Princeville Condo Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Pali Ke Kua #241 is a premiere ocean side condominium located in the luxurious Princeville Resort on the north shore of the island of Kauai . Perched on an ocean bluff near Hanalei Bay, Pali Ke Kua Unit #241 is a one bedroom + loft, two bath, second floor end-unit with sweeping ocean views and views of the neighboring golf course.

The family room and dining area are comfortable living spaces with open beam ceiling, large windows and a sliding glass door to a covered lanai.

The view from the lanai and surrounding grounds is truly spectacular... sunsets over the famous Bali Hai, the sights and sounds of crashing surf, and the ever-changing ocean and sky. This is one of the best views on the island, and it ranks as one of the best in the world.

Pali Ke Kua is the only condominium complex with its own path to the beach. A short stroll across the well-manicured grounds takes you to a private paved beach trail leading to a secluded white sand beach where you can swim and snorkel in the beautiful blue water with tropical fish and large green sea turtles, or simply enjoy a romantic picnic in the private beach pavilion.

For a truly awesome natural wonder, linger at this beach in the early evening for the most beautiful sunset in the Hawaiian Islands. Pristine Hanalei Bay awaits you just a five-minute drive down the hill for surfing, sailing, fishing, boogie boarding, or just plain relaxing at the beach. Pali Ke Kua #241 is the perfect condominium rental for your most memorable dream vacation in Hawaii.

As a guest at Pali Ke Kua #241 & RE/MAX Kauai, you'll have access to Kauai's Premier Concierge Service at we will help you build your perfect vacation.

The only thing missing from the condo was the key for the pool. We had to go to the front desk to get another. Otherwise, the stay was awesome! I'd definitely stay again:)

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. After seeing some negative reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. I would recommend this to anyone. Worked perfectly for our family with 2 little ones. Wish I was back there now...

We had a great time. The unit was better in person than we could have imagined. We also received a lot of help from John (our Concierge) in planning our wedding details. We can't wait to come back.

Wouldn't recommend

The good: Large condo with a patio, decent kitchen, washer/dryer in unit.

The bad: Place looks run down, blinds don't quite work, bed creaks when you roll over.

The ugly: No AC and condo is warmer than outside temperature. When you want to escape from the heat the most, you step into an oven.

The long story:

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days and left a bit disappointed. The pictures in the listing make this condo look shiny and new, unfortunately that is not the impression you get when you walk in. The floors look are covered in carpet which has seen better days, the blinds leading to the patio don't quite work and some are missing, and the place just feels tired and run down overall.

This would all be acceptable at the price point if the condo wasn't also a sauna. We stayed during the summer months with the high being 85 every day and a low of 70 overnight. The condo doesn't have air conditioning, which is the norm in Hawaii since the weather is so nice. The way this place is laid out doesn't seem to be very friendly to the trade winds, however, and the place constantly feels hotter inside than it is outside. We stayed in another vacation rental without AC during this same trip and didn't have this problem at all - there was always a breeze inside the place which kept it at the same temperature as outside or cooler. In both places we had all the shutters open, all the fans going, and all the blinds closed to block the sun. This one managed to heat up anyway while the other stayed comfortable.

As much as we tried to stay positive and like this rental, stepping in after a hike and hoping to relax but instead feeling like you just stepped into an oven is a real drag. The worst part is that the first thing you see when you walk in is a sunroof which you can't close, which is an insightful look into the life of an ant under a magnifying glass on a sunny day.

Other disappointments:

- ocean view from the balcony is largely obstructed by wall

- the "private beach" is the shabbiest we saw on the island (out of the 10 or so we spent time on)

- even if you do fall asleep despite the heat, you will wake up the first time either of you moves due to the creaky bed

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this condo in the summer. The experience may be very different in the cooler months.

Owner's Response: Aloha and Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with us. We are addressing your concerns with the property. The owner will be installing new cabinetry, flooring, glass slider as well as updating furniture; which is scheduled to begin at the end of this month. Unfortunately the condominium association will not allow installation of AC units, but the owner will be installing a venting system to alleviate the heat and possibly open up the loft more. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future!
