About Jared Miller

I started visiting this general area over 30 years ago and was captured by the essence of a waterside community. I am a board certified holistic nurse, retreat leader, speaker and coach that embraces the concept of sea glass as a symbol of transformation ~ becoming stronger and more beautiful with winds, waves and sand.

Jared Miller purchased this house in 1993

Why Jared Miller chose Eastern Shore

There is a unique aspect of the Eastern Shore of Maryland - it draws your spirit to the landscape, the water, the wildlife and the expansive sky. I love knowing that this space is literally connected to all others by the water - the Chester River connects to the Chesapeake Bay and then to the Atlantic Ocean and then to... The Kent County area is rich with artists of all kinds, wonderful restaurants, local theatre and sweet little shops. Having Washington College nearby is a joy with their educational and inspiring venues. After 23 years I am still awed by the sunrises and sunsets from the house as well as the peace and serenity of the house.

What makes this house unique

The house is within 1/4 mile of a public launch on the Chester River. Watching or playing on the water and observing the watermen, boaters and waterfowl from the house/dock.

Just breathe

What can I say, or not say?! We had all the accommodations of home sweet home, only sweeter.

We took our parents for their 87th birthdays and Mother's Day. My mom cried when she stepped in the door. Said she's never seen anything so beautiful, nor stayed in a place so lovely. Keep saying she felt like a Queen.

My father has alzheimer's and parkinson's disease, so being able to stay on one floor together meant a lot. All he kept saying is "This is beautiful, I love it here." You have to understand that I'm accustom to seeing my father just lay around and sleep, so this was truly an amazing trip as he stayed awake, sitting at the table overlooking the bay

and conversing. Talk about crying! And my mother being the primary caretaker, well I'm sure you can understand what it meant to her.

We were also blessed to bring our old gal (Border Collie). She "smiled" the whole time 'cause she was with her peeps. Can't wait to return. And neither can my parents as they kept saying, "Well the next time we're here..." Memories that will last a lifetime, literally!

Thanks Cliff Point Retreat (and the Miller's)~until we return, may the Universe bless you and yours! Namaste

Loved spending a long weekend in Chestertown!

  • 5 of 5

The views are breathtaking and the outside furniture encouraged you to sit for hours. The bedding is very comfortable and the house had everything we needed to prepare meals and host family dinners. This is truly a great gathering space for friends and family.

Amazing Place With An Accommodating Homeowner

  • 5 of 5

Just as the other reviews state, this rental is top notch. We stayed during our wedding weekend and the home provided a wonderful atmosphere vs a hotel. Jared offered a linen and towel rental which we took advantage of and gave us one less thing to worry about. Of course, I can't leave out the amazing dock and view. So many amenities, I would recommend this rental to anyone!

Amazing experience!

  • 5 of 5

This place was truly amazing! Every little detail is well thought out, and every touch in the place makes it a cozy, peaceful retreat. Jared was communicative and considerate of the flexibility we desired to accommodate my 92 year old Mother's nap needs for arrival and departure.

This is by far one of the most pleasurable rental experiences ever! The views were spectacular, the setting was perfect, and the price was reasonable. I will definitely be going back for more!!!!

Awesome, stay during Christmas holiday!

  • 5 of 5

The home was very inviting and warm. We enjoyed the awesome sunrises and sunsets. Fixed a great Christmas Dinner for family. All the people that we connected with in Chestertown were very friendly and ate at many of seafood restaurants. All the family enjoyed our time there and will return again. Sherry & Family
