The PineCone Cabin is a newly constructed 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that is handicapped accessible. One bedroom has a queen bed with attached handicapped bathroom. The other bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. The open living/dining/kitchen area has a queen-sized futon, a wood burning fireplace and a snack bar island. The cabin has large windows that overlook the lake and yard. There is a screened porch, patio and path to the handicapped pier. The lake bottom is firm sand- no weeds and shallow for swimming. There is a sand box and swing set in the yard.

We rented a pontoon boat and loved being on th lake to find bald eagles and a loon. Many of us enjoyed the canoe also. Great to have our dog there!

Kitchen had all basic amenities, beds were comfortable, everything was clean. Fireplace was fantastic, and there was a ton of firewood available to use. House location was close to all activities and beautiful view of the lake, while still having the feeling of seclusion. Only (minor) issue was the slick entry way, however, rock salt was left and we used a few times during our stay. Would definitely rent again, would love to see the property in the warmer months.

Beautiful Location!

The property is in great condition in a perfectly beautiful location. We had a great time. That being said there were some things that were surprising: despite the high cleaning fee, there was long list of cleaning expectations prior to leaving, including vacuuming, sweeping, wiping the bathroom and kitchen, etc, - it was a lot. Also, the pillows were flat, the bedding was super thin and we were glad we brought our own. Finally, it would be great if the water softener located between the two bedrooms could be programmed to cycle during the day - it was very loud and cycled for an hour at 3:30 a.m. on our first night. If these things are changed, I think it would be a 5 star place to stay.

Lacking required amenities and poor quality furniture for the $

Reviewer Comments: The home was very nice and we enjoyed our stay after we found and drove to a Dollar General to buy hand towels, shower towels, kitchen wash cloth and dish towels. We were shocked to find zero towels in the home. It does say Bed Linens provided in the Amenities section but for over $400 per night including the ridiculously high add on fees, one would expect the nicest towels you’d find in a $400 per night hotel room in the a large city.The furniture was also leaving a lot to be desired and not what one would expect for this price. Very old and incredibly worn and uncomfortable furniture.We loved the wood fireplace with provided 6 bundles of firewood during the full day of rain we experienced.Home was clean when we arrived. We were shocked by the extremely high cleaning fee charged up front and then the signage in the cabin stating if we did not clean the home quite meticulously that we’d be charged an fee. House cleaners must be paid $60 per hour in this region as it could not take more than 3 hours to clean this entire 1000ish sqft home down to the last detail. This was especially disappointing after we were told by the signage we needed to clean the entire home prior to leaving of face additional fees. This took us about an hour before we left at the very early check out time of 8:30 AM. There is nothing like setting an alarm to get up early on your last day of vacation so you can clean a house before 8:30 AM.The property management firm failed to send us any method or means to enter the home. We arrived at the stated checkin time and had to call them as they still hadn’t sent us details on how to enter. If renting make sure you have confirmation on how to enter. Lock box was very hard to find on left side of the screen porch.Location seemed very remote which was what we were looking for until we actually arrived and found 3 other houses extremely nearby the home in a cluster.

Stacy, We appreciate the time you took to leave us a review. I would like to address some of your concerns. In this area, it is very common that towels are not provided. The check-in instructuctions are sent to you 5 days prior to arrival, I do apolozie that that information was not released, or perhaps landed in the spam folder. The Welcome Book will need to be updated as we no longer require extensive cleaning as we have in the past. All we request that garbage is taken out and beds are stripped at the minimum. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. Please know if you are traveling in the off season, we allow late check-outs so you may take your time at departure. We take your input very serisouly and do agree that our cabin is due for some upgraded furniture. Lastly, you are always welcome to book directly to avoid third party fees, those we are unable to avoid. Happy to work directly with you and extend a 5% discount on your next rental. -Customer Service

Reviewer Comments: We were looking for a cabin that was wheelchair accessible and this cabin was great in that respect! Especially liked the concrete sidewalk all the way down to the boat dock. The gravel road into the cabin could use some maintenance but was manageable. We were disappointed in the lake that the cabin is located on. Very weedy, and not great for swimming, so the grandkids were bummed about that, but the fishing was good. The remote for the TV wasn't working properly, and even though management company said they would send someone out to look at it, they never showed. Overall the cabin was great, and our chief complaint was that the lake wasn't good for swimming as it was described in the listing.

I was able to get around without assistance on the entire property. We enjoyed fishing off the pier and the wildlife was all around. We even had an eagle sitting right on the pier each morning.

Reviewer Comments: We have been staying in this cabin I think for seven or eight years. This is the first time we have stayed there and was not happy. First of all. I had to wash all the dishes. My husband got a glass out of the cupboard and it was filthy. I went through the pots and pans, and had food stuck to it. Look like that pan was never washed. In the bedroom, they did some installing of Internet and the dust and shavings was still on the carpet and all the windows and cobwebs all over them. I do understand it’s hard getting people to help clean but why pay the big expense of cleaning and not getting anything out of it .

Clean upon arrival and it was a great location on the lake. fishing was a little slow, but that's fishing. It was nice having the central A/C as it was pretty during our stay. Really enjoyed the rental, and our host was extremely responsive to questions. Would recommend an update on living room furniture, but at the same time we didn't come north to is inside on the furniture.. I would highly recommend this unit!!

Cabin was clean and in great condition. Just a little upsetting when we are charged $190 for a cleaning fee and then we read the binder titled “information you are required to know,” and we are told we have to clean the cabin right down to cleaning the toilets, wiping the counters and vacuuming. And if we didn’t clean we would be charged a fee. We also paid a pet fee of $200 dollars for 3 nights, and in the “Information we are required to know binder,” it says the pet fee is $15 a night or $100 a week. Oh well, live and learn.
