmare 😵‍💫 Also should note cell phones dont work here so while we were locked out i couldnt even call rental company. Anyway, house is cute. I didnt realize it didnt have dishwasher. I found a few dishes were needing to rewash. Layout worked for us (2 adults/3 small children). Lots of childrens toys to keep them busy. Beds were heavenly. So comfortable! For the most part the house was clean. My kids found some old sock under the couch & an old hair scrunchie covered in dust on tv cabinet. Yard/firepit was perfect. Bbq was filthy and looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months. With all said thoigh, this was still a decent property.

Great Getaway

My wife and I stayed at this little cabin and found a absolute gem. This place is just a few minutes out of PC which was perfect for us. It was quite and is close enough that you can drive into PC in 5 -10 min, beach access in 3-5 min or even walk down to the state park and to the beach through there (20 min). The house itself was perfect (we took my older mother). It has a big yard that you can see the bay and all the amenities we needed. Including a bbq and table outside to watch the sunsets. Inside was a 2 bedroom 1 bath house stocked full of any cooking supplies needed. We would highly recommend this cabin and look forward to going back.
