The Wood Chalet, a unique single family home constructed of teak, is strategically located between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park, in an upscale, single -area, where each house is hidden in the flora, and privately situated to view the fauna. This idyllic location is simply the best of beach and jungle. Ideal for a naturalist or honeymoon couple. Spacious, open living area with full kitchen and huge upscale bathroom for pampering yourself. The chalet is managed by the owner, Cynthia, whose apartment is on the first level, and she will check you in, offer assistance, and be available throughout your stay for questions or concerns. She can assist you with travel and tour bookings for your convenience.
View the monkeys and the sloth that inhabit the rain forest canopy surrounding the chalet from it's roomy covered porch or patio areas. Toucans, mccaws, mot-mots, humming birds, and scarlet tanagers frequent the area. Pamper yourself at the Raindrop Spa, hike the nature trails, or simply relax and surround yourself with the sounds and sights as the tropical rain forest comes alive around you.
The Chalet is located in the natural habitat of species such as the squirrel monkey, white faced Capuchin monkey, three-toed sloth, and numerous bird species. For human contact, walk into the quaint village of Quepos, a center of sport fishing and enjoy the quaint shops and restaurants of an authentic Costa Rican town.
Minutes from the most visited national park in Costa Rica - Manuel Antonio National Park. Gorgeous beaches that are outlined by mangrove and coconut trees for shade. Arts, crafts, restaurants right on the beach!
Cynthia is enjoying retirement and travels extensively.
Cynthia Hale purchased this house in 2006
Cynthia has been traveling to Costa Rica since she was 17 and wanted a second home in the Manuel Antonio area. The Chalet was her choice because it is very private, yet located with other single-family homes just a short walk into Quepos (famous for its offshore sport fishing) and a short bus ride to Manuel Antonio National Park. She lives in Quepos and is only a few minutes away to assist guests in all aspects of their stay.
Best location - quiet and peaceful yet so close to amenities
Natural rainforest setting - see lots of monkeys & birds
Romantic, romantic, romantic!
Private yet not isolated - safe and secure
Close to everything, but quiet
Tour booking assistance
24/7 assistance (owner lives 10 minutes away)
Wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your place. It was exactly the jungle setting we were looking for. Just wish we would have been able to spend more time there. Dorit did a great job in lining up our activities as well.
We enjoyed our stay in the wood chalet from Feb 24 for six nights. We were so happy to find everything just as it was described in the listing. Very peaceful, rainforest setting and top notch people to assist us at Manuel Antonio Estates from the guards, the front desk (Dorit) and the maid (Merisol). The location was ideal - close to everything but far enough from the main road so that the only sounds we heard were the birds and other animals, including monkeys in the canopy. The house, including the bathroom, was clean and cozy for romantic evenings. It was a great experience and I will recommend the chalet to others. Great value! Thanks for sharing.
Casa Chalet is a neat place to stay if you are visiting Quepos. We saw a lot of wildlife while lounging on the porch. It is within walking distance to everything in Quepos including the bus station where you can cheaply travel to other places around Costa Rica. The owner was very helpful. Thank you for sharing your home.
First, everything you see in the pictures is accurate. This is a beautiful studio style abode in an exclusive "estate". Very private, but easy to walk to Quepos for shopping and quick drive to Manual Antonio for beach, park and eat out. The rocking chair on the porch was our favorite place to spend time, reading, talking and watching everything from monkeys play to butterflies cavort. A very relaxing vacation.
Please remember this is Costa Rica, so "outages" of some sort are bound to happen, from electricity to wifi.
I found Casa Chalet to be a cozy and well-appointed teak cabin in the Manuel Antonio area rainforest. Located in a secure community, the chalet is a wonderful spot for wildlife, and Costa Rica is home to five per cent of the world’s biodiversity.
From the front porch I was amazed to see during my week stay, three types of monkey, toucans, sloths, hummingbirds, coati mundi, scarlet macaws, dozens of species of decorated butterflies, and that is by no means the end of the list. The location is ideal for those who would prefer the wild animals to come to them rather than stand in line on a tour.
The property is a short walk to the busy town of Quepos, but extremely quiet at night, with the exception of cicadas, birds, and the occasional howler monkey! The beach at Manuel Antonio National Park – rated the most beautiful beach in Central America in a Trip Advisor survey, is a 15-minute bus ride from a stop near the community entrance.
Featuring a huge Jacuzzi and laundry service, Casa Chalet is ideal for honeymoon couples and romantic getaways. I stayed as a single, and thoroughly enjoyed the huge bathroom, too.
Plus, the owner is very attractive and fun!
This small and cozy cabin is right on the edge of central Quepos. We felt safe here with the security gate personnel. Enjoyed our stay and found it well equipped. Air conditioning was much appreciated as was the jacuzzi (cool water) as there is no pool available. Great album collection & turntable provided a trip down memory lane for those of us in our 60s. Good value although more comfortable seating and better reading lamps would be helpful. Very quiet location and helpful management.
My son and I arrived at the chalet in the early evening after a long travel day. Elias was there to greet us at the property's office. He was very pleasant, spoke English very well and was eager to assist us and in getting us settled in. He even dropped by later that evening to make sure we were doing okay and helped me order a take-out pizza from a local restaurant. The property was just as advertised. It was very clean, well maintained and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. In the afternoons we would watch monkeys from the front porch and we even saw a sloth. We also met with Dorit at the property’s office. She too spoke good English and assisted us on setting up a fishing trip and a whitewater rafting trip. Overall this was a great trip. The convenient location of the property and the excellent service provided by both Elias and Dorit made this a destination that I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
