Ms. Opal's Cottage - POOL! Pet-Friendly! Ground Level

Ms. Opal's Cottage is an adorable two bedroom, two full bath vintage Tybee bead board cottage. It is located on the south end of the island near the back river and only a couple of blocks walk to the beach, pier, restaurants, and shops. Both bedrooms have a queen bed and each bedroom has a flat screen TV. One bathroom has a clawfoot tub/shower combo; 2nd bathroom has a walk-in shower (no tub). Kitchen has been beautifully updated with stainless steel appliances. The backyard features beautiful landscaping and an 11' X 23' backyard seasonal heated salt water pool, outdoor lounging furniture and pool house; what a treat for Ms. Opal's guests; your very own private pool! Additionally, the pool house is stocked with games, books and puzzles. There is also a private outdoor shower with hot and cold water. The front porch, a classic Tybee screened porch, features Adirondack chairs, rocking chairs and an outdoor dining area. This cottage is perfect for a couples getaway; a girlfriends' beach weekend, a a perfect summer vacation! Miss Opals was cozy! I would only make a suggestion for an air conditioner window unit in the pool house. And possibly cut back soE of the foliage in the back yard. I would highly recommend this place. We had a great time. If you do stay here in fall months ask them to have the heater on before you get there. Seemed like it took two days to get the water warm.

We spent most of our time floating in the pool and chatting and relaxing. Ms. Opals provided us with an oasis from everyday stress and just let us hang out! It definitely put us in vacation mode as soon as we got there. Plus - we know that Mermaid Cottages are going to be stocked with all the essentials we will need - that helps get the vacation underway quickly. Thanks again Mermaids for a terrific trip to Tybee!

Perfect Little Cottage

LOVED our stay at Opal's Cottage. We stayed for 7 days. It was the perfect size for 4 adults and so many thoughtful details for guests. The cottage was very clean & there was relaxing music playing to welcome us! The furniture and beds were very comfortable. The sheets, pillows and quilts were top notch. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Both bathrooms included high quality towels and some toiletries which we loved. The washer and dryer was very convenient for a midweek load of laundry and towels. The central air conditioning kept the cottage exceptionally cool. It was so amazing to come back to a perfectly cool vacation home! Now the best parts of the cottage are absolutely the backyard, pool and the front enclosed porch... Every morning we had our coffee on the porch while enjoying the sounds of nature all around us. The entire property has beautiful foliage which made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise 3. The pool house was awesome, filled with floats, beach chairs, & lounge chairs. The TV was awesome... We were able to watch the Phillies game from inside the pool! Finally, the Pool... Wow... it was perfect. We loved that it was heated so you could just walk right in, while still staying perfectly cool. We enjoyed it for hours every day! Finally, the staff at Mermaid Cottages were amazing and available to help us with anything we needed! Thank you 3

They never fail to tend to every detail and will check with you to make sure no needs remain. They are always so kind and welcoming. This trip was made even more special for me by them leaving a sweet card and gift to celebrate my retirement. We have stayed in at least 5 of their properties and each one has its own unique style and charm. We will certainly continue checking different cottages off of our "must-stay" list.

Property was exactly as described. Had everything you might need. Close to beach and restaurants and shops. Pool was very nice the day we were able to enjoy it (weather didn't cooperate the week we stayed). Would highly recommend.
