About Jared Miller
I started visiting this general area over 30 years ago and was captured by the essence of a waterside community. I am a board certified holistic nurse, retreat leader, speaker and coach that embraces the concept of sea glass as a symbol of transformation ~ becoming stronger and more beautiful with winds, waves and sand.
Jared Miller purchased this House in 1993
Why Jared Miller chose Pomona
There is a unique aspect of the Eastern Shore of Maryland - it draws your spirit to the landscape, the water, the wildlife and the expansive sky. I love knowing that this space is literally connected to all others by the water - the Chester River connects to the Chesapeake Bay and then to the Atlantic Ocean and then to... The Kent County area is rich with artists of all kinds, wonderful restaurants, local theatre and sweet little shops. Having Washington College nearby is a joy with their educational and inspiring venues. After 23 years I am still awed by the sunrises and sunsets from the house as well as the peace and serenity of the house.
What makes this House unique
The house is within 1/4 mile of a public launch on the Chester River. Watching or playing on the water and observing the watermen, boaters and waterfowl from the house/dock.

A spring retreat with seven
This river home felt so comfortable with individual bedrooms and three generously appointed bathrooms. Morning walks onto the private dock and stroll along the river welcomed the sunrise. Kitchen is well supplied and the open living space that looks unobstructively at the water is perfect!
A yearly retreat for former college roomates was lovely.
Well maintained with up to date furnishings and appliances. Great waterfront view and huge dock.
We have stayed here 3 years in a row during the winter. I can only imagine the amount of fun to be had in the summer at this spot. The property is well maintained and kept up to date. The dock on the river front is huge and kept clean. The inside of the house is clean and has a large, open layout that is great for family or friendly gathering. All new appliances as well as a new water filtration system. What a great spot!
weekend at Cliff Point
My family and I stayed for the weekend at Cliff Point and enjoyed our stay very much! It is such a beautiful spot, and although the weather was cold and not conducive to spending much time outside, we enjoyed the beautiful setting with bright sun, gorgeous sunsets, a full moon, bird watching, fires in the fireplace, good food, and fun games. It was very relaxing. The house is very well set up for a gathering of family with three bedrooms and three separate baths. The kitchen is well equipped for lots of cooking and the dining room is such a pleasant spot to eat and play games at the table overlooking the water. We used bottled water which was provided for drinking due to the taste of sulfur in the tap water, but this was not a big issue. The property manager was very responsive to any questions I had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a picturesque get-away to relax with family. We would definitely like to come back!
Hi Mary Jane,
I am glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Cliff Point.
We would love to have you back at the property when the warmer weather allows you to enjoy the outside amenities! I am also happy to report that the reverse osmosis water system has been repaired which will provide plenty of drinking water for your next visit!
So close....yet so far
We had a fabulous time at the Water Front Retreat. We only had to drive a little over 90 minutes and we were surrounded by water, solitude and beautiful waterfowl. This hideaway is so close to DC yet feels so far away from the hustle and bustle. The house is perfect (has everything you need and more) and the surroundings are so very serene - you really do see a sunrise and sunset each day. It was the best place for a quiet family getaway. It was bitterly cold when we were there (over New Years Eve) but we enjoyed a few short outings and just hanging out on the property - cooking, doing puzzles, watching movies and sitting by the fire. We thoroughly enjoyed our selves and we hope to come back!
All the comforts of home and more.
Such a personal and inviting space. All amenities needed were available to us. View transports you. A very special place
This property is perfect for those that love to be on the water and in a quiet space! Just a short drive (20 - 30 minutes) to wonderful activities in Chestertown or Rock Hall, MD. and approximately 1 hour longer to St Michaels, Easton, Cambridge and Annapolis.
