"The Wright Way" - 6 Sabal Palm Cottage offers a light, open floor plan, including a new fully stocked kitchen with all you will need for the gourmet cook and family meals, 3 spacious bedrooms. The room with two twins also has a trundle bed that pulls out from under one of the twins. Our home boasts gleaming hardwood floors throughout and beautiful comfortable furniture.. Located in the center of the island, at the end of Sabal Palm Trail, the cottage is perfectly situated within minutes from the beach, as well as the harbor, restaurants, 'Old Baldy', both clubs, the creek access and Maritime market. After a day at the beach, it is a pleasure to return home to the comfort of the live oaks and the peace and serenity of the sabal palm community.

*For an additional charge, our guests may select temporary membership (not included and not guaranteed - dependent upon availability) at either Shoals or Bald Head Island Club.. Shoals club is located at East beach in a superb ocean side setting. It offers both a main pool and smaller child's pool with beautiful ocean views. Informal pool side and restaurant dinning are available as is a small gym. For those wanting to play golf or tennis, Bald Head Island club offers both, as well as a gym and a fantastically updated series of pools for all ages. A brand new ocean view restaurant offers more casual dining, but if it's more formal dining you're looking for, you'll find that within the stylish club house.

The home includes the use of two *NEW BINTELLI* 4 seater golf carts and beach chairs.

If you are not familiar with Bald Head Island, imagine a quiet, relaxing place with beautiful and varied surroundings. Whether you are looking for an active vacation on the water or on land or one spent enjoying the 14 miles of wonderful beaches, there's something for everyone. Fishing, sailing, kayaking, golfing ,biking, beach combing, nature trails, exploring the island after dark or turtle watching with the interns. What ever your chosen past time, our house offers a lovely relaxing atmosphere to return to. Relax on the screened porch with a view of the lagoon and enjoy a drink.

We will be ready to assist you with your pre-visit planning, ferry and tram reservations, and information about the island facilities. We are here to help make you stay a great one.

Please note this home does not have a grill. If you stayed in the Sabal Palm area in past years, the communal grills have since been removed.

*Club memberships are optional and subject to availability. The costs are separate and not included with the rental of the home.

Great cottage on Bald Head

Very comfortable cottage-new golf carts were fantastic as were the beach chairs and towels provided. For our family, who flew to be on Bald Head, it was a perfect spot.

Terrific stay

We had a great week in this house! Super clean, bright and every amenity we could have asked for! Host was very responsive when my husband let him know about problem with golf cart which he dealt with immediately. My only concern would be to keep a watchful eye on small dogs and children as the property abuts a marsh way that we saw a quite large alligator hanging around! Definitely fun to see but please don’t feed!! Also a beautiful neighborhood deck area to watch the birds and wildlife! Highly recommend this house! Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Such a great place to stay on BHI!

We loved staying here! We came for spring break with our kids and had the best time. Lovely view of the lagoon. The property was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We will be back! :)

A wonderful getaway

We spent 3 nights in this great house. The owners were very accommodating from the moment I booked the reservation, and the house was perfect for our family. It is spacious, clean, and well stocked. The golf carts were great for getting around the island. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been coming to the island for summer vacation with our 2 kids for 10 years, sometimes twice in a summer and once for Thanksgiving! We love Bald Head Island, it is our happy place! We've stayed in lots of different houses, some more than once and with a few different rental companies. This was our first time with Homes on BHI - it was a great experience! We loved the house, the communication was great, the house was well stocked and we love the forest area. We would definitely recommend the island, Homes on BHI and this house! If you come, be sure to go to Mike's Bites for Italian ice - it's the best cold treat, the best value and the best place on the island other than the beach!!

Perfect getaway

We highly recommend this home, the owners have taken great care with decorating and outfitting with all conveniences; we have never rented a home that included beach towels! We love the neighborhood, Sabal Palms, and have stayed in this location previously, it is very close to the harbor, lighthouse, and the beach.

Family Vacation

Property was even better in person. We have been vacationing on BHI for over 20 years and have stayed all over the island. 6 Sable Palm was clean, and perfect for our family of 4. Able to access both clubs if you desire (make sure to apply early), two brand new golf carts and all within a the most reasonable price point for the island. Thank you for another relaxing and memorable year!

