Secluded with no other homes within sight. Enjoy the morning view with coffee on the deck and relax in the evening with drinks by the fire or soak in the hot tub under the stars. Walk off the property onto 2800 acres of public hunting, fishing, hiking and wildlife adventure. Just 1 - 1/2 miles from the Mississippi river. Perfect for every season!

Very welcoming hosts with quick responses to all communications. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, and more. King bed was very comfortable. We were looking for a relaxing getaway and that is exactly what we got!

Had a great time in a beautiful cottage in a great location. Only negative was that bedroom was on lower level while only bathroom was on upper level, Put a bathroom in the lower level and have nirvana.

Secluded cabin

Overall it was a fantastic stay. The property was as advertised; it was quiet, well maintained and a great place for a weekend getaway with the wife. I would definitely recommend.

The cabin was awesome and secluded .The owners put a lot of thought in providing everything from indoor games and movies to outdoor things to do. The cabin itself was full of all your essentials and more. It was a peaceful and wonderful place to stay.

Taxidermy Delight

The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the isolation of this cabin was wonderful. I didn't mind all the dead animals on the walls but it did bother my wife. The major complaint that I had was that the beds and bathroom were on different levels. The plumbing exists so I wish they would add at least a half bath in the basement next to the master bedroom. Other than the bathroom issue, the cabin and area are wonderful.

Peaceful

This property is very peaceful. Feels like home, we were able to spend quality time together. The host were great communicators. This would be a great place to stay any season as we look forward to going back again someday.

My wife Laurie and I live in Clear Lake, IA where she runs a photography studio and I work at a natural gas facility. We have two teenage boys and our coonhound Roxy. Of course we love to travel and usually find a log cabin to stay in wherever we go. I play drums in a local rock band and my wife usually spends her free time buying more taxidermy :). So now we finally have a place to display it all haha!

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting this part of the Mississippi every year for nearly 20 years now. Yikes, we're getting old! Day trips turned into week long stays over the years. So when we went looking for a getaway of our own, location was a no brainer. We are so lucky to have found this place. We love it here and we hope you love it as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

The greatest thing about this property is how secluded it is but still very near things to do or places to get what you need. There are no other properties in line of sight and you have the whole property to yourself. In fact this is the first house on the road from the Mississippi. You are also surrounded by 2800 acres of public land that is free to explore.
