ideal to visit the Chateaus and bike on LOIRE circuits

The house is well situated, all Chateaus are close, the farest at one hour drive. We bike along the river, and admire the landscape. A good vacation address.

Thanks to appreciate the situation. Yes, biking, walking, and driving is easy. In the middle of the LOIRE Chateaus, close all the LOIRE Valley vineyards, at 20mn drive from Tours city, Place Plumereau and pedestrian streets.

How great to meet you, and helping you to discover what was intreresting to visit close as VILLANDRY and its FAMOUS GARDEN. To walk along the river close, to play football in the garden behind. To photo the river banks from the ancient boats on the Cher river. To cook with 4 hands, typical french recipes, after shopping at organic local producers, and local supermarket. Still so many thing you had no time to do....Come back soon...

summer quiet escape

Ideal situation to stop and visit Loire Chateaus. In the middle of nature, close a charming village, where café and terraces offers typically french break. A place to rest, as well as a headquarter to dawdle between rivers, vineyards, and royal castles. Warm welcome, good quality of beds. We will come back.

A lovely stay in a beautiful place

My husband and I and his two sisters stayed for a week. Marie, the owner, lives next door and was a great host. Very friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to do, and always responsive when we had a request. The house is quirky and different, nicely renovated and Marie has decorated it with some lovely and unusual pieces. We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend it. We hope to be back one day.

It was also very kind to have you as hosts! The house is made for that. The Chateaus visits are easy from this location, you can visit also the wine makers around. Wonderful accommodations in a quiet setting

We were two senior couples exploring the Loire region in particular its chateaux. Marie was extremely helpful and gave us very useful information about the region and what it had to offer. Her house was very welcoming. We had ample room for the four of us and the kitchen was well-stocked. We would highly recommend Marie’s house for a quiet stay in a convenient location just outside of Tours while exploring the Loire Valley.

Had a lovely time staying with Marie. She was super helpful and welcoming with lots of good advice from places to visit to cooking a meal for us one evening and introducing us to some local wines. Great place to explore the Loire and Touraine region. Car a must but easy access to Ambois, Tours, Chinon etc. superb bakery in Savonniere 5 mins away by car.

A lovely place

We loved our stay! The owner is friendly and gracious, the house and yard were clean, well appointed, and highly functional. The space is somewhat quirky, with sloped ceilings upstairs, but spacious and artful. It is a removed and quiet location, yet with nearby shopping - and a great centralized location for getting to many Château’s (as well as wineries and other activities we didn’t elect to enjoy). I would gladly return for another fabulous stay!

Fabulous!

Marie is the most wonderful hostess. She has thought of everything her guests could want. She has a wealth of knowledge to share about the local area to make sure you don't miss anything. The house is amazing, the beds are very comfortable. Being able to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a meal is a real bonus. This was my second stay with Marie and I know I'll be back.

A group of ladies happy to be together. To visit the Chateaus. Interested by architecture, wines tasting, discover the Loire river and the wildlife around. They have also liked to be at 20mn drive of the old city of TOURS, and to have girly moments on terrasses, in shops and old stones little streets. A pleasure! They left the house in order. Fabulous host and plenty room

Lovely 300 year old house. The house is definitely quirky with wood beams and angles to work around upstairs. We stayed over New Years and had a great time. Marie is very interesting and communicative and suggested the Tours Opera for New Year’s Eve which was fun! She is very helpful and gave us suggestions for where to shop, visit etc. Winter in France was a very different experience for us. The Chateaux were lit up and decorated along with shops and streets. A great time to go!

Lovely pastoral setting!

This is a unique old home, restored with love and flair. Marie has artfully decorated the home and it showcases her talent as an artist and designer. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. The roses are gorgeous! The accommodations are very nice with beautifully made beds and nice towels. We did have a little snafu with our reservation but Marie was able to come up with a good solution to everyone’s satisfaction.

Country idyll

Berthany is an almost island cradled between the Loire and the Cher , and Maries rose covered home is the perfect peaceful country retreat. Judt a short distance from historic Savonniere and Villandry it make an ideal base for exploring the Loire Valley, its chateaux and gardens. The house was comfortable and very well equipped and having a charming hostess like Marie next door made all the difference to our stay. We were briefed with suggestions for places to go, offered delicious fig tarts and quiches, enjoyed lively discussions and sharded an outing to nearby Tours together something we would not have done on our own, One of our favourite stays during five months in Europe.

How fun it was to share the visit of the Contemporary Creation Center OLIVIER DEBRÉ which just opened last spring! To admire his enormous canvas expressing his view of the LOIRE RIVER and sky. Loved to listen to your impression, show you the ancient Place PLUMEREAU in close TOURS. Its historic houses and your interest for architecture, as well modern, or from Renaissance. Come back, to visit the Saint-Gratien cathedral, rue de la Scellerie antiques, bookstores, and Art Galleries. There 's still a lot to discover.

WONDERFUL!

