About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6-8

This mountain home sits on 30 beautiful, wooded acres just South of Hwy 24. It sits high on a hill above the abandoned Colorado Midland Railroad from the 1800’s. Nestled in the pines, it overlooks a stream with several Beaver ponds and visiting wildlife. Feel complete privacy with no other houses in view yet easy access to all local attractions. Close to world class flyfishing at Eleven Mile Canyon, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir and the Dream Stream.

The interior features 1900 sq ft with vaulted ceilings and large picturesque floor to ceiling windows in the spacious living room. A stone accent gas fireplace with 50" plasma TV above, completes the space. The home is superior in quality, featuring warm colors and comfortable furnishings. With the open concept, it is cozy enough for 2, but roomy enough for the whole family. You’ll enjoy cooking your meals in the large, modern, well stocked kitchen or grilling on the deck. Enjoy the Views from the 3 tiered deck or stargaze after a long day of outdoor activities in the 6 person Hot Tub.

As long time pet owners we would love for you to be able to bring your 4 legged family member along. Please advise us of the number and breed of dog you would plan to bring as we do have some restrictions and house rules that allow us to keep our home in pawsitive shape.

We do keep the driveway well plowed of snow in the winter, however the driveway has a few ups and downs, so we do recommend a 4 wheel drive for the winter and spring months.

I stayed for a girls' weekend with my mom, aunt, and grandma. We were very happy we had the 2.5 baths so we weren't all waiting on each other to get ready in the morning. Our favorite part was relaxing on the decks and watching all of the different birds at the feeder. The kitchen was a nice size and I loved having the gas stove. We cooked all of our meals at the house.

The house was easy to find. It was nice to be out and away from the crowds that can be in Woodland Park sometimes, but still be a quick drive away so we could easily run to the store for anything we needed. Definitely bring a AWD/4WD vehicle with decent ground clearance. I have an AWD sedan that does great in the snow, which we were going to drive, but we ended up deciding to bring my mom's Subaru Outback and were glad we did. The driveway was well maintained, but it is quite long and steep in places. My car would have made it, but it definitely would have been a slower, more ponderous drive in and out each time. The extra ground clearance in my mom's car made for an easy drive in and out.

Our family had the best time on this trip. The house was perfect. It felt very secluded and we all loved exploring the property. And, it's not too far from all the fun stuff we wanted to do! Thanks!!

When we first arrived all I could say is WOW. The house was perfect.

The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub on the cool mountain nights. It was so nice we didn't want to leave to explore the area. However, we did and there is a lot to see. The drive into Colorado Springs was worth it to have the peacefulness of the house.

The road upto the house was a little tricky because it had rained a lot and it was muddy. It wasn't so bad that we couldn't make it and the owners came out and worked on it while we were there.

The kids loved looking for dollars hidden throughout the house. We also enjoyed playing the board games left in the house.

You can tell the owners care for this house and keep it updated and clean.

This is our second stay with Divide Mountain Rentals and we will continue to stay with them whenever we return to the area. Brad, Laura and Kyle take pride in their cabins and are very accommodating and quick to respond with whatever you need. The properties are very clean and well taken care of.

This cabin was a great fit for our family of seven plus our Mini Australian Shepherd. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need and there are lots of games, toys, and movies. The cabin is definitely family friendly. While we were there, we enjoyed near by Pikes Peak Highway, Mueller State Park, Cripple Creek, hiking on the property, and relaxing as a family.

Thank you for the wonderful accommodations, we had another great week!!

Awesome, as usual!

Love this cabin! It never disappoints. This property is well maintained each time we come (noticed the new interior paint and septic outside). Each year there seems to be something new added! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED the new addition of the queen bed we found in the downstairs bedroom! Didn't use the new bunks but that's a great add on too! (I'm hoping for a light above the washer/dryer next year - lol, jk).

Wanted to make a special mention for those who come in by way of 70 to 24 - we stopped at Woolsey's Food Center in Calhan on our way in. Much higher quality beef than WalMart. Bought their ground beef $4.49 lb and bought over 8 lbs of ribeye (frozen) for $7.99 lb. Fresh ribeye was $11.99 and looked GREAT! I was concerned about buying the frozen-wrapped-can't-see-what-you're-buying-meat but they were equally great cuts too! The black plums were best I've had in years. Veggies looked old. Eggs tasted fresh!

Many thanks again to Brad, Laura, and Kyle for the great way they take care of everything and the special considerations they show - very special people indeed! Love the memories being created at your cabin!

(PS: I added a small veggie/rice steamer to your kitchen appliances. If you don't want it there, it's ok to toss.)
