Convenientemente ubicado en el medio de la nada, Teakettel Mountain Ranch tiene 40 acres perfectos para 'escaparse'. Esta casa fuera de la red es su verdadera escapada de la vida de la gran ciudad. Ty was easy to work with... great communication and got right back to us when we contacted him. Place is beautiful and well equipped. I don't normally like basement bedrooms, but this one was great. Lots of windows. We were there 5 minutes and two deer were right outside the window. Highly recommend this home!!

Both bedrooms are in the basement with a spiral staircase. No fans available. Cannot open the windows. The smell was terrible with overpowering freshners. Junk around outside and patio door wouldnt really close. The fee amenities offered, not in good shape. The pictures are not updated. The list could go on... but the view is beautiful.

Just wanted to say thanks for your review. You must have stayed in a different house than all my other guests because almost every guest that's stayed has had nothing but amazing things to say about my home. It is 40 acres completely off the grid and extremely private. Here are your first words via text message when you arrived."Wow! This place is beyond beautiful. Thank you, off the grid is the best." Yes, both bedrooms are downstairs. If you're outdoors people and here to hike Glacier Park you should have no problem going down stairs to the bedrooms. Yes I do have Air wick plug-in air fresheners. One in the entryway and one downstairs. Sorry you didn't like the smell. There is also a portable fan downstairs in the closet that most people have no problem finding. Most all windows in the house open up except for the 6x8 large windows that overlook the amazing view and the stars at night. The junk outside you must be referring to my plow truck that I've been using to move gravel. Pictures not updated? Not really sure what you mean. Fee amenities offered? Don't know what you mean? And your last quote "But the view is beautiful." With a little communication I could have easily remedied any of your concerns.

It is a very rustic cabin that is 30 minutes drive to Glacier National Park. The cabin has settled over time and the sliding glass door to the deck does not fully close now. The 2 bedrooms are in the basement and the bathroom is upstairs. There is not a hand rail on the spiral stairs. There is no hairdryer, dishwasher or coffee maker. There is a percolator, but the filters don’t fit it and the coffee grinds spill into the coffee. There was an awful chemical smell in the basement which made it hard to sleep the first night. I opened the window in the morning to get rid of the chemical smell.

Wonderful Place!

We had a great time staying at this off-grid house. We loved the location and had no problems with being off-grid. The house was excellent, location perfect, and hosts were good. Just what we were looking for, for a small family reunion.

Perfect Mountain Getaway for Families

We had a fantastic stay at this cabin! It was the perfect size for our family of six—comfortable, cozy, and well-equipped. The outdoor patio was a highlight, offering stunning views of the mountains. We even spotted some moose nearby and enjoyed watching hummingbirds visit throughout the day. The peaceful setting made it easy to relax and reconnect. Great location

Love the location! Close to Glacier and Columbia Falls, yet deep in the woods. The silence was golden. We didn't see any wildlife, i.e. bears or moose, but the hummingbirds at the feeder on the back deck were delightful.

Our time in the woods

The Cabin is nestled quietly in the woods and the views from the deck are spectacular!! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and the evening sunsets were a site to behold. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Glacier park is very close and was Amazing to see.

Who needs internet?

Ty is wonderfully specific about what to expect from his property. It was a spectacular place to rest (and ice) up between hikes. It was so peaceful for being so conveniently located to the Park and to Whitefish. We really enjoyed ourselves there.

Great Location for visiting Glacier National Park

We enjoyed our stay at Teakettle Ranch. The view from the deck was outstanding. Having the propane fire pit on the deck was nice, as under the dry conditions we wanted to stay away for making a fire in the fire pit in the back yard, The cabin is comfortable, well maintained, and well furnished. A short easy drive from the cabin to the West Glacier entrance was nice convience. Ty was was very flexible and accommodating when it was decided to extend our stay by a day.

Unique Experience

We really enjoyed our “off the grid” experience at Ty’s cabin. Lots of hiking trails on his 40 acres of woodland. Our 15 yo grandson brought his trail cams and caught lots of deer and a black bear. Scenery is amazing and very quiet. We were surprised to have 5g on our cell phones. Truly a great experience.

Great place

This is definitely a property we would rent again if we ever make it back. It is very quiet and out of town (about 10”-15”). Quick drive to Glacier National Park . The view in the morning on the deck is spectacular. It is off the grid, but not lacking anything we needed. No internet, but we had reception with our cell phones. I wish we could have spent more time there.

Unforgettable off the grid stay

This listing was just as described. I felt very comfortable here and didn’t even feel like we were off the grid with the commodities offered. Ty was a great host, down to earth, very personable and described everything thoroughly. The bedrooms were cool at night and we took all advantages of the deck to watch the sunrise, set and even a double rainbow after an evening shower. This listing is close to Columbia falls, 22 minutes from GNP west entrance. I recommend Mudman burger for a unique local experience. Thank you Ty for a great stay.

Quiet and tranquil cabin!

