Heckuva view! Yes, the trail to the lake is steep but it’s worth it. Our only real beef is that they could use some screens to let the breeze in and keep the bugs out. Wonderful hosts and a really amazing place to spend your time.

Why they chose this property

The property offers panoramic views of the neighboring villages and the lake’s three magnificent volcanoes: Atitlan, Toliman & San Pedro. Located in one of the most desirable sections of the lake, Casa Cholotío sits between the villages of Santa Catarina Palopo and Panajachel, or “Pana” as the locals call it. Just a few minutes to the Pana dock, you can charter private boats to take you to the numerous villages surrounding the lake. The home is just 2 hours and 30 minutes by taxi or bus from the international airport in Guatemala City, and just 20 minutes away by helicopter. The home has a local guardian for security who lives nearby. Enjoy an unobstructed view of Lake Atitlan
