The Wi-Fi enabled Calpine Retreat is a cozy cabin that offers serene mornings, peaceful days, and quiet evenings. BBQ on the deck, walk around town, or hike the local or distant mountains. There is something for everyone in our little corner of the world.

One of the best

This was our 2nd visit to Calpine. It feels like "coming home". Pet friendly .. everything we need in kitchen ..quiet and peaceful. Hope all goes well so we can return a 3rd time. Thank you

Quiet amd comfortable

My partner and I were traveling with her older parents and the location was great, quiet and shady which was nice during the warm days. The beds were comfortable qnd the kitchen was well equipped. Communication with owner was superb and never had an issue we needed further attention. Easy, scenic drives to Truckee and Lake Tahoe. It was the perfect place for us to stay and would stay again.

Wonderful retreat

So happy to reach this peaceful place in Sierras. Lots of space, all one needed to "move in" with a few groceries and get settled! Grocery store in Loyalton abpouut 20 minutes away had

wished we had more time.

unfortunately we were in the area for my brother's memorial. However, staying in a house gave time for us as a family to be together. My nephew was the youngest at 59 and he helped his mom so she could be in attendance the rest of us ranged from 65-90 and we were comfortable in the home and only wished we could have stayed an extra day.

Getaway

Nice cabin, in a neighborhood. The host was great. She was informative, accommodating, responsive to questions, and not intrusive. (Responsive by phone). We enjoyed great fishing 40 minutes away, and great breweries in a mountain atmosphere. Thanks for the hospitality!

Calpine Review

Access to the cabin was good. Temperatures were unusually warm (90's) and the cabin had just one window AC unit in one bedroom. There weren't any instructions on how to use the TV, washer and dryer, coffee pot or dishwasher. In other VRBO properties we've stayed, there are specific instructions. The washing machine did not have a spin cycle and the dryer did not dry our hand wrung clothes. The setting of the cabin was beautiful and early morning walks in cooler air was fine. Nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away.

Peaceful getaway

We had a lovely stay for a long three day weekend. 3 adults total and were comfortable and had enough space thanks to 2 bathrooms. The host was very friendly, turning on the heater so the house was warm before we got it! She was also available for any questions over our stay. Extra points for the mini shampoo/lotions in the bathroom, nice little touch. The area is quiet, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Enjoyed seeing some of the neighborhood dogs and cats. Coming from a urban environment, hearing only the wind and no highway or traffic noise was lovely.

Wonderful little cabin in the woods!

We loved our stay over Thanksgiving. Everything, including the kitchen, was very clean and well taken care of. We did have a bit of a problem with the thermostat, and we had one very cold night, but Anna was very helpful and was able to adjust it through an internet connection. Would highly recommend it as a mountain retreat.
