Needs more cleaning

This property was good for a girls trip with 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. One of the bathrooms was not clean with urine at base of stool & hair on tub surround. Clorox cleaning spray was found under the sink to remedy this. The light switches and nobs could use cleaning. A Magic Eraser would do wonders on the sinks and tubs around the faucets. The beds and other parts of the home were clean. A fire detector was beeping incessantly, so the battery was removed. We had to purchase trash bags and toilet paper which we thought should be supplied. The pool was nice and overall it was a good stay.

Bring an electrician!

For what we paid, I expected everything to be in working order. From lights not working in rooms to having to jiggle wall switches to make things work this house is not worth the money. The furniture is in bad shape and the material peels off on your clothes. We looked like Dalmatians on Christmas morning from all the sofa material peeling off. I moved the nightstand so I could plug in phone chargers and found trash and dead bugs under there. The shower had hairs from previous guests and a hairy bar of soap was left behind. The fan in the bathroom would just hum for the first two days until it finally started working. All of the fans need replacing because either they don’t work or they sound like a child banging two spoons together while you sleep! The icing on the cake was the heating system could not heat up the house until the third day we were there. The communication was horrible, I would message him about an issue and he would suggest the obvious solution. When I told him that didn’t work, I was ignored until the next issue came up. He also schedules people to come over and doesn’t tell you anything until they are at the door. A terrible host for sure.

Easy process, clean home, good communication

Overall, this was a good home and was a comfortable fit for our family of 8 adults. The pool was a little disappointing - was not the cleanest with bugs floating in it. The filter seemed to be running, but maybe it needs to be upgraded. I would suggest that wash rags should be in each bathroom (we found a few in the laundry room but that was after buying a bath sponge).

Could have been better.

Nice house. Could use a little updating. Very nice pool. Could use some new patio furniture. Had a couple small issues but were taken care of immediately. The owner is very nice & easy to deal with.

Gutes Objekt ausserhalb Orlando’s

Insgesamt ein gutes und geräumiges Objekt in einer ruhigen Wohnsiedlung. Nähe zu Versorgungseinrichtungen ideal. Check-in und Kommunikation mit Besitzer verliefen problemlos. Das Objekt war sauber und mit allen notwenigen Gegenständen - wenn auch etwas älter - ausgestattet. Einziger Wermutstropfen: das Internet hat trotz aller Bemühungen nicht funktioniert.

Loved the pool and all the room

Bernie was great to work with! We loved the pool!! Very clean! Patio furniture has seen better days. Big house with plenty of room. 4th bedroom a bit small, but other bedrooms were a great size. Beds and living room furniture need to be replaced. Wished we could have used the garage. Great location. Close to restaurants and amenities. Overall, a great vacation home!! Would love to rent from Bernie and VRBO again!

Bernie was a great host, we called him several times about certain things and he was great at answering our questions, we will stay here again when we come back to Florida. The house is clean and comfortable and the beds are soft and inviting, we would recommend this place to anyone coming to Florida.

House provides the bare minimum of furniture,sheets, towels, and clean floors.

It appeared to us that the owners don’t care about the comfort of their guests. The master, usually the nicest room had no curtains, the hand towels a roll of paper towels, cheap uncomfortable sheets, and no tv. All the floors need deep cleaning, the coffee maker was scary, hand towels scarce and beds hard.

Fit our needs perfectly !!!

Life savior

Burnett and his wife were genuine owners of the property and were very professional and proud of their property. Taking care of every aspect. We had another property reserved and HomeAway was able to find their property a day before leaving for our trip. I will most definitely contact Burnett for future trips and will recommend his properties to others. I really appreciated the kindness of Burnett. The property was exactly what we were looking for and the pool was great.

Great place to stay with family!

Burnett and his wife were wonderful hosts and quick to respond if we had any questions or needed anything. The house is great for a week's stay to visit family, and just down the road from Kelly Park, our favorite place to go in FL. The pool was absolutely perfect with the heat on. The kids swam every day and it was a very pleasant temperature for the adults, too. Being from a northern state, we aren't too accustomed to the cockroaches in Florida, but everyone we know says they are everywhere and just about impossible to avoid, so we just kept food in the fridge or a plastic container and it was not really a big deal. Heck, there were even roaches in our food at a hibachi restaurant (kiku in Mount Dora) which was way grosser than a few in the kitchen at the house. Something to keep in mind if you are traveling with small children, bring something to block the steps at top and bottom. Also, if you don't have unlimited data on your phone, you may need to increase your data allowance temporarily to avoid a big surprise on your next bill, because the internet doesn't work too well. All things considered, we had an excellent vacation and we enjoyed talking with Burnett and his wife. :)

DO NOT RENT, YOU WILL REGRET IT! EXTREMELY MISREPRESENTED HOME.

