Beautiful Sunny Two Bedroom in Historic Beacon Hill

Bedrooms 2
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Historic Boston is the perfect vacation setting and this rental unit is in the center of it all. Located behind the gold domed statehouse Beacon Hill is rich with architectural beauty. The streets of Beacon Hill are still lit by gas lamps today. The start of the Freedom Trail is just over the hill. Many fabulous restaurants and pubs are just a short walk away, as are most of the popular tourist attractions.

Easy access to the ferries bound for Provincetown, Gloucester and whale watching. The rental is just over the river from MIT and Harvard, and just around the corner for Mass General and Suffolk University.

Seasonally the city comes alive with the head of the Charles Regatta, First Night ice sculptures, skating on the Frog Pond, graduations, the Swan Boats in the Public Gardens, concerts at the Hatch Shell, the Boston Pops, the running of the Boston Marathon and the Boston Red Sox!

Great location, cozy flat

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful location in Beacon Hill very close to the Common and walkable to almost anything you want to do in town. We loved our stay, found the flat very cozy and the neighborhood was great. These are old buildings with slopey floors which adds to the charm. There was decent water pressure in the shower (we thought there was no water pressure until our 7 year old twisted something on the shower knob and showed us how it worked!). It takes a bit for the hot water to come up but once we realized that we just turned the shower on a few minutes before we were ready to use it. Very comfortable for a family of 4. Great spot, we hope to stay again!

Superb apartment in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here, albeit this time with my family rather than fellow marathoners.

The apartment is located on a beautiful gas lit street in Beacon Hill and has everything you need for a great stay. Any queries are answered quickly and positively.

One of the quirks of the apartment is the entrance and stairs, but unless you have difficulty in climbing stairs, it adds to the charm of the place.

It is so handy for everything and a 10 minute walk from the nearest T.

Secret tip - we ate out a lot and because of the poor exchange rate in the UK it's quite dear in Boston. On our last teatime we popped into the pizza cafe just round the corner on a Charles St and had a ginormous and tasty family pizza for $14 that filled four of us.

The apartment is lovely and clean and a great base to discover a stimulating city.

Excellent , quiet, spacious, , comfortable, private, wonderfully located Beacon hill wonder!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the apartment greatly.. Wonderfully located a block away from the Boston Common, in lovely party of Beacon Hill. It was spacious for the two of us, well laid out and equipped, nice small kitchen with fine basic equipment of all kinds . It has all the stuff you need to cook though we only ate breakfast there, as there are lots of restaurants and we were out a lot. The bathroom is small but nicely functional; on third floor it takes a while for the hot water to get to the shower but it does!!! TV and wireless worked fine, once we figured out the password as the instructions were to us impossible to follow, but a previous rentor had written down the many letters and numbers it takes. Located in the back, the apartment was quiet. At times the young renters on top floor were noisy, but only a bit and not very, so it was wonderfully peaceful. The stairs were not a big deal, and we are in our 70s. Once one got the suitcases up, it was not hard to go up essentially two flights of stairs, even with groceries. Location fantastic if you like cities. So easy to walk to places, and easy to the MBTA, and I often walked to South Station, a pleasant walk across the Common in mild weather and my wife walked to Harvard Medical area, or we took cabs, etc. Overall, this was what other rentors had said, a very nice place, well located, well furnished , quiet and convenient, comfortable, and spacious for two, and would work for 4 with the second bedroom. We liked it!!!

Exceeds Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy. Place is larger than we expected. Stairs not as bad as prior reviews would suggest. Neighbourhood is fantastic and within walking distance of EVERYTHING. Felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend.

Great location and comfortable apartment

  • 4 of 5

Mosty things were great. Location, cleanliness, bathroom, kitchen with pans, plates, silverware. We got the 7 day T pass and were able to get everywhere we needed to go. It is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Gas lights for street lamps.

Being from the Midwest, we did not realize the significance of this being a 3rd floor walk up. Many steps, don't forget anything when you leave and don't carry much in.

That said, we'd stay here again.

Great spot!

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean and charming. Check in and check out was so easy and convenient. Lisa made herself available for any issues (but we didn't have any). The apartment is in a lovely quiet street right near all the restaurants and cafes of Beacon Hill, and also super close to the public garden. It was great for our family of four. We had a great stay!
