Your Mountain Getaway on 30 acres! Stream, Hot-tub, Close to Attractions!

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Space 1,900 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6-8

This mountain home sits on 30 beautiful, wooded acres just South of Hwy 24. It sits high on a hill above the abandoned Colorado Midland Railroad from the 1800’s. Nestled in the pines, it overlooks a stream with several Beaver ponds and visiting wildlife. Feel complete privacy with no other houses in view yet easy access to all local attractions. Close to world class flyfishing at Eleven Mile Canyon, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir and the Dream Stream.

The interior features 1900 sq ft with vaulted ceilings and large picturesque floor to ceiling windows in the spacious living room. A stone accent gas fireplace with 50" plasma TV above, completes the space. The home is superior in quality, featuring warm colors and comfortable furnishings. With the open concept, it is cozy enough for 2, but roomy enough for the whole family. You’ll enjoy cooking your meals in the large, modern, well stocked kitchen or grilling on the deck. Enjoy the Views from the 3 tiered deck or stargaze after a long day of outdoor activities in the 6 person Hot Tub.

As long time pet owners we would love for you to be able to bring your 4 legged family member along. Please advise us of the number and breed of dog you would plan to bring as we do have some restrictions and house rules that allow us to keep our home in pawsitive shape.

We do keep the driveway well plowed of snow in the winter, however the driveway has a few ups and downs, so we do recommend a 4 wheel drive for the winter and spring months.

Awesome, as usual!

Love this cabin! It never disappoints. This property is well maintained each time we come (noticed the new interior paint and septic outside). Each year there seems to be something new added! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED the new addition of the queen bed we found in the downstairs bedroom! Didn't use the new bunks but that's a great add on too! (I'm hoping for a light above the washer/dryer next year - lol, jk).

Wanted to make a special mention for those who come in by way of 70 to 24 - we stopped at Woolsey's Food Center in Calhan on our way in. Much higher quality beef than WalMart. Bought their ground beef $4.49 lb and bought over 8 lbs of ribeye (frozen) for $7.99 lb. Fresh ribeye was $11.99 and looked GREAT! I was concerned about buying the frozen-wrapped-can't-see-what-you're-buying-meat but they were equally great cuts too! The black plums were best I've had in years. Veggies looked old. Eggs tasted fresh!

Many thanks again to Brad, Laura, and Kyle for the great way they take care of everything and the special considerations they show - very special people indeed! Love the memories being created at your cabin!

(PS: I added a small veggie/rice steamer to your kitchen appliances. If you don't want it there, it's ok to toss.)

Very private, lots of room

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this house. Brought 2 kids and 2 big dogs. Kids loved the bunk beds, movies, dollar game(people have hidden dollars all over house to sign and re hide) and dogs loved sitting on the deck watching chipmunks while we were in hot tub. We loved sitting in hot tub every night after sight seeing. Plenty to do if you drive into Colorado Springs(Cog Railway, Air Force Academy, Olympics Training Center, Garden of the Gods), but also liked Wolf Sanctuary tour which is pretty close to the house. We had plenty of room and all supplies in the kitchen necessary for making meals. The property was great for walking around with dogs, as there is a nice long driveway and also an old road near the house. Recommend this house if you want to take pets and/or would rather look at scenery instead of neighbors.

Beautiful home and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Beaver Lodge - June 17 - 23, 2017. This home is beautiful and perfectly located for day excursions. Our group of 6, ages 63 to 12, all enjoyed the accomodations, the hot tub, the scenery, and the spaciousness of the home. We frequently use VRBO accomodations for our summer family vacations and believe this to be the nicest home we have had the pleasure of staying in. We had ample room, enjoyed the sound system, made good use of many of the family games and movies stocked and on-hand. We dined in every morning (after having coffee in the hot tub) and almost every evening and had access to all the supplies we needed for our family meals. We were worried that not having air conditioning would be a problem, but it definitely cooled down enough each night to make it a non-issue. I would highly recommend this location and will be renting from these owners again if we are ever back in the mountains.

Thank you for your gracious hospitality and for sharing your home!

Wonderful place to stay, CLEAN, secluded, and SO roomy. We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good things about this cabin or its owners. Staying here was the best part of our entire vacation...peaceful, roomy, scenic, easy access to major points of interest, private, all the comforts of home...The Beaver Lodge did not disappoint! Everything about the cabin was just as good as advertised - or better. There were so many "extras" we never anticipated - friendly welcome note on arrival, closets full of books, board games, & movies, geothermal heating system, chairs/loungers on all decks & patios, welcome folder with lots of "inside info" on local restaurants & attractions...simply the perfect place to stay.

The Eichers were wonderful to work with throughout the entire process and always VERY prompt to respond to any questions or concerns we had, before, during, and even after our stay. Brad - we REALLY appreciated the detailed instructions for the TV operation. I'm guessing you had lots of calls about that before you made up the "cheat sheet" for your guests. LOL

Recommendations for future guests: take time to read the journal entries from previous guests (very entertaining), enjoy the $$ game, disregard the "bear" tracks outside the first floor bedroom window- we made those to scare my mom, enjoy the hot tub, and watch out for chipmunks! :)