We were in a bind and rented this house last minute even though I had read prior reviews. Please do not make my mistake. The following are facts, not opinions. Cable TV not working WIFI not working Pool had black mold on bottom Safety locks on sliding glass doors to pool area do not lock!!! Dirty house Roach infested kitchen Substandard and minimal kitchen equipment, rusted flatware Exposed cable TV cord in living area Doors missing on 2 closets Dead batteries in TV remote (different issue from no cable) Broken brick laying loose on fireplace hearth Verticals missing on window coverings providing NO privacy from neighbors Broken Venetian blinds When circuit breaker flipped in Master bedroom we were unable to fix it since there was no circuit box inside home. We assumed the box was in the garage, which was locked! Downstairs bedroom and bathroom do not lock Downstairs tub clogged, standing in ankle deep water while showering Extremely used sofa in the living area. The owner describes this as "A Little Peace of Heaven", I'd say more like the opposite place and, the roaches gave us NO peace.

The neighborhood is nice and quiet,The location was perfect for us to attend a wedding and shopping

There are some issues with the house and with furnishings. There are no pillow cases, only pillow shams. Some of the pillows were flat and worn and no extras. Towels and linens were in very limited supply. Many of the lightbulbs were burned out and no replacements. No garbage bags!!!. Kitchen detergent supply limited. Furnishings in the house sparse. It is spacious and the beds comfortable. No issues with the pool.

A really annoying experience, not a pleasant time.

Nice house but lots of little things that made for a really annoying experience. I would definitely not recommend this place. First of all, the pictures shown were taken a while ago - the house is a lot more run down now - landscaping needs some work, grass isn't very nice, paint is faded, interior of the house has had a lot of use. Secondly, the parking situation was really bad. The driveway only fits one car comfortably without parking on the grass. All the neighbors in the neighborhood seem to run construction companies or something - multiple trailers and large trucks and jeeps blocked the street and cars parked right up to the edge of the driveway, making it almost impossible for us to get into or out of the driveway. The TVs in the house are small and very poor quality/fuzzy (maybe he should consider using HDMI instead of composite inputs!) and the furniture is awkwardly far away so it's hard to see the TV from the couches. The remote controls don't really work well, and there's no DVD/BluRay player anywhere in the house. One of the main attractions of the house was the pool - which is REALLY run down. The back door to get to the pool is difficult to operate. The cement paint/surface/ of the pool is only about half there - the rest has been chipped away and the bottom of the pool looks really dirty all the time. (note the pool looks perfect in the pictures of this house) The pool filter isn't working right - only about half the jets worked and the bottom intake didn't work at all - which meant that the water was cloudy and pretty disgusting. The pool has a heater, which we didn't think we'd need, but a cold snap sent the temperatures into the low 70s. When I asked to have the heater turned on, the owner couldn't be bothered to get anyone out to do so - he was out of town and the electrical box is locked - plus he made it a point to tell me that it would cost an additional $40 a day to run the pool heater. There's also very little shade on the pool deck - so if you're going to be outside while the kids are playing, you're going to be in direct sun next to the house and probably really hot. To top it all off, the pool guys showed up mid-week and shocked the pool, so we couldn't use it for 24 hours - too bad the owner couldn't have had that done either before or after our trip. This house was FAR too expensive for the number of annoyances, and I felt like the description was deceptive.

Very secure and lovely home.

We had the basics, however there were no large spoons to cook for cooking, all there was in the utensil drawer was 1 spatula and 1 ladle, and I thought there would be a toaster in the kitchen there wasn't. But that is not anything to complain about. We still had a wonderful time, we took walks around the neighbor hood and there was a lovely Italian sports bar about 6 blocks away. Food was great, and wine Wednesday was hilarious. Everybody in the addition must have been there. No strangers that night. Again the house was nice clean and it worked well for my Family. But next time I would have the pool heated. Thank you.