Had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was extremely quiet with just the rustling of the trees and the occasional bird and hummingbird sounds while we hung out on the deck. Grilled out all 3 nights and tried to soak up as much outdoor time as possible, especially since we had such an incredible view at the property. It was an easy 20-25 min drive to West Glacier entrance, and also enjoyed HH reservoir/ park as well. We went to Glacier in the middle of a heat wave - low/mid 90s but the downstairs bedroom was nice and cool. Thank you Ty, appreciate your wonderful communication and suggestions.

Mountain retreat

If you are looking for peace and quiet and beautiful views this would be the home/cabin for you. It is remote and peaceful but yet 20 minutes to west glacier. Ty was helpful and the place was clean and we had what we needed. We cooked on the grill and gas stove and used the oven for meals. He had plenty of fresh drinking water and nice warm showers We did not have laundry but we just packed accordingly. It is a couple miles up into the hills on a gravel road but definitely manageable. We had a car but I would recommend an SUV. If you love the view of the mountains like we did you will love this place. Thanks TY!

Rustic

The home was unique. It was on self sustaining power (solar and a generator for back up.) The lighting was fairly dim. The water for the sinks and shower is pumped in from the creek. A large water cooler with jugs of clean water was provided for drinking. There is no microwave or dishwasher. While we missed some conveniences, there is one undeniable fact. When we arrived, a black bear was in the cherry tree not 15 feet from the kitchen windows. That was awesome!

Off the grid Glacier/ Nature retreat

We enjoyed this wonderful hunting themed cabin for our family of 4 (2 adults,2 teens) vacation to GNP. The location is convenient to the West Glacier entrance once you figure out the back roads over the Flathead River bridge. Ty provided great tips about the area and was very accommodating. We loved that it was off the grid so we had fun playing games instead of being on technology devices. We had super high temps (high 90s and even broke 100) for the area while we were there so it did get hot in the main level of the home, but since we spent every day in the park exploring it didn’t matter to us because it was nice and cool in the basement and the temps dropped to the 50s in the evenings. We did have fans that we brought from home that were helpful for air circulation. Overall an awesome experience and a place we would gladly return to on our next visit to Glacier. Thank you, Ty!

Beautiful cabin and location!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Ty's off-grid cabin. The property was beautiful and very secluded. It takes about 15 minutes of driving on back, gravel roads to get up to the cabin. We absolutely LOVED the back porch with the rocking chairs. We spent every single evening out there decompressing and enjoying the views with a glass of wine. We hiked inside the park almost every single morning. Being on the west side of the park, it is quite a long drive to the east side. We did one hike in Many Glaciers and left the cabin at 3:00 AM to get to the trailhead around 7:00 AM to secure parking (worth it!) Ty provided us a lot of clean drinking water which was very much appreciated as we went through a lot of it with the hot days. The cabin did get quite hot in the afternoons but the basement where the bedrooms are stayed nice and cool which was great for sleeping. There is a train that runs nearby, not close enough where it was disruptive. Kitchen was fully stocked and easy to cook in. We loved the binoculars and books around the house. Highly recommend staying here if you want a no frills, private cabin with an incredible view. Be sure to check out the stars at night!

Beautiful Mountain View cabin

The cabin is so cool, right in the middle of the woods over looking the mountains. The cabin has a great outdoor feel with all the various hunting antlers all around. I loved the bedroom in the basement with all the windows around and you felt like you were sleeping in the woods. We loved sitting on the deck with our coffee in the morning and wine at night gazing at the stars. We were disappointed that the fire pit on the deck was not hooked up. We were 15-20 min from the west side entrance to Glacier National Park. We spent most of the time hiking in the park. We also went white waters rafting with the Glacier Guide Rafting Company. We were disappointed and quite anxious when Ty didn’t respond to my messages through VRBO or gmail but instead tried to communicate with me by texting me on my phone. We were staying inside the park for 4 days before the VRBO and I didn’t have any cell phone service inside the park at all. We finally got ahold of Ty after we left the park just hours before check in. We absolutely loved the cabin, we just wished we had better communication.

Thanks for staying at Teakettle Mountain Ranch. It sounds like you had an amazing relaxing time in the mountains and my home. Do to my home being a completely off the grib home I will always call not text a few days before your stay to go over everything you need to know regarding my home. This includes a map on how to find my property, gate instructions, how to get in etc. I do not email this information because I like to personally talk to my guests so they understand everything they need to know about my fully off the grid home. This property was exactly as advertised. The remote location was just what we wanted. Living off the grid for two weeks and enjoying the beauty and activities of Glacier is the way to do it. We got to avoid the crowds in the evenings by just relaxing at this gorgeous remote cabin that also has great views. Ty, the owner and host, is the best host we’ve had! He responded immediately when we had questions, was wonderful to talk to, and made this experience extremely enjoyable!

Perfect Setting

This was such a great place to come back to after hiking in Glacier Park each day. Peaceful, quiet and breath taking sunsets! Shared patio with a coffee bar and small fridge at our disposal was so inviting! A bit of a drive from Many Glacier entrance but so worth it! Owner was very friendly, we enjoyed visiting with her.
