Amazing apartment in Malchow with WiFi
Your newly built apartment is located in a new development of three buildings, which tastefully blends into the quiet old town of Malchow. Enjoy your relaxing vacation here as a couple or with a child.
The apartment is modern and tastefully furnished. In the living area with fully equipped kitchenette is on the sofa also the sleeping place for a child. Separated from the living room by a wardrobe as a room divider there are two more high-quality sleeping places. From the living room you step onto a sunny terrace, which is embedded in the green area between the two buildings. You have direct access from your property to the jetty on the waterfront and in 5 minutes walk you are in the old town center with pubs on the lake.
Surrounded by water, Malchow is located between Lake Plauer See to the west and Lake Fleesensee to the east in the Mecklenburg Lake District. The town was founded in the 10th century on an island in Lake Malchow. The swing bridge is located directly at the town harbor in the old town and is opened every hour on the hour to allow ships on the Müritz-Elde waterway to pass into Lake Malchow. What is a nice spectacle for vacationers is often a test of patience for motorists.
Worth seeing, besides the old town, is the monastery complex. The Cistercian nunnery was founded in 1298 and converted into a ladies' convent after the Reformation in 1572. The neo-Gothic convent church towers over the town. The Mecklenburg Organ Museum is located in the church, which has excellent acoustics, and in the former rectory. Several historic organs can be heard there and are presented during guided tours or concerts. The monastery grounds also include a park-like garden with old trees, which was laid out in the mid-19th century and invites visitors to stroll and linger.
Just a few steps away from the monastery is a special museum where there is a lot to discover: the "Kiek in un wunner di" - "Look in and wonder". Also interesting is the GDR Museum. The exhibition in a former cinema shows objects from 40 years of everyday life in the GDR - from washing powder packets to complete living rooms.
A few minutes from Malchow's old town, vacationers become bobsledders. From April to October, the summer toboggan run goes steeply uphill and rapidly downhill. The track has a total length of 800 meters, seven steep curves and six chicanes. The difference in altitude is 30 meters. No one has to climb, because tobogganists are pulled up with a drag lift. You can slow down the speed with a brake lever.
