About this property
Discover Up North & Torch Lake @ the Cabin on Clam
Come relax and enjoy the lake front views of Clam Lake; you can see the sunset each night from anywhere on the property! Enjoy the panoramic views from the grassy yard or while sitting around the fire pit with family.
A rustic 1950s log cabin that has been tastefully updated with today’s modern finishes and amenities. Water is the backdrop of life in Bellaire. Swimming, boating, fishing and beach-combing are summer activities that give way in the fall to driving tours along some of Michigan’s most scenic back roads. Centrally located allowing access to activities all year long.
Check-in time: 4 pm Check-out time: 11 am
The space: This is an original log cabin that uses a well for water and has a septic system. We ask that you please be mindful of what goes down the drain. Most of the cabin was recently refurbished; however, it still maintains its original charm and some of the original fixtures. It is well kept and clean but it is on the lake so please do not be surprised to see an occasional bug inside.
There are two 30-foot docks that are available during the stay for personal or rental boats. Kayaks are also available for use with lifejackets provided.
This is a dog friendly cabin and even though we do a thorough job cleaning, if you are allergic to dogs this may not be the best option for you.
The cabin sits on a double lot, so there is room for parking both vehicles and trailers in the yard next to the cabin. The cabin is located about a mile east of Torch Lake and provides access via water.

We were very pleased with our stay. The location and access to clam lake was excellent. The host gave great communication and the cabin had everything we needed. We had a great time.
Adorable tiny cabin with a great yard and a Beautiful view. There is a fire pit right by the water, a row boat, kayaks and a boat dock. We would rent this cabin again:)
We had a great stay in the Cabin on clam. The location is perfect because you are close to Torch, yet you can also take the channel into Lake Bellaire if the weather is too windy or cool. We love that we can dock our boat on ther water! The cabin has several lovely areas to just relax and watch the boats go by. We booked it again for next year!
Although the cabin is tiny, I have to say it is very well maintained, organized with just enough essentials and clean which I am picky about. The outdoor property is beautiful as well and made our weekend the property is well groomed and again clean and well maintain. We are a family of 4 and my husbands and sons are over 6ft tall cabin was still comfortable. We did spend the majority of our time outdoors and on the boat that we rented at the Marina down the road. Great place for a long weekend.
Property is amazing and the reason we chose this rental. Sandy beach, multi level yard with lots of chairs, tables, benches and hammock. Dock available to use for our boat along with room to store the trailer on the property. Very close to restaurants in Alden and Bellaire including Dockside right up the road. Downsides were the size of the bathroom and lack of air conditioning. We actually left 1 day early, it had been in the 90's all week and even with the available fans we just couldn't cool the place down to sleep comfortably at night. Not even a decent breeze off the water. Overall nice stay during the day when outside on the beach and water.

Thank you for your feedback on the cabin and we are glad that you enjoyed most of your stay. We understand that the weather can affect the temperature in the cabin, but with it being an original build we are limited in some of the amenities we are able to provide. We currently do not list air conditioning as an amenity since there is not a safe way to currently provide that to our guests. We are always researching ways to bring additional amenities & comfort to our guests when they stay. Thank you again for your feedback.
