This is a beautiful home in the heart of starbuck, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living room spaces, fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, air conditioning, heating, dining table sits 12 people at a time, heated pool 3 to 9 feet, 8 people hot tub, outdoor chairs and tables, 2 smart 55" TV, wireless high speed internet access, close to grocery stores, parks, playgrounds, 3 minutes drive to starbuck Beach and public water access, sleep 16 to 20, includes 1 pack and play if you have a little one. Pool use liability's waiver as well as premise use liability waiver will be required to be signed upon entering the property.

Poolside Perfection

The pool and hot tub were excellent. Beds were average to above average. King-size bed is really a Queen. Comfortably sleeps 10 upstairs and 11downstairs. Living room furniture is ready for replacement along with the patio chairs. It was fun being able to get 8 chairs around the table for food and games. Appliances, kitchen items and linens were perfect. Loved having a good washing machine and dryer. Overall, loved being there. Would love to stay there again sometime.

Family Wedding

Property is well suited for a large group gathering. It was very comfortable, but had some tired furniture, ie ripped covers on the couches. However, having young children staying there, it made it also more relaxing that we weren't going to ruin anything. Granted, the weekend that we stayed was hot and humid...the home was quite hot and humid on the inside. Yes, there are 3 working air conditioners (two window units and one wall unit) in the house, but could not come close to keeping the main floor comfortable or two of the upstairs bedrooms comfortable. One bedroom upstairs had a window unit, the other two bedrooms did not. All enjoyed the pool and hot tub area! Overall, if the a/c situation could be improved...it would have made a significant improvement in how one would feel staying here. Host was very responsive and kind! Overall, it worked great for our needs!

Thank so much Kevin. Thank you for your kind suggestion. We are thinking on adding 2 units to the second floor for next year, although for any home is hard to keep up with high temperatures and humidity, but we get it! We will address this issue promptly!

Lots of room for a large group

Overall the place met our needs. It had lots of room for our group of 11. Also, Sandra communicated promptly. Many of the mattresses appeared to be brand new, and were very comfortable. Kitchen, dining, room, and living room had lots of space. There are a few things just to be aware of. Although the listing says dining room sits 12 people, there were only 9 chairs. It would be nice to have enough chairs to actually seat 12. The fully equipped kitchen had lots of mismatched dishes, and we quickly ran out. No show stoppers, but if you are arrviving with a large group you may want to bring some of your own dishes or paper plates, bowls, and cups. We wanted to use the grill, but it was out of propane. I was told if I wanted to grill it was my responsibility to buy the propane. Bring your own body wash and shampoo. Again, nothing bad, but a lot of the things that are provided at most VRBOs were not provided here. I would be happy to stay there again if needed, and I would just be more prepared and bring the items listed above.

Michael, Thank you for your review. We love to communicate as promptly as possible and solve any problems that may present. We will include the rules for using the large outdoor gas grill and propane tanks in the house rules, so that the policy is clear. 3 of the dining table chairs were in repair at the time, but we provided your group with 2 bar stools for your stay. For the future, we are adding a larger dining table, and this one will sit 18 people at one time. Pictures to be updated en of March. We will bring an extra dining ware set for 12, and a variety of cups. We provide the guests with hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, towels. Shampoo and body wash are more of a personal choice and some people may have allergic reactions to some components, so for this reason we ask that each person bring their personal care and grooming items. Michael, thank you again for your suggestions, your concerns will be addressed for your next stay. We are glad that you enjoyed and had a comfortable stay!

Awesome Trip

This house is the perfect place for a friends or family trip. There are three bedrooms on the top floor, and the basement is basically an open area with 3, full size, bunk beds. We had 5 adult couples, and we fit comfortably. 2 couples shared the basement space, with the remaining having their own rooms on the top floor. May be suited better for families with kids, since all of the bedrooms, except one, had bunk beds, but for our weekend it worked perfectly. The bathrooms were clean, and the water pressure in the showers was great, which is always a plus. The kitchen isn't the biggest, but it worked for us. There was a gas and charcoal grill available for use. There is a large table in the entry way, as well as two tables and plenty of chairs on the patio for eating. The best part of the property was the heated pool. We spent 3 days at the property, and we used the pool every day. As an added bonus, there was also a hot tub that was not in the description. Starbuck is a great little getaway for an adult weekend. There are two golf courses within 10 minutes of the house, several bars and breweries, a coffee shop, and it's right on Lake Minnewaska. The owners were very easy to work and communicate with. We had several questions, and they responded fast every time! We would definitely stay here again! 10/10

Would not stay here again

The only two good things about this place were the location in Starbuck and the swimming pool. The swimming pool was nice, heated and clean. Unfortunately that was the only positive part of our stay. When we arrived we noticed large stains on the carpet in the entryway, a mop and a vacuum cleaner. Later we found snack chips in bowls downstairs in the children's play area. The stairs to the downstairs area were slick (the carpet was very worn), and I slipped once and my grandson slipped twice, even though we were both holding on to the rail. Also about the downstairs, we immediately noticed a smell of gas. We called the owner who advised us that it was safe and that the matter "has been addressed". This was concerning, so we had a fan ventilating out the window near the water heater and furnace. When my grandson was looking for his toy, we uncovered lots of debris in the couch cushions. The sectional felt dirty and there was a large rip in the corner cushion. When I opened the drapes in the living room, the curtain rod came apart and fell on my arm, narrowly missing my granddaughter. Further, the master bed was advertised as a king, but it clearly was a queen. All of the beds were uncomfortable, the linens of low quality and the pillows were very thin and old. This property was like none other that we have ever rented. Most properties in this price range (and this was VERY over-priced) are much cleaner and have far superior amenities. You would do better staying in a hotel.

I would advise you to rent a hotel, this home will not be available for you. when you rent the house for 6 people and pretend all your family from Starbuck can get in the house stay in and use the pool or spa.
