Bethesda Overlook | Lakeview Cabin at Bethesda Lake Resort

Bethesda Overlook is part of Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins, a beautiful mountain destination near Mena, Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains. Overlooking the pristine waters of heavily stocked Bethesda Lake and surrounded by scenic mountain views, this cabin offers a peaceful setting for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities including complimentary kayaks, a private hot tub, video arcade, fire pit, and cornhole, making it easy for everyone to relax and have fun during their stay. Fishing, swimming, hiking, and kayaking are all just steps from the cabin.

For ATV enthusiasts, the property offers abundant trailer parking and convenient ride-in access to the famous Wolf Pen Gap trail system just down the road, with hundreds of miles of riding available throughout the Ouachita Mountains.

Sleeping Arrangements

Bethesda Overlook features 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and comfortably sleeps up to 14 guests, including:

Two king bedrooms

Bunk loft with five full beds

Enjoy the Outdoors

Start your mornings with coffee on the front porch overlooking the lake, spend the day exploring the mountains or riding the trails, and relax in the evening around the fire pit or hot tub under the stars.

Guests are also just 10 minutes from Mena, where you’ll find great restaurants, groceries, and supplies.

We had a great stay! It had everything we needed. Great collection of kitchen appliances and plenty of towels for a large group! Easy check in & check out. Nice updated and clean bathrooms. Very comfy beds! We would definitely visit again.

Overlook weekend

This is a luxury cabin with a cozy feel. There is plenty of space for a family and though it was two of us, it was perfect for our relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and were close to the West trailhead. Our experience was more than expected. Thank you!

Relaxing

We were from seven to seventy three in ages and there was something for all of us to do. The teenagers and young adults loved the kayaking, fishing and swimming while the older ones watched. The cabin was super and met our needs. We enjoyed watching deer passing through. We will return.

About Your Hosts

Bethesda Overlook is part of Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins, a mountain destination created by Michael and Jessica Myers near Mena, Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains.

Bethesda Lake was constructed in 1925 and was originally intended to be the centerpiece of a resort development that included lakeside recreation and plans for a golf course. The Great Depression halted those plans before the resort could be completed.

In the early 1930s, the Watkins family purchased the property and operated what became known as Lake Bethesda Resort, building small cabins and opening the lake for seasonal swimming. The resort remained a local gathering place until closing in the late 1960s.

Over the following decades, the property fell into disrepair. The cabins were removed, maintenance declined, and the lake’s beauty became hidden beneath heavy overgrowth.

In 2019, Michael and Jessica purchased Bethesda Lake and the surrounding land with a vision to restore the property and bring new life to this historic setting. Working with skilled local craftsmen, they began transforming the land and building cabins designed to showcase the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains.

Today, Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins spans more than 300 acres and features a growing collection of cabins, with additional mountaintop cabins planned for the future.

Bethesda Overlook welcomed its first guests in 2022 and was designed to provide a comfortable and memorable stay surrounded by lake and mountain views.

Michael and Jessica invite you to experience the property for yourself—because the peaceful setting and views of Bethesda Lake are something you truly have to see in person.
