Gorgeous views of Lake Sarnen

We spent 3 lovely days at Lake Sarnen enjoying the breathtaking views. We went to Mt. Pilatus for a day and spent a day wandering around Lucerne. Roland was a most gracious host and offered many good ideas regarding things to do and good places to eat. Thank you so very much Roland and Claudia for a wonderful visit to your lovely, lovely corner of the world!

Perfection!

The property is incredible. Furnishings are spotless, views are to die for and the hosts are wonderful. The chill out room is the most uniquely beautiful space I've ever had the chance to stay in. The only downside is that it is so comfortable that you won't want to leave to see all the other amazing sights this part of Switzerland has to offer.

Stay in Sarnen

The property was awesome and was as advertised with sufficient space for our family of five. The views were spectacular and the house was well kept, clean and amenities were awesome including the internet and the technology set up for our boys. Roland was great and communication was not an issue. The house is a shared living situation which was not initially advertised as such and there are challenges with the kitchen sharing however there appears to be plans to address this issue. All-in-all a great stay for us and Roland was super helpful for someone traveling through the area.

I regret that you misinterpreted our house description. Yes, and I agree - from July 2019 guests will have their own kitchen - just if there are 3-5 guests one bedroom and bathroom are located on the second floor where our bedrooms are located a bit aside. Looking forward to show you the "kitchen with a view" soon!

Switzerland Gem

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. We are a family of four, and this was our first trip to Switzerland. We began our trip at this house, and it was the ideal place to start. Roland and Claudia are fantastic hosts. They were informative, welcoming, and always helpful. Even before we arrived, Roland was very responsive to emails and always willing to answer questions. This was one of the reasons we chose this home. The house is even more beautiful than the photos depict. The house is modern, comfortable and well decorated. It is located in a gorgeous setting on a lake. We enjoyed swimming in the lake. We ate meals outside on the patio and just relaxed and took in the view. We were only here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We took the Silver trip to Mt. Pilatus and truly enjoyed that. We spent an evening in Lucerne. The Lion monument is so moving and is a must see. Roland had numerous suggestions for things to do in the area, we only wish we had enough time to do them all. We hope to be fortunate enough to return to Switzerland someday, and we would love to return to this idyllic home. Thank you Roland and Claudia!

Most wonderful place on Lake Sarnersee

We can’t say enough good things about the fabulous accommodations and our amazing host. After a long day of travel it was to just chill the next day with a hike along the lake and a sunbath on our awesome deck. Soooo relaxing. Our hosts recommendation for dinner out was wonderful.

Lovely home, beautiful views of Lake Saren

Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Their home is modern and comfortable. This is a great place to explore the area as far as Lucerne and the Aareschlucht gorge. The home had everything we needed, good restaurants close by and a local grocery and bakery near the home. It was the perfect spot for two couples traveling together. We wish we would have had more time to spend in this lovely home and area!

Fantastic views and a great host

We travelled across Switzerland, Austria and France and thought this was by far the most beautiful of all the places we stayed. Very good for both walking and relaxing and the air is so clear. If you stay in Sarnen we strongly recommend going up mount Pilatus via the cog railway, down by cable car and gondola then back across the lake by ferry.

Exceptional

We travel quite a bit and occasionally use rentals. Villa Wilen was an unexpected and exceptional discovery. The house is an architectural masterpiece located on Lake Sarnen with dramatic views of the water and surrounding snowcapped mountains. The setting was tranquil yet inspiring. The property was clean, well maintained and accurately depicted in the description. Our host, Roland and his family, were gracious and very helpful. The central location allowed us to complete our itinerary in northern and central Switzerland with day trips and return to our deck overlooking the lake to sample the Swiss wines and food we collected during the day. We would highly recommend this property and are likely to return.

definitely the best villa in 4 years at HomeAway

Roland's villa is a perfect combination of style and home-like cosiness. We spent here a beautiful New Year with a nice Christmas-tree (a special thanks to Roland and Claudia's daugter for this!), made friends with a lazy cat named Flo and updated our musical library. The view from the villa is unforgettable. And when the snow melted down we found a perfect little pond full of goldfish. The description of the villa is complete and accurate, the property was very clean and well-maintained, and the cleaner left just before our arrival. I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone and would return here myself. Thanks!

Wonderful Property

This is an exceptional property. The architecture and finishes are truly high-end.....and it was very comfortable. The views across the Lake are unsurpassed. You just have to see it to appreciate it. The owners were welcoming and very easy to deal with. We had a wonderful stay.

The BEST EXPERIENCE ever!

Staying at Roland's house has been one of the best experiences for me. I was there for 2 days with my family and I was increasingly glad all the time that I made the decision of staying in this most extraordinary house. It's fully equipped and extremely comfortable. And, it's way better in reality as compared to the pictures that are on the website. I was really at peace to wake up to the stunning views from our Chillout room, looking at the peaceful lake and the gorgeous mountains behind it. And to top all of this, I could hardly write enough about Roland's unmatched hospitality. He welcomed us warmly into his house and made all efforts to ensure that we were comfortable. He also had many suggestions and ideas for activities around the area, which helped us a lot. I highly recommend staying at his house if you are looking for a memorable time. I had a truly great vacation!

My gateway to Switzerland

Villa Wilen’s assets are obvious: perfect location; wonderful dwelling-place with all the modern comfort one can wish for; extraordinary surroundings etc. In terms of value for money, it is undoubtedly a very good deal…! When I contacted him to book the 2 rooms, Roland was particularly receptive and open. He was flexible and willing to accommodate our needs as a young family with three kids. I already had a very good feeling about our holidays before arriving to Sarnen. Roland and Claudia proved to be worthy of their Superhost status. They know how to make guests feel welcome and helped us in everything we needed during our stay. We were very quickly at our ease in the house and could enjoy our time fully. In retrospect, I feel that our holidays came near to perfect. Villa Wilen was the ideal choice to discover Switzerland in winter time. What will remain above all is the nice memories we built in the company of great and caring people. Thank you Roland, thank you Claudia …

The Perfect Villa

I would say after traveling numerous times and staying at many villas and apartment, Sarnen Villa is the best by so far until now. Purely a magical place located at a premium neighbourhood. The view is a pure magic specially in the early morning hrs. The neighbourhood so quite and your foot steps could disturb the calmness. it's has everything you need in a 7* Holiday home. a private front yard, private balcony, a Terrance, a private access to the lake. you could spend the whole holiday at the place.. The host " Roland" and his lovely family is another story of beauty. A well educated and a business man, very kind and humble indeed, who will make your holiday a life-time trip to remember out of their kindness and help. They go their way but once you need them, they are immediately there. it's been a while since stayed at the villa but i still remember the magic as if it was just yesterday. I have been almost all over Switzerland and this is the only place that i felt in love with. Right in the middle, where there a town and shops nearby " 5 minutes drive", Lugano to north-east is 20 min drive, and to the west is Interlaken about 45 mins drive. I'll be definitely going back again. I would strongly recommend the place and it's perfect for couple preferably without kids since it's a quite neighbourhood and the Villa is a luxurious one and they might be ending breaking things. Ideal for relaxation and chilling-out, pleasure-business trips who need a quite place to work, and for those who love quite neighbourhoods. Thank you very much to you Roland and to your family for the life-time experience.
