We had a great time at this cute cabin nestled in the woods next to lovely Lake Independence! You couldn't ask for better lakeside views and a more peaceful setting with waterfalls and hikes just a short drive away. The cabin itself is small but comfortable. It is a pet friendly house which was great for our doodle, but there was dog hair and no rugs at all to speak of (no shower rug) so our kids had pretty dirty feet. Be aware that a neighbor on the D road is sensitive about speeds on the dirt road. The host is very responsive and friendly. Overall a great little place in the heart of the UP!

This was our first stay so far north, it was a perfect location.Surrounded by hiking trails and coastal views. The city was a short drive away for any necessities.Favorite part was having a cozy place with Lake view to wake up to and watch the sun go down. Amazing!Host was incredibly attentive to our needs. A Very Relaxing Get Away

We had a fantastic stay at this property. It is off the beaten path and a very quiet setting. The private beach was a nice place to relax and enjoy the water.

Secluded yet close to the action

Great communication with the host. The paddle boards and inflatable raft were enjoyed! We enjoyed the secluded spot close to all the great hiking spots and to Marquette.

Cozy Cabin in Big Bay

Loved it. Our only problem is that there are only so many snowmobile trails coming out of Big Bay. Very Nice Place.

Big Bay!!

This is perfect, very well stocked, all cooking utensils, good working grill and the list goes on and on. Lake independence is huge, amazingly quiet. We saw loons, eagles, hummingbirds, redstarts and more. Stay here if you want to be way up in UP.

Short stay for my sons wedding

My son got married in the area and we booked the cabin to stay at. It was incredibly close to all of the wedding festivities which was great! We were pleasantly surprised with the views and coziness of the cabin. I would highly recommend staying here as it looked like it have everything for a family to enjoy a week of fun. Given the nature of our trip we really weren’t able to spend much time there but the time we did spend at the cabin was very enjoyable.

Everything was as advertised, Lee was a fantastic host and a wealth of helpful information. The guest book was full of local history, and desired destinations. 5 stars! We'll be back.

Great Cottage!

Excellent location and views. Cottage has modern amenities such as central AC and heat. Nice decorated and very comfortable with large bathroom and a/d. Kitchen and bathroom both extremely well stocked. Loved having use of two kayaks and the fire pit, although we didn't use, is a great bonus. We enjoyed our usual Big Bay Area activities and hope to be return guests. Lee, the host, responded very quickly to questions and is extremely friendly and professional as a VRBO host. Thank you!
