Come relax and enjoy "The Caboose"; a cozy, rustic, all log cabin built in 1959 and renovated in 2022. Stay in and just relax or go outside and play in God's country. Located at 33 Upper Road, just 40 minutes West of beautiful Laramie, Wyoming.
Small two bedroom (1 bedroom, 1 large loft with ladder), very comfortable size for 1 family. The loft, see pictures, has shorter railings so isn't ideal for small children.
The cabin is nestled up to Medicine Bow National Forest with millions of acres of recreational opportunities which include but are not limited to: - Groomed, marked and maintained snowmobile trails. Approx. 1/2-mile drive to trial head. Maps available online or at local forest service office. - An old railroad bed turned bike trail "Rails to Trails". Approx. 3-mile drive to trial head. Maps available online or at local forest service office. - 2 nearby historic Bar/restaurants... 1. Wycolo bar and restaurant is approximately 2 miles West on hwy. 230 with the groomed trail leading there in the winter months. 2. Historic Woods Landing is about a 10 min. drive back down the mountain towards Laramie with great food, good people and a dance floor. - Mountain streams, ponds and small lakes for fishing. Close to Miller Lake, Lake Owen and Rob Roy Reservoir. - Hunting of all kinds - Atv, utv trails, 4x4 trails and countless roads to explore. - Hiking, Geocaching, exploring some of the historic mining camps/towns.
****Please be advised (see map photo in pictures), the cabin is typically only accessible by conventional vehicles from May-December (sometimes as early as april). The remainder of the year, the caboose is an easy 0.5-mile walk, snowshoe, snowmobile, cross country ski etc. trip in from a very large parking lot that is plowed all winter. Snowstorms are not always predictable and may last days. The lot is plowed within 24 hours of every storm, but four-wheel drive vehicles are highly advised.
Due to mountain roads being impassable during winter months Snowy Range ski area is a 1 hour drive from the Caboose cabin. Skiers would have to drive 30 miles back down towards Laramie on hwy 230 and take Big Hallow cut across, then 30 minutes West on hwy 130 to get to the Ski area. It is closer to stay in Laramie or Centennial.

This was a great space for us to get a way and doing some hurting. It was really clean and comfortable and had everything you would ever need. Thank you for allowing us to stay, we had a great time.
I rented this cabin to show my Denver friends how beautiful Wyoming is and it turned out to be perfect! The cabin is super comfortable and welcoming, and in a great location! It was a great way to introduce folks to southern Wyoming.
We enjoyed the comfort and peace of this cabin. We enjoyed getting away for our anniversary. The owners made everything as smooth as silk. The Snowy Range area was beautiful for exploring. We enjoyed seeing a moose and the local dining.
2nd time we stayed there, it’s very peaceful and relaxing, all towels, silverware, cooking utensils are in cabin so just take food and drink and enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to provide a nice review. Glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin.
We had a great time and the cabin was beautiful! Such a wonderful spot. The only reason we gave a 4 star rating was that the neighbors were doing some construction and it was quite loud with several cement trucks. Absolutely not the host's fault and we would definitely stay again.
The cabin was exactly what I needed for a little thanksgiving getaway. It was even nicer than I expected. We had an enjoyable visit and hope to stay again in the summer to hike in the area. Highly recommend!
The hosts of this cabin are the most attentive and accommodating you will find. We will back this summer to stay and fish! Lovely host & Cabin!

Jack, thanks for the positive review. Hopefully you got some skiing in over the weekend. Looking forward to you and Ann making it out this summer for some fishing. 🎣
This cabin was exactly as it was advertised. It was clean, the kitchen had everything we could need and the beds were comfortable. It was close to trails that were easily accessible with our side x side. We will definitely stay here again.
The house and property are lovely. Great place to escape the world and relax.
