Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Love lake living? Then get out of the oppressive heat of the big city! Jump into the the crystal cool water of Sebago Lake. Sebago Lake is 10 miles long and 12 miles wide and so, so clean and clear-when it is rough you will think it is the ocean. Smell the pine scents of Maine! Terrific private home in cozy, private neighborhood (home is available only sparingly for rent); not your usual rental; great shape-2 huge picture windows facing lake; screened in porch just 14' from water's edge (or closer maybe); one of a kind 30' long permanent pier just perfect for conversation, reading, writing, meals or happy hour!

Grill right on the pier. Check out the light-post at end. Ready to swim? Walk down the cement steps into the gradual entry water or jump off our brand new Great Northern Dock; bring your boat shoes for the water as the road is called Rocky Shore for a reason. Ready to exercise? Slip the kayak into the water or raise the sail of the windsurfer (an original Windsurfer brand in good shape).

Listen to the sounds of the lake from the porch, the TV/den room or the large and quiet master bedroom. Enjoy the ducks and loons that visit daily-just don't feed them. General store 2 miles away. Indoor and outdoor working wood fireplaces. Bring your boat as the mooring is out front of house. (Night cruises are unreal). Call now as only a couple weeks are left for summer fun!

Keywords: Welcome to Rocky Shore Retreat! Private Lake living at it's best! Lakefront year around home; right on top of the water; cozy and quiet neighborhood; bring the kids and toys! 4th bedroom is in TV/den room lakeside; mooring out front of home for boat. Great getaway!

Great spot for family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Rocky Shore Retreat for one week in July for four adults and two kids. It's a very special spot. Having a pier, dock, private beach, mooring, and floating trampoline dock (brand new) made this the perfect place to really experience the lake. We took full advantage of the kayak, canoe, and windsurfer, and rented power boats from the marina down the street. The deep-water dock made tying up stress-free. A large oak tree in front adds to the beautiful setting, as well as the outdoor fireplace and screened-in porch. There's also a basketball hoop and paved driveway in front, which was an added bonus. The street is extremely quiet and safe.

The house itself is spacious and the kitchen well-equipped. It definitely has a "camp" feel to it. If you're looking for a modern house with brand-new appliances and matching silverware, then this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a charming, fun, family lake cottage, then you won't be able to find a better setting. We would definitely go back!

A beautiful and relaxing spot!

  • 5 of 5

Our time at the lake was everything I had hoped it would be. Accommodations were perfect and the lake was beautiful. Kayaking on Sebago Lake in the morning is incredibly peaceful and scenic. Perfect spot for a girls-getaway. Would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this charming home with a group of girlfriends. It was wonderful! We swam (cold in June so bring a wetsuit), paddled canoes and kayaks, ate lobsters, made fires, slept like logs, napped in the hammock, took long walks, read on the dock, etc. Truly peaceful and restorative. The dock is amazing--we were on it all the time. It's an outdoor living room. The best part is the lake. Crystal crystal crystal clear!! Kayaking over the huge granite rock slabs was very cool. We are not fisherman but a boy on the next dock caught a huge fish. I really recommend a vacation here. You will not be disappointed.

Great Place to enjoy the winter

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Rocky shore for several months as we were moving to the area. This was a great place to enjoy the winter and a nice way to transition to the area. The owners were easy to get a hold of and they had a local handyman if we needed anything. The location can't be beat with a great yard, driveway, and right on the water.
