Overview

About the property

Sekiu Beach House, Chalet, Sleeping Loft, Sleeps 6, 2 Baths, Quiet & Peaceful

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place to get away from it all, look no further than this secluded waterfront vacation home on the Strait of Juan de Fuca near Sekiu, Washington.

This rugged and beautiful part of the Northwest Coast is located just 35 miles from Forks, Washington, and about 20 miles from the trailhead of Shi Shi Beach, considered one of the best wilderness beaches in the world. We are also close to Cape Flattery, the most northwestern point in the continental US, (the beginning of the world). Our little piece of paradise is a great jumping off spot for visiting all points of the Olympic National Park, whether you want to soak your cares away at Sol Duc Hot Springs, visit the giant and ancient moss covered trees of the Hoh Rainforest, or hike one of the many beach or mountain trails. We're close to the Sol Duc River, famous not only for steelhead and salmon, but now as the home of the Cullen family.

Just want to relax? Sit on the deck of this well appointed home and watch the ships go by, eagles soar overhead and whales cruise the coastline. Beach comb for driftwood, rocks and shells, and explore the many tide pools right in front of the house. On a clear and moonless night, be amazed by the brilliant stars and the Milky Way. And nothing is as wonderful as the cool, fresh air, and the sound of the crashing waves.

For large groups, or if you would like to camp, see VRBO 621863.

Why JoAnn Allen chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

We bought this place as our future retirement home and we enjoy using it now when we can. We fell in love with its incredible peace, stunning views, and natural surroundings.

Walk the beach and enjoy the peace and solitude, sounds of the surf and incredible views.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a lovely stay and we got very lucky with the weather! Our 5 and 7 year old daughters enjoyed our hike from Lake Ozette to the lookout (approximately 6.5 miles). It was warm with no wind...we even got a sunburn! We enjoyed the beach here, the stove, playing Sequence (a VERY heated tourney!), working with clay and playing the piano. Thanks.

Lovely beachfront down a small flight of stairs, amd wonderful grassy lawn for pets to play on!

Wonderful experience and we all felt taken care of! The bathrooms had sample shower products and the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. The beds were comfy and sofas plentiful for sociable evenings. Such a gorgeous beach as well for exploring! Thank you!

Great house, not fancy but clean and comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

Nice place to stay. The loft upstairs has a king size and 4 single beds. If sleeping privacy isn't an issue it works great. There are two bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen and a cozy living area. Everything was clean and in working order. The home is in a great spot. We saw whales and seals from the house. The path down to the beach is good although you may get tired on the way back up! I would definitely return!

Beautiful views!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time this weekend at the beach house. Everything was perfect, from views to the house to the backyard. We really enjoyed the wood fireplace, sipping tea and watching the spectacular views. It was great to have private beach for nice morning walks and watching all the birds. It was so hard to leave. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!!!

Thanks a lot to JoAnn and Randy for this beautiful place.

Beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

The location is superb--overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island. The yard is huge, there is great access to the beach(stairs), plenty of eagles flying by. The Strait was very choppy so whale watching wasn't the best. The house itself is open and with high ceilings. There is a large sleeping loft overlooking the living room. Two bathrooms! The kitchen is well equipped and the home was spotless.

Cozy with a great beach

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at this quaint place. The wood burning stove kept us cozy. The beach was amazing and we had it all to ourselves (except for the sea lions, bald eagles, and other birds). It was very clean, had great games, a decently stocked kitchen, and comfy beds. It's nice that it had two bathrooms, despite not having any bedrooms. The sleeping loft easily held our family of four. Due to the layout we had very quiet evenings after putting the kids to bed (there is no way to shield the sleeping loft from light or sound). We loved the water view and the easy access to the beach. What a great place to explore this stretch of wild coastline.
