Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps up to 4)
Vintage River Cottage on 3 acres with view of the Okatie River. Ideally located halfway between Savannah, Beaufort and Bluffton...an easy drive to the Savannah/Hilton Head airport. The Lowcountry at its orginal best. Old live oaks, camellia forests, magnolias, a perfect location from which to explore the Lowcountry. This cottage is the original house on the property known as Cedar Bluff, owners live in big house steps away. Still private and quiet.
The cottage shares the property with the owners who live in big house nearby. The cottage features a wonderful screened porch, hardwood floors, ceiling fans throughout. Dating from 1925, the cottage has lots of character, all the necessities, plus some, but keep in mind that it is almost 100 years old so if you are looking for something new and modern, this is not for you. If you want to experience the Lowcountry as it used to be and in some places still is, then this is your place.
The owners also offer a small log cabin in Western North Carolina near Cashiers, Glenville, Sylva, VRBO #300192

Why Isabella Reeves chose Okatie
The cottage was our original vacation home when we lived in the downtown historic district of Savannah, Georgia. Upon making our property on the Okatie our permanent home, we make the cottage available to guests who would enjoy 'old Carolina' or 'old Lowcountry'....It is charming, has all the necessities, not too many fancy bells and whistles, but many amenities such as 'old trees, pristine tidal river, one of the Lowcountry's best screened porches for sitting , reading or sippin'.
What makes this Cottage unique
excellent location equi-distant between historic downtown Savannah (1733) and historic Beaufort (1711) and Bluffton....15 minutes off the bustle of I-95. quiet riverfront residential area, 3+ acres.

Beautiful and Charming Cottage
The cottage is a piece of southern comfort in the river front. Very cozy and comfortable. They have everything you need at the cottage. It does have well water, just FYI if your from the city (we are). Just a beautiful place inside and out!! Would definitely recommend.
Lovely cottage and grounds on the river
Don and I could not have been more pleased with our accommodations and location than Okatee Cottage. Isabella was a gracious host and made us feel welcome from the start (we hope they had a good time at her reunion). The view from the spacious dock was breathtaking, and we enjoyed wine and visiting at the end of the day there. Property was immaculate and just as described. We would not hesitate to recommend this property. It is near enough to many activities yet is quiet, restful, and relaxing. The food at The Cottage and May River Grill in Bluffton is great.

Wonderful home-away from home
We enjoyed our stay at Okatie Cottage for our visit to Okatie and a college golf tournament at nearby Callawassie Island Golf Club. The accommodations were perfect for two couples to enjoy privacy, when needed, but at the same time the cottage offered several wonderful gathering spaces. The living room dining room area can hold a large group, as we experienced when we hosted a men's college golf team and their families for dinner. The sprawling porch facing the river was very welcoming and also provided seating areas for many to experience the warm and humid southern charm of this gem hidden away in the "low country."
Great escape
The cottage is great, and the location is wonderful. We spent hours on the dock every evening just enjoying the views and the serenity. Isabella and Jerry were fantastic hosts. I can highly recommend this property.
This place was the absolute best! So charming and gracious, right on the Okatie river.
The setting was gorgeous, and the house had a great vintage feel -- very gracious and Southern. And Isabella and Jerry were the perfect hosts.
Lovely cottage
We had a great time at Okatee Cottage : the house is very spacious, quiet, and very well furnished ; the dock and the terrace are very pleasant to relax at the end of the day. The owners who live in the main house right next to the cottage are very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect to visit the Lowcountry : even if Charleston is maybe a bit far away, we enjoyed driving to Beaufort, Savannah and Hunting Island. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to come back.
Location
halfway between two of the South's most beautiful and historic cities, Savannah, Ga. and Beaufort, SC...and the old fishing village of Bluffton, SC and the resort of Hilton Head Island. A perfect place to stay to explore the Lowcountry.
