About The Owner

Hi, my name is Bill, long time resident on Lake Jocassee. We are proud to be able to offer this fine home for your vacation and glad you have chosen to spend some time on Lake Jocassee and this beautiful part of our country.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Lake Keowee

We have owned a home on Lake Jocassee for over 30 years. When we had the opportunity to purchase more of the extremely rare land, we jumped at the chance. Originally constructed as the full time residence for a live in caretaker for The Jocassee Club, (see website - The home is now available for rental to those who know the special magic surrounding Lake Jocassee. Lake Jocassee is known by some as the Lake Tahoe of the East. With its crystal clear waters and thousands of acres of protected land, there is nowhere else that has the same magic as Lake Jocassee.

What makes this house unique

Quiet, solitude and togetherness are often the things in our hectic world that truly rejuvenate and draws us closer together. Lake Jocassee offers that in spades, but what we really like about Jocassee Haven is that due to the location of the home on the lot, we never hear lake noise on the few days of the year even when many boaters are out. It is that sense of being enveloped in the mountains and away from it all that makes us love Lake Jocassee so very much and especially a stay in Jocassee Haven.

Our family thought the house, the attached cabin and the dock were GREAT.

  • 4 of 5

The location was beautiful. The house was perfect. With a master suite on the ground level off the Greatroom and kitchen/dining . With a 2nd bedroom with a bath and loft area on the 2nd floor, it was quite comfortable for my wife and I along with my daughter and granddaughter. The grandsons simply enjoyed the attached cabin where they stay. What a gorgeous lake. I would highly recommend this as a great place for a quiet family getaway. Our family rented a pontoon boat and with our kayaks we all had a wonderful time and would do it again.

Relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were able to stay 4 nights at this beautiful location. With two nice sized bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a loft, full kitchen and covered patio - we were set! Just a short walk down to the dock provided many hours of fishing and relaxation. There is even a separate guest cottage with laundry. A short drive to multiple parks and forests was a bonus. I would recommend this location to anyone needing to step away from the hustle and bustle of every day life to enjoy privacy and peace.

Absolutely stunning

  • 4 of 5

The house is set on a flat piece of ground (hard to find there!) and has plenty of parking and is a short walk down the hill to the boat dock. The covered dock was perfect as it rained all week, but we watched the storms from the dock and stayed dry. Fishing was great - lot's of bass and a few trout. The house is very livable and the deck was the perfect spot to start and end each day. Bring toilet paper and paper towels and all your soaps, but otherwise all you need is food. A great spot on the lake and a very nice experience.

Nice Package!

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed a restful week in July. We found the house to be very well kept and quite comfortable. Parking was generous, and we were able to park our boat trailer at the house. (18' boat) The rocking chairs on the porch were appreciated. We most enjoyed the dock, where we kept our boat and kayaks for the week. Having the boat at the house allowed for multiple outings during the day. In the morning, we would kayak. Later in the day, we would head out for watersports on the power boat. It was not uncommon to take a nap on the boat while tied up in the shade of the dock as the waves rocked us off to sleep. It was also fun to feed the fish at the dock. The clear water allowed us to see way down and enjoy the show put on by the fish. Our only negative comment relates to the furniture on the dock. It is simply not worthy... Rusty and broken with missing slats and rough edges made the furniture on the dock unsafe for use upstairs. On the first level, the chairs were very uncomfortable, but serviceable. If you plan on relaxing in the sun on the dock, bring your own furniture. We hope to return next year as this is one very nice package!

Week Long Stay at Jocassee Haven

  • 3 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this house for a week, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The location is in a neat and rare nook at Lake Jocassee, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and we were just a short drive from a number of trails and waterfalls like whitewater falls and Rainbow Falls.

Pros: The house has a nice feel. Loft, comfy beds, oak floors, granite counters, nice deck to sip your coffee. It is quiet and peaceful. The house has its own dock with a ton of space on it to enjoy the view of the water, go fishing, or do whatever.

Cons: Our stay would have been much better with the addition of two simple amenities: Internet, and a canoe. There is no internet at this place, and barely any cell phone reception. The dock is nice to hang out at, but it would have been nice to have some way to get around the lake. All of the other houses for rent on the lake appear to have some sort of boat provided. Additionally, it has been mentioned in other posts, but there is no lake view from the house, and the walk to the dock is pretty far.

Overall, we had a good stay.

Perfect Lake Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing. Lake Jocassee was beautiful--this cabin was the perfect spot to stay. The boat dock was so nice to have. The cabin is in great condition and contained everything we needed for a great trip. There's just nothing that could make this spot any better! Be sure to get a map so you can enjoy all the great waterfalls. Lake Jocassee is such hidden gem and we had the whole lake to ourselves all week. Thanks!
