Fishing/R & R

  • 5 of 5

This is the fifth time my fishing buddy and I have stayed at Crown Point. It just does not get any better. Frank is always the best host and the accommodations are clean ,well kept and always above par. My buddy and I have been fishing together for 40 years and have had all kinds of experiences but Crown Point is never a disappointment All fishing trips are great the catch varies.

2nd year in a row

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd year in a row that I have stayed at Crown Point Resort. This year I brought my wife and 2 children (9 & 11) and we stayed in cabin #4. The cabin is spacious, clean and well appointed. It can sleep a lot more but we enjoyed the separate rooms for the kids to sleep in. The deck with the grill, picnic table and lounge chairs saw a lot action from us as we enjoyed cooking and eating many of our meals outside. It is a quiet and relaxing resort but the lake provided hours of endless fun for the kids and us. It is a huge body of water (3200 acres) and never crowded.

Frank is a kind and gracious host who enjoys seeing his guests have a great time and will do what he can to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

The proximity to Madison and Stoughton is one of the attractions to our family so we can have breaks from the water activities. If you have children be sure to visit the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison (It's FREE), the kids loved it and Ella's Deli in Madison which has awesome ice cream, sundaes and other treats including an early 1900s working carousel that only cost a $1 to ride.

Great getaway in any season

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here in warm and cold weather. I come to relax and get some writing done, and it's great for those purposes, but I think families or people looking for an active vacation would also have a good time. In the summer, the lake is nearly irresistible. Frank is a great host who clearly loves this place and puts a lot of care into it. Above all else, the view over the lake is worth every penny.

Great cabin, great location!

  • 5 of 5

We came to do some rock climbing at Devils Lake (super fun, and only an hour from the cabin) and to check out Madison. We ended up enjoying the cozy cabin so much that we spent much more time there than we expected. Its deck, with picnic table and lounge chairs, was great for enjoying the beautiful view and relaxing with a good book. The location is perfect--just a few minutes from Madison, but in a quiet, lake setting.

We liked it so much that we have already booked our next stay!

A Little R & R

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a little R&R, good fishing and quiet time. We were not disappointed! The property was clean, organized and well maintained. The owner was extremely helpful and gracious. Beautiful views and sunrises from the deck. We did not catch any panfish but caught some nice Bass and a 38"

Northern Pike! Everything was as described and would definitely recommend to others.
