Hello Jen, Thank you for reviewing your stay at Laughing Seagull! We were not aware of the hot water issue, and since you have stayed, the owner has replaced the hot water heater. As for the fireplace, there never was a remote but a wall switch to turn it on. We hope to have you return again to be able to fully enjoy all of the amenities we have to offer!