Marie is the perfect host. We arrived late from CDG with half our luggage; thus.... no toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Marie greeted us at 11:00 PM with wine and cheese and supplied us with the necessities that British Airways was holding hostage at LHR. The cottage is beautiful and reflects Marie’s talent as an artist. We truly enjoyed her companionship and look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven.

Charming and comfortable

My husband and I spent four nights here in June. The house has a very large dining and living room on the first floor along with a compact but well-equipped kitchen (and wc). The three bedrooms and two baths are upstairs. We were charmed with the decor, and very pleased with the comfort of the bed! The host, Marie, who lives in the attached other part of the house, is the one of the most welcoming and friendly people we have met on any continent. She was very happy to supply us with all information needed to explore the area. The location is perfect for visiting chateaux and biking, and the surrounding small towns are simply charming! Finally, the horses, chickens, rooster, as well as pheasants and a hedgehog that we saw made this a favorite vacation rental. Oh, one more thing: Marie recommended a nearby restaurant called L'Etape Gourmand, and that was a highlight of our dining in the area.

We loved this place!

My multi-generational family loved Marie's wonderful farmhouse! It is located in a very rural area, very close driving distance to the small villages of Savonierres and Villandry, where there is a gorgeous chateau. The house itself is a remodeled centuries-old farmhouse with a large living/dining room, modernized kitchen, and clean, charmingly decorated bedrooms upstairs. There is a lot of light, a great mix of antiques and modern pieces, and Marie's delightful paintings. We spent time in the garden having coffee and fruit thoughtfully picked for us by Marie from the cherry trees around the property. There are lovely country walks around it - the Loire river is walking distance, a medieval barn is just down the lane, horses and chickens are in an adjacent field. It's a great place to be based in the Loire Valley - an easy drive to several chateaux, to the city of Tours, and to one charming village after another. Marie is a great hostess. We would definitely recommend this beautiful place!

Wonderful break

Firstly, we received a very warm welcome from Marie. She is full of energy and helpful suggestions. Very much the artist, her works decorate the living room walls. The house is very well appointed, the bedrooms very comfortable and bathrooms equipped with modern conveniences. The property abuts open fields and the garden provides a view of the Loire embankment just 200 yards away. Two friendly horses will probably approach you looking for a hand-out of stale bread. Exceedingly quiet, absolutely no traffic, the only noises being bird song and the occasional honking pheasant. We walked to the river Cher, about 3 km from where one can glimpse the chateau Villandry on the opposite bank. If one wants to escape, and find the 'real' France one can do a lot worse than rent this property from Marie.

Lovely Stay in the Loire Valley

Our group of 5 adults stayed 3 nights at Une Maison Un Jardin. Marie, from the moment we made the reservation, was always helpful with any information we asked for regarding what to see and where to go. The house is located in the beautiful country side but the town is only about 5-10min away in car. The house is conviently located near the Chataeu Villandry, which is beautiful and worth the visit. The area has a beautiful river and lots of bike trails. The house is quiet spacious, with a living area, dining area, kitchen downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs. But I think our favorite spot was the outside garden area where we would relax, drink some wine with cheese, hams and bread. And on a clear night you can do some great star gazing. Marie was a wonderful hostess, always ready to help with any suggestions and help set you up with some lovely wine tastings. We really enjoyed our stay here and only wish that we could have stayed longer! This house is perfect for families, group gathering, and even romantic enough for a couple. We hope to return. Thank you Marie!

Hi, dear you, as the organiser of this friend's trip, you was so good. Thanks to have choosed this house for your friends. It was so good to hear you laugh and have good moments in the garden. You were full of life, and delicious hosts interested by so many things. The days were too short to do all you had envy to do. The best way should be to reserve an other trip and stay one week which is the minimum to have time to visit chateaus and vineyards, and rest in the garden, or walk along the river. Come back soon! Best vacation rental experience we've ever had

Marie greeted us with a welcome drink in the beautiful garden and even offered to let our three young sons borrow her grandchildren's bikes to explore. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and can be described as a curated collection of a creative soul with an appreciation for things of beauty-everywhere you turn are little touches that give it so much personality. It has been recently renovated and everything was perfect. The kitchen is very well appointed for cooking, the beds very comfortable, nice linens provided and good hot water/water pressure throughout the home. The garden was just beginning to bloom, I can only imagine how gorgeous it must be a little later in the year-we actually decided to forego many of our planned excursions in the area to simply stay at the cottage and enjoy the peace of the area. As amazing as the cottage itself is our hostess Marie truly made this trip for us-she was so welcoming and hospitable, she truly wanted us to have an amazing trip. We enjoyed her company immensely and even purchased one of her beautiful paintings. We left feeling like we made a life-long friend and hope to return to Une Maison, Un Jardin again in the future.

Melissa and her family is a simply perfect guest to receive. It has been only happiness to have her and the whole family playing, relaxing in the garden and around. She was interested by a lot of things. The children are full of life and very polite. They draw well! They left the house in good order. The bikes were back at the right place every evening. Come back, dear friends, in summer, or fall. Anytime, you will be welcome! Watercolour and papers are waiting for your talent! The garden, the house, and I wait for your next visit.

