Wood Cliff Cabin is a secluded four-season retreat, a small hand-built haven providing luxurious beauty and alternative energy, perched on a cliff, 80' above a mountain stream. One room convenience includes a queen loft bed, fully equipped kitchen, deck and plenty of storage. In the adjacent bath house you will find the sauna, shower and composting toilet. Beautiful details complement the treetop views, including the 80’ cliff overlooking our mountain creek. Your host built this unique cabin in 2009, using ten different woods, with forest-honoring window friezes, custom metalwork and local stone.
The cabin is a five minute walk from your car. We will deliver you and your luggage to the site in our Kubota utility vehicle, which you may use during your stay. Once you arrive, we will introduce you to the energy systems. 12-volt batteries supply power for LED lighting, stereo, a ceiling fan, as well as cell phone and laptop charging. Propane runs the refrigerator, cook stove, a wall heater, a Weber grill on the deck, and additional lighting. A lovely woodstove provides warmth and charm. Our delicious well water is gravity-fed to the cabin and bath house.
We welcome travelling contemplatives, romantics, naturalists and artists to our hermitage.
When you are seeking restoration that uninterrupted time offers, come to our quiet retreat and become one with the forest.
Experience conscious consumption and focused attention to details. Enjoy the heightened awareness that only solitude brings.
Give yourself a solo or couple vacation devoted to recovering peace and joy. Slow down to the rhythm of nature and your own pace.

About michael kryzytski
Mike is a professional cabinet and furniture maker. He built the entire cabin as if it were a cabinet and furnished the interior with his own work. Nancy is a calligrapher and artist, and her work adorns the inside of the cabin as well. Our house is five minutes from the cabin, so we are generally available to assist you in any way necessary.

Why michael kryzytski chose Kelly
Mike and Nancy have been dreaming of building a small cabin and sauna on this property since 1989. In 2005 Mike built the wood-fired sauna which now also houses the shower and toilet for the adjacent cabin, which was completed in the Spring of 2010. The property is ideally situated, minutes from the Bald Eagle State Forest in one direction and the historic town of Lewisburg, 15 minutes in the other direction.
What makes this Cabin unique
Listen to the quiet music of the creek, the soft song of the wind in the trees, the welcome interruptions of birds’ many calls. Smell the clean forest air, fragrant pines, pennyroyal or even skunk cabbage! Enjoy the rich mossy forest floor and cozy wood fires. Observe the play of light, constantly changing. Sun rises late to wake you in the loft bed, then sparkles on the water and projects surprise animations and shadows all around the cabin before setting over the deck. Your fresh meals grilled out on the deck or enjoyed inside wake up your taste buds. Perhaps you’ll try a wintergreen berry? Our pure clean well water is truly delicious. Wade in the shallow creek and dunk in the deeper pools. Play with clay from the banks, hug those trees, and touch the stones, bones and cones you will find. In Winter, fire-up the sauna and experience the refreshing feeling.

perfect relaxing retreat for humans + dogs
perfect, tucked away tiny house. great place to recharge and feel far away from it all. we enjoyed relaxing on the deck + in the house, and our dog enjoyed running around near the creek and burying rawhide bones. would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet spot immersed in nature.
Beautiful wilderness all around
If you are looking for a cabin with a wooden sauna and only nature around, this is the place to rent. Michael is very informative about everything and his craftsmanship is impressive. Very clean area and well maintained cabin. The kubota is there to drive back and forth to your car. Really good place to check your relationship with a loved one in the wilderness. The bed with forest view is the big bonus. Waking up to singing birds and a running creek felt awesome. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Perfect weekend getaway!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary weekend in the peaceful serenity of woodcliff cabin. When we first arrived we settled in quickly and just stood there, feeling like there was something that we needed to do. We looked at eachother and laughed because we both realized that it had been a very long time since we had no agenda. Over our 3 day stay we were continually impressed with the beautiful craftsmanship and fine details of the cabin. We read books, planned future trips, and found ourselves repeating the phrase "this place is just perfect." The hosts have put a lot of effort into ensuring that their guests have as many creature comforts as possible. I was thrilled to see that they had a coffee grinder and a French press. Our morning coffee was amazing as we sat on the deck overlooking the creek below. In the evening we saw turkey's roosting in a tree 50 yards from the deck. I suggest bringing binoculars if you enjoy birdwatching. As the sun was beginning to set we enjoyed the wood fired sauna, then retreated back to the cabin feeling more relaxed than we've been in ages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and wants to relax.
Cozy and Relaxing
My husband and I stayed here for a three day weekend. It did rain the whole time, but that did not damper our stay. The cabin is very spacious with lots of natural light. You can hear the creek below from the back deck. The compost toilet was clean as well as the sauna. If you need a little walk there is a short trail to the creek and you are able to take a loop around the property. A good place to stay if your looking to relax and get away from the busyness of life. You do have the option to get to your car if needed, but it's not necessary! We're looking forward to coming back some day!
A charming & inspirational retreat in the lap of nature.
A handmade wooden dreamscape enchanted with echoing sounds of the ruining stream below the cabin. Well kept space great for writing, painting, jamming on the acoustics (guitar/ukulele) and relaxing in the sauna. Owners are sweet, kind and very helpful. Would recommend if like the quite natural space.