Great location

We enjoyed our stay . House was perfect size for the 5 of us . Loved having the lagoon . I saw a alligator, ibis, egrets and turtles. Enjoyed having coffee on the porch watching for wildlife! House is in great location , sorta middle! Was very quiet and peaceful in the Sabal Cottages. Would love to come back here !

Better than expected...

The property was very clean and well laid out. We enjoyed sitting on the deck reading when not out on the beach. I loved the remoteness of the island and the fact that is car free. Using the golf carts was fun for the family. Owner was quick to respond to any questions.

Long Weekend- Wedding

Everything was as described. The house was clean, spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. The golf carts were in good working condition, and the beds very comfortable. We would highly recommend Dan and Carrie's home. Carrie was very easy to work with and responded quickly to emails.

Perfect Perfect Perfect and Great Value too.

We are just back from our week at this home and it was an absolute delight. The furnishings are lovely and in great shape with everything you need for a great week.The house was absolutely spotless and the two golf carts gave us a ton of flexibility. It is definitely a special house in a very special place and Carrie made everything EASY- especially considering it was our first visit to the island. You will not be dissapointed.

Very nice!

This is a lovely home and we would stay here again. The most important thing to me is a comfortable bed and they were very nice with soft linens and I slept great. The golf carts are zippy and newer. Kitchen with everything you need and more. The online arrangements were easy and this was our first experience with VRBO. Great weekend and home.

Perfect Home Away From Home!!

Rented this property for our 10th year on the island and it could not have been more perfect for our family! Beautiful home with everything you need. Very clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable! The kitchen Is fully stocked and great for cooking in at night. The location was perfect for getting to the market, golf course and beach. Beautiful week in Bald Head

Our family of 5 (3 teens) stayed at 6 Sabal Palm cottage. We had a great stay with plenty of room to spread out. Beds were comfortable and the house is updated nicely. The house had everything we needed- including beach towels, beach chairs. We enjoyed playing games at night and sitting on the back porch. We saw a few alligators, turtles, and egrets. The property manager was very communicative and went out of his way to help us out with anything we needed. Thanks for. a great stay!

Great vacation

We had a great stay at sabal palm. We loved the location in the shade of the maritime forest. It felt like a retreat as the sun, heat and overall exposure can be intense during NC summers. Having 2 golf carts and bikes was convenient . The owner was very responsive and the house was very clean with a well stocked kitchen. I have 2 young boys and the location on a circle or cul desac was nice for bike riding without the worry of golf cart traffic. As a native North Carolinian, BHI is our favorite beach locale and we would stay at sabal palm again.

Nice and spacious home!

The home is spacious and comfortable. It is at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac and is centrally located between the marina and market and close to the beach, golf course and Bald Head Island Club. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a private screen porch with lots of rocking chairs. Both carts are in great shape and fast. We enjoyed temporary membership to both clubs. Trust that if you have any questions at all Carrie will be very responsive.

Great House in the Maritime Forest

House was great for two families. Spacious and lots of beds. Plenty of seating at dining table was a plus too. Kitchen was easy to work in with all the necessities. Location in the Maritime Forest is great...quiet but close to every part of the island. Community Gazebo overlooking the lagoon was the kids' favorite and they even saw the alligator. Two golf carts are great to have (an ammenity not to overlook!) Three bikes provided too! Carrie was exceedingly easy to work with and very responsive. I would definitely rent the house again.

Peaceful, beautiful vacation

This is our second stay at this house, which works wonderfully for our family that includes two young adults, but there is surely room for more guests. May is a great time on the island; the weather is cooler and there are fewer vacationers so nothing is crowded. The Jose house has everything that you would want. It is immaculately clean, the property is quiet, the carts and bikes get you everywhere, the market is nearby, and the kitchen has all the basics. Staying in the forest is different from being next to the beach. We really love the canopy and bicycling under the trees. The owner is very responsive and maintains a lovely rental property where you will feel at home.