Wonderful House, Amazing Service

We saw the photos online and decided the house was perfect for three friends touring the Loire Valley. When we started communicating with Marie about the house and the area we were amazed by how responsive she was, always a reply within hours. Marie shared so much information what to see and do that there was no way to do it all. When we arrived at the house we were late due to traffic, road construction and rain. Marie was so gracious when we called to let her know we were delayed. When we finally got there she welcomed us so warmly, showing us all of the features of the house and really made us feel at home. While we were there Marie catered a meal for us, even taking into account three very different diets and did an amazing job. She prepared a meal of local specialties that was delicious. The location was perfect, a little out in the country but close to plenty of shops and restaurants. We liked that we didn't have to deal with city traffic every day. Ultimately, we were very sorry to leave. The warmth and hospitality of Marie made the week so much nicer than we could have imagined. I'm kind of glad we didn't see everything on our list, that's an excellent excuse to go back to visit Marie!

Una opción ideal para visitar la Touraine

La casa de Marie es preciosa, decorada con gusto, amplia, cómoda y limpia, tiene, tal y como se aprecia en las fotos, un bonito jardín con rosales y plantas aromáticas. Es, sin duda, una opción perfecta para visitar la región: está a unos 25 minutos de la cuidad de Tours, a unos 15 del castillo de Villandry y a menos de 90 minutos de la mayoría de castillos del Loira (Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Ussés,...). El pueblo más cercano, Savonnières, tiene un par de buenas panaderías, supermercado, varios restaurantes, una playa en el río y un bar al aire libre junto al río con parque y actividades diversas para las tardes y noches de verano. La casa es parte de una granja rehabilitada, está pegada a la vivienda de Marie, su propietaria, pero su discreción y amabilidad es tal que no es ninguna molestia, mas bien al contrario. La propiedad consta de 2 pisos, en la planta baja hay un enorme salón comedor con un par de sofás -uno de ellos, el más grande, es comodísimo- , también hay una cocina (moderna, luminosa y totalmente equipada) y un pequeño aseo. En el piso superior hay un gran distribuidor con sofás y una decoración muy curiosa que incluye varios vestidos preciosos. Hay tres habitaciones, cada una con su baño y su ducha, dos de ellas tienen cama de matrimonio y la tercera tiene dos pequeñas camas. Las camas son muy cómodas y las lencería de cama y las toallas son de excelente calidad. La casa es ideal para una familia numerosa o dos familias. Sólo un "pero" al llegar tuvimos que comprar cosas básicas como papel higiénico, bolsas de basura, papel de cocina, estropajo o fregaplatos, entiendo que se trata de un despiste, así que esto no cambia ni un ápice nuestra excelente valoración de la casa de Marie (que, por otro lado, tenía un montón de juegos, discos, DVD con películas clásicas y hasta disfraces que hicieron nuestras delicias y las de nuestro hijo).

siempre es un placer recibir a parejas jóvenes con niños pequeños. La casa es cómoda para ello, espaciosa, y el jardín abre su espacio de juegos para pequeños y grandes. Libros infantiles, DVD para niños. La proximidad de cuatro de los principales castillos: VILLANDRY, AZAY-LE-RIDEAU, LANGEAIS, RIGNY-USSÉ. ¡Es conveniente! ¡El aniversario de los 500 años del nacimiento de ÉONARD DE VINCI, un acontecimiento, con exposiciones excepcionales! ¡Es hora de que lo disfrutes! ¡En AMBOISE, este tapiz de hilados de oro y plata, por ver. Vuelve pronto, te recibiremos con el mismo placer!

Kind Belgium family came for Chateaus, Loire valley, interested by History and Culture. They liked The scenography: Le Mystère de Falun at Doué-la-Fontaine, l'abbaye de Fontevraud, The Bagneux dolmen, also called La Grande Pierre Couverte or La Roche-aux-Fées or Le Grand Dolman, megalithic monument in Bagneux close Saumur, in Maine-et-Loire. Uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor de Loire

Prachtig verblijf in ruime, authentieke boerderij met veel ruimte buiten. De boerderij is van alle gemakken voorzien en staat in het teken van kunst en bloemen. Ruime slaapkamers met eigen badkamer, wat erg handig was met pubers. Heel rustig gelegen op 15 minuten met de auto van het centrum van Tours. Volledige rust, maar toch overal dichtbij. We zijn heel vriendelijk ontvangen door eigenaresse die goed Engels spreekt. De eigenaresse woont in het aansluitende huis, maar dat is afgescheiden. Ze geeft op verzoek met alle plezier tips over wat te doen in de Loire steek.

Een zeer vriendelijke familie met twee jonge meisjes, geïnteresseerd in kunst. Kom naar de LOIRE, de kastelen, de opmerkelijke sites, proeven van de goede producten, ze waren charmante gastheren gepassioneerd over de geschiedenis. Kom snel terug.

C'était agréable d'avoir cette jeunesse venue fêter la nouvelle année. La maison a été quittée après un ménage. Revenez fêter d'autres moments, vous serez bienvenus.
