Sister property is the Winner of the Live Well Network's TV show Suite Retreats, Dallas Episode.
Dallas Morning News article 3/26/84 states: The sad truth is that Sale Street just became too valuable to remain charming. During the 70's and 80's an annual Sale Street Fair was held in conjunction with Neiman Marcus Fortnight. It was held right outside this property and there were as many as 600 artisans. The property was an antique store from 1930 to the 1980's. Mrs. Anna L. Erwin operated Hitching Post Antiques and lived upstairs. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt was one of her clients along with other celebrities. Mrs. Erwin was the first of the Antique shop owners on Sale Street to live above her shop.
The building was built by Justice Tom C. Clark in 1921 who later was appointed by Harry S. Truman as US Attorney General in 1945 and to the US Supreme Court in 1949. Judge Clark and his wife lived upstairs and Judge Alexander and his wife lived downstairs.
Rosewood Properties purchased the property the same time they bought the Shepard W. King estate (cotton magnate)and redeveloped it as the Mansion Hotel. Rosewood used this property as there headquarters until they completed the Crescent complex. No tax on stays of thirty days or longer.

Great alternative to a suite at the renown world class Mansion on Turtle Creek Hotel. Built in 1918 and recently updated this space has all the amenities and hard to find character. Original wood burning fireplace, lots of windows and natural light, granite counter top, stainless steel appliances, gas stove, eat in bar, and wall to wall bookcase. Hardwood floors through out with the exception of bathroom (marble) and study (brick). High ceilings. Nice covered porch and outdoor patio with umbrella, table, and chairs. One car park in the attached garage. Walk to many of Dallas's finest dinning and entertainment venues. Very secure, wrought iron fenced around the entire property. No parties or loud noises allowed. Can assist with any special needs. Five minutes from Convention Center and ten minutes to Love Field. Can get a cab day or night across the street from the Mansion Hotel. Enterprise Car Rental is two blocks away at the corner of Oak Lawn and Gillespie. There is a trolley that runs from McKinney Avenue (about a ten minute walk) to downtown through Uptown. The sister unit to this property is vrbo 500664 which is adjacent to this unit and is also a one bedroom study. The entire upstairs is vrbo 442764 which is a two bedroom two and one half bath.
I purchased the property and was personally involved during the complete renovation. I love old houses and architecture.
Michael Klement purchased this house in 1990
The location is unsurpassed to enjoy the best that Dallas can offer.
Good people watching. Fabulous area, Katy Trail down the street. Lots of dog walkers and you never know who is staying at the Mansion.
Really enjoyed our stay. We were close to everything we wanted to do. Very quite neighborhood. Everything that we needed was there. Will stay again
Love this property! Perfect location, very spacious and comfortable. Who would want to be in a hotel if you can have all this space plus parking!? We were able to have a few friends over, relax. Eatzis is a few blocks away if you want to stay in. Turtle Creek is great for walking and The Mansion is down the street for drinks. Very accommodating host. Will be home away from home.
The place is not as luxury as it claims. 2 leather coaches from the pictures were replaced with cloths ones. Toiletries provided appeared to be cheap ones. But what I really couldn't bear with was the floor crunching noise when people upstairs walked. It was really annoying and started around 7-8 AM for the 2 days I stayed here, loud enough to wake up both of us! It then lasted a couple of hours and then was gone. I wonder why they walked so much?
Also we can hear people next door and upstairs playing music and laughing. These did not really bothered us because it stopped by the time we went to bed. Just so you know, the walls are not sound proof enough.
Beautiful apartment, plenty of room, plus a sunny patio we used for lunch and drinks.Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Had everything we wanted.
Having the Mansion across the street with a great bar and restaurant was a major plus!
Will definitely return.
Staying here is much better than a hotel-bedroom, kitchen (fully stocked with cooking utensils), bath and living room.
This makes our third stay.
