Why The Owner chose Portland Heights

We own two homes in this area, so this is our 'extra house'. This is one of the original upscale neighborhoods in Portland established in the 1870's, always in high demand due its unique character and closeness to downtown.

What makes this house unique

Very close to all the action, music, theaters and restaurants in downtown Portland. Great walk to Council Crest Park with 360 degree view from the hilltop, lots of bike friendly paths. Near a great neighborhood market with Gourmet food, Wine (liquor) and deli.

Wonderful Old Home

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed here before; and I came back. Plenty of space and very nice old home 5 minute drive from downtown. I will be back again.

Spacious House Worked Well for Us

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place for our long weekend family gathering. The kitchen was well-equipped so we could prepare meals. The three bedrooms were quite spacious, and the bathrooms were adequate for the six of us. There was more than enough common space for the six of us and our in-town guests to socialize comfortably. We loved the location, up a hill on the west side of Portand with good views, but only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown. The internet connection worked fine for some of our devices, but a couple of us were unable to make the jump from the local network to the internet. We would definitely stay here again.

Great spot for a family or even 3 couples!

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I stayed here with each of our families of 4, for a total of 4 adults and 4 kids and it was the perfect space for us. Cozy living room and enough space to escape to one of the bedrooms to enjoy some quiet time. It’s a classic Portland craftsman style home, with some quirks that are expected with a home from that era. The House was clean, private and comfortable. Really, no complaints about the space! Only thing that I would suggest to the owners is to improve the traction on the wood deck walking up to the front door. It is old wood and when it is wet, it was VERY slippery. Two of us fell on the first day. After that we only walked on the 12-18 inches of deck closest to the home and we didn’t have any issues. The outside stairs all had gripper tape on them, but the deck could also benefit from it in the rainy season. The only other minor issue was that the dirty laundry from the previous guests was still on the top of the stairs leading to the basement. We didn’t really mind it because it wasn’t in the space we were using, but it might bother some other groups. Overall it was a fantastic stay, great location and easy to get to downtown PDX. We would stay here again on future visits is the home is available.

Charming old home in beautiful Portland Neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place to stay! We had two couples and one single person and the sleeping arrangements were perfect. There was still room to spare. The kitchen was perfect for serving breakfasts and the dining space was roomy enough to seat all of us comfortably. My only complaint was the water pressure in the upstairs bathroom was minimal and the temperature was hard to adjust but nothing that ruined my stay. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend it for anyone who wants to see a charming side of Portland.

Beautiful Craftsman house in a good location.

  • 4 of 5

We (three couples) stayed here for three nights and we never felt crowded. The deck, kitchen, living room, dining room and TV room provided lots of space to spread out and feel at home. Most of the house was tastefully decorated and furnished with Craftsman-era pieces, but the kitchen was well equipped with new appliances and accoutrements. As long as you have a car, this place has easy access to the Pearl District, and downtown Portland. Portland was unusually hot and smoky when we were there, and the AC didn't cool down the entire house, but the raging wildfires in the nearby Columbia Gorge made this an very uncommon event. We would stay here again if we visit Portland in the future.
